The entire length of 112 was searched most definitely by helicopter. It wasn't ground searched but it was searche by air looking for any human tracks leading into the woods. They found no evidence that any human entered those woods along thy route. They specifically state that the F&G helicopter flew a length of 20 miles for the air search. That would be from 302 to N Woodstock. So yes they did search from 302 to n Woodstock

So yes they did search from 302 to n Woodstock Published 2/19/04 Fred Murray and his son returned to the motel last night after spending much of the day combing the snowy woods in the White Mountains National Forest not far from the Haverhill site where Maura was last seen. Her father said he followed boot prints over about a half-mile of rugged terrain before he saw a clear enough print to determine that they had been made by boots larger that his daughter's size 8è shoes... I'm in agreement with you as I don't believe Maura entered the woods, especially after observing Stowe Mountain Rescue this past weekend. However, it appears that maybe the helicopter missed these prints that Fred followed.....

Took some time to attend to some pressing issues. I noticed that quite a few of the other consistent posters have been about other business as well. Interesting to me that those who would say that a contingent of these fairly consistent contributors want the thread to end, haven't taken any real advantage of the opportunity to run free here with all of their wonderful contributions and theories on how to solve this case. In fact, there has been very little activity here for days now. Could it be that, when given the opportunity to speak, without the usual resistance, this group has just run out of ways to repackage the beating the old horse takes? Yes, Bobby has again educated us on the search, and has indeed informed us that, contrary to what City has told us, any fool that knows anything, realizes that the best way to look for shoe prints in the snow, particularly if those prints are under a size eight, would be with a helicopter. This is the same theory espoused by ant farmers who choose to view said farms via satellite. One is able to get a much more intimate view of details, nuances and physical interactions with environment this way. Very scientific approach and to suggest that an actual foot/ground search would offer any details one couldn't glean from a helicopter in the sky is mere buttocks talk. There is one point that has been brought forward, however that I'm surprised hasn't caused more debate; The computer. In light of the Casey Anthony situation, it makes good sense to me to ask these kind of questions. I wonder if anyone knows whether LE has done or redone this kind of extensive search on Maura's computer?

Granny may have retired (for the moment) from posting, but, until she is able to train someone to work with shack, she will still be in the judging booth jumping in out of her many different suits to maximize her votes on posts.... Sigh...

Now Granny, Don't be so quick with your judgement. I actually gave you a heart.I was very happy to see that you finally recognized that cyber stalking, real world stalking, wee wee size judging, snokin hot pick up lines and general lunacy have no place on this thread... Geeze..

I doubt very much fetal alcohol syndrome was a "one and done" kind of computer search.

no one stays away too long from lurking and / or posting where the dead horse rests without peace. sometimes dress-up is sheep and sometimes wolf, but one would assume there will be a transition back from read and judge only status.

Too bad all the stuff found in Maura's saturn was given back to the family (Kathleen) where it was put in a spare room at Her and Tims house.
These items where taken back from them on 6/25/04. All these items are listed on the possessed Property report..........
EXCEPT FOR THE COMPUTER.........BUT IT WAS TAKEN @ that time, hard drive extracted as well.

There are those that would say that this dog may be a pointer... There is a poster that goes by the Moniker, What if, I believe it is, who is actually doing a detailed study of this thread and everything else he can find concerning Maura, in order to speak in an informed manner. I think it's a brilliant approach and, should you find yourself interested enough to actually follow this path,I'm pretty certain that Whatif would be willing to point you in specific directions...

Honestly, it's my concern that the starving pigeons that congregate at the local McDonalds may not be able to captivate the attention of their generous and compassionate benefactor for any sustained period of time. ; )

UMASS must have given the computer to Kathleen. I know IT was in Maura's dorm room in the early days of her disappearance, and likely copied the hard drive, and then given the computer to Kathleen.
