Bill I'm still yet to see you offer up a legitimate, logical explanation as to how a tree could've possibly caused that damage that's seen in the original photos.

Also nothing even resembling an explanation for how the front driver's side got damaged, which by simple laws of physics should've been the last corner of the car to sustain damage if she spun out around the corner. Smith's assertion that she spun out around the curve just doesn't make sense. Logically the front passenger should be most likely, then the passenger side, then the passenger rear corner and so on.
It makes absolutely no sense to say she spun out around the corner when all the damage is confined strictly to the front drivers corner of the car.

There are a lot of problems with smith's report if you look at it logically & with an open mind.
I've never seen you or anyone actually logically explain what he wrote in that report in a way that truly makes sense.

But mr genius, how do you account for the fact that she sustained damage to he corner that is the least likely to sustain damage. Just simple laws of physics dictate that if you spin out after a left hand curve your ass end swings out to the right makin your passenger Side most likely to get damage. Your front drivers headlight corner is actually the least likely, yet that's the only spot that has damage, how do you explain that? Have you ever actually thought about it or are you just going by what smith wrote in his report?

Why doesn't the damage to her car look anything like any damage I've ever seen that's from a tree? What's up with that?
How did she go through a snowbank, hit a tree and then bounce back out? Generally if a car goes through a snowbank & hits a tree it stays in the snowbank, who ever heard of a car bouncing bak out into the road? How does that make any sense mr genius?

See what I'm sayin? Smith's report contains a lot of innacuracies if you look at it objectively & more importantly HONESTLY. It actually makes no sense at all logically. Whoever made this post is an idiot, plain & simple.

I disagree that this place is worthless, that's a very negative & jaded way of looking at it.
While its obvious nobody who posts on here will solve this case, or even can solve this case, that's not the point of forums like this.
The purpose that this forum serves, & others in the past as well, is to keep the case from being forgotten, keeping in the public's eye, at least somewhat.

This case has had a large online presence since early on, & that has clearly helped keep the case known about by the public. Just compare the amount of articles written about this case to others & you can see what I'm talking about. How about louise Chaput's murder in Pinkham notch in '01. That was a brutal murder & it barely received even a fraction of the coverage this case has gotten. This case has many more articles written about it, many of them actually mentioning the online forums in them.

So forums like this do have a purpose, the can be worth a lot to finding a missing person. The best thing above all else that will help bring answers in this case is the public's attention. The cops need tips from the public to solve cases like this, & if the public doesn't know about it then there's no way they can provide those tips.

I think now that a bunch of these trolls have seemed to have left many good posters who used to post are gonna start posting again.
We can't let these trolls win, they've clearly had an agenda to get people to stop posting for a while now & they've done a good job at it. Turn the place into a giant argument/personal attack fest. It's ridiculous IMO.

I remember the long discussions about the CS report. Also, the many discussions about the damage to Maura's car. I don't think that any of it even matters at this point because whatever her car looked like Feb.9, 2004 it doesn't look like that now. It sat at Lavoies for a time and then moved to SP.
I would like to think SOME forensics was accomplished. I would also like to believe that
CCU has some information in their files to help.

Hi all ,Speaking of the saturns and forensics, on MrRenners site there are pictures of some of the saturns contents and in the door panel there is what looks to be the incident recorder that stores information about what the car was doing after the airbags deploy.Did someone local have the power to slow or divert the investigation early on.My new theory is Maura found out Thursday that someone had spilled the beans and Daddy showed up to 'fix it' cash only as he had done before.take care philip

Whiston- what exactly are you talking about? Someone spilled the beans in regard to what? Are you talking about the vasi hit & run or something else?

I find it interesting that he told LE that he brought $4000 for a new car, probably knowing that they would be able to check his bank records & know that he withdrew that money.
But then to the public he said that they had picked out a car but he was going to return the following weekend to buy it. Why would he return the following week if they picked out a car & he had the money on him? It doesn't really make any sense. Seems like he told different stories to the public & to LE.

But who did this person 'spill the beans' to? If they already said something to LE then 4 grand ain't gonna really fix that. I don't think you can really buy cops anymore, is that what you're talking about or are you talking about him paying someone else off?

Hi all, we are told Maura was seen upset Thursday evening by some yet to be named person who then told Karen M and that is when Karen went to check on Maura.Karen we are told suggested Maura see a counsellor so I am assuming Karen knows what 'was up with Maura'.I think Maura got bad news Thursday p.m.whether pregnant ,kicked out of school,the coversation with Katherline who knows.I am guessing Maura was told by the court to pay restitution and then there could have been people who could have been persuaded not to press charges with a little reimbursement from someone.take care philip

Sometimes I get confused by the statements made by KM. I believe UMASS in 2003 had heath counseling, crisis intervention 24/7, if fact they were available to the five colleges in the surrounding area. Security personnel surely would have known this. I sense that KM thought Maura to be more than just upset, so I wonder why no one put a call in to seek help for Maura that night, early morning? And secondly, why not follow through on an unanswered phone call the next morning and the plan to meet at Dunkin Donuts? I know hindsight is 20/20, but seems like some major red flags fell through the cracks....

Another thing, if Maura had been involved in this credit card debacle, why was she continuing to work security, and whiston can you check your sources on the transfer status from West Point. From what I gather under the harsh terms that has been publicly issued, how was it that Maura was able to transfer her credits to UMASS. She must have been a student in good standing from WP.

Also, not that it matters at this point but KM said she started packing her up at ( according to her email to JR) at 1;15pm.

She was emailing to clarify time.

I don't know about anyone else, but a missing person would stick in my head, visually, emotionally, like reliving the last time in my head, and to make a mistake between day and night.....

I believe she also said on the old MMM forum was that she gave Maura her cell phone number so that they could meet at dunkin donuts in the morning, but her kid was ill and she couldn't make it, and there was no answer in Maura's room.

KM also said she filled out a police report "the next morning". Odd to recall that when you are trying to clarify things. Especially since it would have been like 5 days later.....

I wasn´t aware UMass had counseling available 24/7. This makes it even more strange KM didn´t get Maura to counceling immediately. It certainly sounds like more than somebody getting a phone call with bad news. There are also some major time discrepancies in KM´s email to JR compared to her forum postings (copied I believe at Adv´s old forum). I too believe Maura going missiing days later would make the incident stuck in ones mind. Something about this story doesn´t add up.
