I obviously can't speak for Shack but she makes a good point about the lack of local media coverage on this case. There's been several artticles yea, but considering the size of the investigation the NHSP conducted and the fact that a young innocent girl was likely abducted from the area, I would think there would've been a lot more media coverage. I'm pretty sure the local articles on the subject can be counted on 2 hands, that's pretty weak considering we got a missing girl on our hands.
Are there no real journalists in NH? No investigative journalists? What's up with that? I would think there would've been a journalist that would'vee been all over this case the way Renner was 8 years later, but I guess not.
There's a serious problem with journalism today, seems like the day's of ttrue investigative journalism is dead, people that would really dig into a story and bring new facts to light. I always felt that was what this case needed, and while eventually we got Renner he was just too little too late.
In NH I feel that the journalists were scared to dig into this case for real, they're scared to piss off LE. The fact of the matter is that most of their stories come from LE, they rely on LE to spoon-feed them info so they can write their stories. I fell they're afraid to really dig into anything and make the police look bad bc then they won't get any good quotes for their next story,, or they won't be fed stories first, or whatever.
In realiaty it's not just NH, it's the whole country, naional media and local alike. Nowadays they just write what they're told by LE, or the Gov't or whatever, this is why all the news stories on almost all topics are pretty much the same thing. Nobody is digging, investigating anything anymore.
Sad to say the days of investigative journalism is dead from what I can tell.
But Shack is right about what she says, there is a serious lack of local new articles on MM and there has been from the start, it's sad. IMO if this forum, and others like it, didn't exist then this story would've been forgotten about years ago by the media. Sad but true
