Think clearly for a second ok, I'll go slow. The night if the accident no one had any idea whatsup have been going on with Maura, right? You understand that correct?
They has no background of any of this, all they knew is some woman crashed her car and left the scene after making significant attempt to avoid the police. And they knew alcohol was involved.
That's it.
it is abundantly clear to any impartial observer that the authorities would not have known Miss Maura Murray would permanently disappear from the scene of a spinout with moderate damage, a driver-abandoned vehicle, and with evidence of alcohol, and its possible consumption; not to mention out-of-state tags, further suggesting the driver's probably being unfamiliar with the roads. fair assumptions, i'd think.
the authorities are not clairvoyant; only hindsight is 20/20.
but East vs West is a niggling point made by those who were not and are not part of the official investigation.

I personally spoke to several first responders. They had stated to me the search only went to the end of BHR on 112 because they did not see any foot prints. I have always believed they were honest. And to this day I believe they were honest. Do you believe they were not honest?
.
.

No, I agree. I think they were honest. It is important to understand that in cases like this the first responders are not the people who generally search. That is the task of Law Enforcement. So I think they were telling you the truth.

CS had told responders she probably went to visit a friend in the Mountain Lakes. Monahan went to the east and even talked to RO. Why did Woodstock not know.

That makes complete sense, that is what every other cop would do in the same situation. Nothing about what anyone did is out of line with common practice. You continue to want to use hindsight to judge what was done.

While that sure makes you feel justified in slamming everyone who did anything, the reality is that we never have hindsight in real life, do we? We do what our SOP’s tell us to do, we do what experience has taught us is the best course of action. At the time, not days, weeks, months or 9 years later.

Why did Woodstock not know? Because she was on foot and Woodstock was well beyond what a normal person on foot would be able to walk to. Because hindsight is 20/20.

You state isnt it possible or even most likely. This is a question of yours and not a fact. I could be wrong but this most likely tells me you no nothing about the case.

I am pretty damn sure that multiple times in my posts I state that this is my opinion, based on my experience and my training. Didn’t I say that numerous times?

Let’s forget for a moment what I may or may not know about the case. The opinions I offer I do so using common sense and typical human behavior based on my 23 plus years of experience. Don’t I say that?

Let’s assume I know nothing about this case other than those facts that are commonly known in the public domain. My opinions are based on nothing more than those facts, I don’t think I could be more articulate about where my theories come from, I elaborate on why I think this or that and use examples that most people can read and understand.

I am not sure how much more clearly I can state that simple fact for you. Now you may choose to agree or disagree, it matters to me not.

The point being they had no real reason to look at all. People leave their cars to avoid police, police tow them. People show up later to claim their car. No reason for an all out search.

A couple things regarding the “SEARCH”.

FIRST. This case remains open therefore no one here knows who searched where. Please try to grasp that fact, no matter what you think you know from talking to this guy or that guy, unless you have read the entire report you do not know who searched where.

No one knows where Trooper M went, how far, or what route he drove. Get it?

So unless someone here is friends with John and he told you what he did, you don’t know whether he went East or not.

Nor does anyone know where Smith went unless you have read the entire report or have spoken to him personally.

Accept that fact before you start throwing out conspiracy accusations.

SECOND. No matter where the Trooper or Sgt. Smith may have gone to search, you are forgetting one little issue.

MAURA WAS TRYING TO AVOID THE POLICE. Understand that fact, if someone is trying to avoid you finding them, and you are not searching for them in a manner with that in mind, any searching is rather irrelevant, isn’t it?

I’ll put it another way. The police are searching for Maura, while Maura is trying to avoid being seen. This is at night, in a desolate area. Who do you think has the advantage here?

How many cops were searching for that 19 yr old bomber in Watertown? Like, 2000? In a small contained area? And they still couldn’t find him could they.

So no matter who drove where, East or West, so long as Maura was trying to avoid being seen it makes absolutely no difference. Think about it for a second.

I did not say...."AN ALL OUT SEARCH.".....YOU DID..!

SBD could have gone down Rte 112 East to 116 South and back to BHR and down to Rte 112 at the scene again.

WHY go to the west....No officials saw Her on the way to the scene, so IF She had gone to Mtn. Lakes She probably would have arrived there by the time Butch went on His search.

They should have done that loop that nite.....15 to 20 min.@ the most. SBD could have gone that way.

LE did not do all they could have that night.....Feb. 9th 2004.

And before you try to say it let me call you a liar straight out right now.

You stated that you spoke to Trooper Monaghan, is that correct? And he told you what he did that night?

You said that yes?

I am calling you a Liar, straight out right now. Because that is complete bullshit. Your credibility is less than zero.

Hindsight is a great thing, isn't it?

They did what they needed to do under those circumstances and with the information they had. The same as they likely have done 1000 times before and after that night.
