Well, that's fascinating. Here I have always believed you were one of Maura's relatives who Renner outed on his blog, and I thought most people here thought the same.

If you are not that person, then I am still perplexed as to why, if you are this interested in what happened to Maura, you "don't do" Facebook. That group is the only place where Maura's relatives regularly post, and I would think any relatives that care about finding her would have an account and keep up to date on what is posted there. I cannot fathom how you can choose to get your information on this forum rather than the Facebook group where all Maura's other relatives keep in touch. Very very strange.

You know, you can create a fake name on Facebook just as easily as you can here on Topix. You don't ever have to post - you can just read.

I didn't say you had no right to post here or ask questions, go right ahead. I just find it strange that I, not a relative of Maura's, check here and Renner's blog and Websleuths and old forums and the various pages on Facebook for information about her, and you don't.

Granny and whoever:

Haverhill covers 50 square miles and has a population of about 6000 people, Bath, which 112 passes into and back out of between rt 302 and the crash site has a population of over 1000 and is 39 square miles. Plot out 90 square miles on a map around your home and tell me how many people you know. Do you know every one of the closest 7000 people to your home? I bet you even know people on one side of any given street and not the people directly across the street from them. OMG!! you must be a liar! Bugger off. My only mistake was coming here and expecting it to be a true exchange of ideas on the Maura Murray case. I was naive enough to think I was being helpful. You showed me, great job. I can sleep soundly at night knowing I never said anything that was untruthful here.

citigirl: I understand your situation and I am not trying to be evasive. FACTS: The owners publicly posted information on facebook. I did not see that information posted here. So I posted it here, thought it would be helpful. Beyond what they were willing to post, I cannot help you. This is their home, their option to post. I felt safe in posting the information as accurate because unlike people here, I know who they are and have known them for several years. I was confident I was not passing on a made up story. I suggest since you are part of that FB group that you contact the owner directly and ask your questions. Not sure what Granny's issues are but I know people in the Woodsville area that I have had a reason to know through other activities in my life. SBD was one I never had occasion to meet since there was never any personal activities that we shared to allow that. I never knew Forcier for the same reason. As stated previously, This was not a frequently discussed thing in the area, I can only speculate as to why that would be. Yes it gives us all a little chill when we drive past the spot, has since the first time I went by it, it did the other day when I went by it just to compare what I have been reading to what I remember. I do not have reason to travel that way much. I feel sorry for those looking for answers, it is a sad situation.
OPINION: I feel that those closest to her knew and know more than they have said. I also believe she is alive and there is a reason she has not contacted her family and some of them know the reason. Just my opinion, but I am entitled to it. Good luck to you in your search.
I dont do facebook. I believe Maura met up with foul play the night she disappeared. Why would LE go back and search a specific home and property with equipment and cadaver dogs 3 times? Why was the trailer searched? Why have other areas been searched? I dont believe LE would do this if they felt Maura was alive. Everbody is entitled to there opinion. Regardless of what the opinions are we all want the same thing and that is to have Maura found.

My guess is they do not have evidence enough to go either way. I had heard that Forcier was a private person and refused any searches. Since he always refused it was always an open question as to why? I honestly think the searches were just loose ends to be wrapped up and the new owners were helpful. Closing doors makes the true path clearer.

Seems to me that a temporary visit to facebook, if it could get you the answers you seek, would be worth it.

Well Im the only relative that posts here. Just because I dont do facebook does not mean I dont care. I do have a phone. I believe face to face conversation is the best.I have recieved alot of information by actually traveling to NH and talking with people in person. Sorry if you disagree with my style.

Although I have asked alot of questions trust me Iam greatful and appriciate the fact that the new owners allowed the house and property to be searched 3 times. But I still have the question as to why the house and property had to be searched 3 times.

It has nothing to do with me disagreeing with your style or thinking you don't care. You have been involved in this forum and other forums for years, apparently, and are always seeking out new information on Maura. You are very invested in finding out what happened to her, yet you choose to not avail yourself of an important source of information. Obviously, telephone calls and face to face conversations did not get you the information that BillNH reported here and was discussed a week ago on the Facebook forum. I really recommend you set up a Facebook account with a fake name and all fake information so that you can be better informed for your own sake.

I have only posted on this forum and the MMM forum. I was told by a family member as to what the the resident that lives in RFs house posted on facebook. Another family member is handling this info. If info comes in you dont need every family member contacting them. One family member is efficiant. BillNH has posted on this forum so I have every rights to ask questions.Just like posters have asked me questions in the past.

Vasiīs mom was quoted as saying there was no investigation whatsoever, but I read in another article (please donīt ask me to link!) his clothing was collected for forensic testing. Someone also posted here (mcsmom?) that the reported intense LE interest in the Corolla may have been due to the Vasi hit. Wonder what, if any, testing was done on the Saturn.
One month to two months (depending on which news report you go by) after vasi's hit and run and the police were asking him if he had been in a fight or had he been car surfing ... That is poor police work.

A car that strikes someone doesn't have arms to then reach down and scoop up the pieces of plastic and chips of paint it leaves at the scene of the hit and run. A proper investigation (which SHOULD'VE started that very night vasi was found) would've quickly ruled out the scenario that vasi was jumped by a bunch of UMASS Minutemen henchmen.

The cops did keep his clothing and that was the extent of their investigation.

Now when they figure out how to unlock themselves from the town jail cell, maybe they can move on to investigating maura's cc fraud.

IMO of course.

made it to page 1,102, which is almost exactly 2/3 of the way through this forum. i now have developed a morbid fascination as i watch the topix drama unfold over the course of those old posts. i'm also looking forward to stumbling across my first post to see where it pops up and in what context. should be interesting.

quick question for wth-the-original: from either your experience or your understanding of law enforcement protocol with respect to vehicles that may have been abandoned by a driver under the influence, is it common practice for law enforcement to have said vehicles towed and/or impounded in the state of new hampshire? i've often seen in other states where i've lived abandoned vehicles with some type of notice stuck to the driver side window or markings on the vehicle windscreens or on the body and/or tires. thanks in advance.

2/6/2004 It had just changed over from Thursday night to Friday morning.

The hit and run took place one block over from where maura was working, reported in at 12:20 a.m.

Maura was found upset at the security desk she was working right around 1 a.m. Her supervisor came in to check on her around 1:15 to 1:20 a.m.

Maura was dismissed (30 to 45 minutes early) from her shift, because she was not responding to students entering the dorm maura was working at and maura was not responsive to her supervisor (right off the bat).

Maura has been described as just staring blankly ahead and not answering or responding to anything. Maura at some point broke down at her desk and had to be physically helped away from the desk and walked towards her dorm. And maura had to be signed out as she was in such a state that she couldn't sign herself out of work.

According to umass dorm security guidelines,
Maura would've worked from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. that thursday/friday evening/morning.

She was called a dorm (Security Monitor).

An Area Supervisor (which oversees 6-8 dorms total on campus) is responsible for making sure security monitors (with the longer shifts such as maura's) get breaks throughout the night.

Maura was talking or attempting to talk to her boyfriend just after 12 a.m. vie her own personal cell phone.

The million dollar question is (since you weren't suppose to make personal calls while working) was maura on break around 12 a.m. to 12:20 a.m. and if so, did she stay at her desk or did she get in her car and drive off for a break?
