Sorry Frmle, I have always said that I have an open mind as to what happened unlike yourself who only holds the walk in the woods card. I in fact stated a while back that I was beginning to strongly lean towards run away to start a new life and that is where I am now second to abduction. Suicide is last on my list as it was in Renners poll.
correction:

I believe she ran away and started a new life followed by abduction and suicide coming in dead last no pun intended. I am open to all theories and peoples point of views.

NVM the fact that we're tallking about a 21 yr old girl here, does anyone HONESTLY think that a young woman like that is just gonna go walking into the woods like that in te pitch black?
No matter how many times I say this, your lack of experience means you will never be able to understand.

You are not considering the single most important fact. That all of your hypotheticals rely on Maura being sane and acting with common sense. You have obviously never dealt with people who are mentally unstable or emotionally distressed.

I will grant you that your premises make complete sense for a person acting reasonably and with a sound unemotional mind. The problem is that unless you have routinely dealt with people who are NOT of sound unemotional mind you do not understand that the things people do when they are emotionally distressed MAKE NO SENSE TO NORMAL PEOPLE.

Do you understand that? I mean I know it is hard to grasp, the things people do when they are depressed and emotional. Because it is like trying to understand why killers kill, why those 2 guys bombed the Marathon, etc.

That is the difference here, to me, based on my experience as a cop, criminal investigator, I can recognize the signs of a person who may be mentally or emotionally distressed based on actions and such. And to me, Maura was a person who showed numerous signs of emotional distress.

That is why all of your theories go out the window, because they make a base assumption that she would have acted reasonably. I am making my thoeries based on the assumption that she was acting UNREASONABLY BASED ON HER EMOTIONAL STATE.

Does that help some? Throw reason out the window, because as a criminal investigator you often deal with things that make NO SENSE.

Why do young men kill random women in their beds with a machete? Why do men place bombs in crowds? Why does a man walk into a school and murder innocent children?

There is no answer, because some things defy explanation. And to me, the things that Maura did, the way she acted leading up to the crash and immediately after the crash told me that she may be suffering from mental or emotional distress and therefore the things she may have done may not have made sense.

Try to think about what was POSSIBLE, not what was reasonable.
Jenkins wrote:
This is probably why the NHSP has said since the beginning that they believe she caught a ride from the scene, because that's the only thing that makes logical sense.
Again, time after time you continue to embellish and mistate the facts. No one from NHSP said they believe she caught a ride. What Lt. Scarinza said was she may have gotten a ride, which is the same thing as saying she may not have gotten a ride.

You have a habit of spinning half truths and embellishing to make the facts fit your theory. This is a mistake, many cops do this routinely, it is the sign of a closed mind.

By now everyone here knows your schtick, it doesn't work man.

I am honestly impressed. I was embarrassed to ask how to do it ha ha ha . I usually have to ask my daughter how to do the high tech stuff. Maybe I will go practice on a dormant forum somewhere lol.

Regarding the searches, the 2.5 feet of snow, etc etc etc.

Listen for a second ok. Yes the police searched the area around the crash site, and no she did not enter the woods in that area. That much is a given.

What you are NOT CONSIDERING is that in the time Maura had she could have gotten several miles down the road. Now consider that the searches focused on the area around the crash site and no search was so extensive that it contained the possible area where Maura could have easily ran to or walked to.

I see how you continue to place great faith in that helicopter search. It is not that thorough, the equipment is not that sensitive. It is far from a guarantee. It is like how people think a dog tracking a scent is a guarantee. It is not, it is a tool sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't work.

Again, this is why it really helps to trust the opinion of people who have conducted searches, who have been in the woods looking for people, as opposed to someone who has never been on a wilderness search in their life.

Maura could have easily walked, ran, trotted several miles away in any direction and avoided detection. It's simple, you see a cars headlights you duck off the road. She could have walked up a driveway and into the woods, she could have gone over a snowbank, she could have done anything that would have allowed her to get away from the road without leaving tracks.

The snow was not that deep, it could easily have been traversed if a person were determined. You talk about sneakers and jeans, let me tell you if a person is drunk, distressed, emotionally upset and wanted to commit suicide do you really think wet pants would stop her? Would she be worried about getting her keds wet?

Of course not, none of that would matter.

Think outside the box for a moment, if it is possible.

I personally don't think a helicopter search of 112 can accurately say nobody entered the woods because the overhanging trees over the road and the small shoulders on the road. I really never put much stock into that part of it. I put stock into the local on foot searches for tracks.

With all that being said, I just don't feel Maura ventured down that dark black road in February. Just my opinion like any one elses.

I agree tang, she complains about the direction of the conversation but doesn't enter in a new direction that she wants to talk about.Just complains about others 9 innocent bystander aka observer)

Frmlee called Maura a girl a few posts back and sort of made ger look like someone without brains to think on her own, I am surprised Snowey didn't comment of the word usage "girl". Now that is not rehashing is it? Interesting never heard her say that before? Never heard her talk about ducks and the old MMM over and over and over. And oh yea, the locals and how they were treated.

Thanks, I wasn't sure but I let er rip. Takes some concentration but I think I am ready to bring it.

Hey Bill- Regarding your videos. I would like to see you do a drive from the accident to swiftwater circle to valley rd and go by the a frame etc... I made the trip myself on my bike but others might find it helpful to see how close it really is and what the A frame looks like today etc..

What do you think ?

There was a Poster on the original MMM Forum who kept
insisting that Maura walked/ran 112. He just didn't understand how dark black it was with no street lights.
Who knows if she had a flashlight....
It was even offered to drive those believers there and drop them off to see (or not to see) for themselves.

In my opinion hat is just an eerie stretch of road all the way down to 116.. To not be familiar with that part of 116, I just have a hard time believing she would go down that path.

There is always enough ambient light to walk a road at night without street lights or a flashlight, especially with snow to reflect the light from the moon and sky.

Once the eyes adjust you can see well enough to track a roadway.

Trust me here, I dare anyone to do what Shack suggests. You will be able to see well enough to walk the road.

She could easily have gotten down 112 to 116, she had plenty of time.
