It seems that Roz is the one that needs a reality check since Chris does indeed seem to have come back alive and well.
Another case of blaming the locals and the area unjustly and with no proof that a crime was ever committed.
Notice that Roz has plenty to say when someone is missing but when they are found there is not one word from him about it.

Two of my four grandparents were born in Sweden. I was thinking of moving there from U.S. and living there for the rest of my life. But I have only U.S. citizenship. Is this a problem?

Can you recommend Sweden as a place to live?

I had a cousin there, but I think he's dead now, so no more relatives to contact.

Suggestions?

If you want peace and quiet I suggest you move close to but not in a major city. No cell phone coverage, poor to nonexistant tv and radio reception, extremely poor road condition reminding of the Soviet union in the 70ies, and the neighbors sheep ate the landline cable again... but the phone company is planning to do away with it altogether anyway... Your US citizenship would not be a problem as long as you can find an employer who needs your skills. You´re most welcome, but don´t forget to bring a heap of money to pay our skyhigh taxes!

As another Swede here I think that Hannah may be a little harsh on Sweden in some ways.
1.Com pared to the convuluted ways of the US Immigration procedures, the Swedish equivalent is extremely quick, simple and straight-forward in practically all aspects.
2.Yes, taxes are high, as they are in all the Scandinavian countries and,more or less so,in the rest of Western Europe.
But for your high taxes you are granted free access to the publicly funded health care system, which in many ways is similar to the publicly funded Canadian health care system.
So, no need for any sky-high health-care insurance premiums which may in some instances still leave you "uncovered", as may sometimes be the case in the US.
3. Yes, Internet/Broadband issues can be a hassle in some very remote locations in the countryside, but certainly no worse and often a good deal better than is often the case in the more desolate parts of Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont, or other similar locations in the US.
4. I believe that you once mentioned here on Topix that your ancestors hailed from the charming city of Helsingborg in the southernmost part of Sweden, with the city of Helsingör in Denmark being visible just across the Strait of Öresund.
Helsingborg with a little over 100000 people is a wonderful city, one of the most beautiful in Sweden and conveniently close to Copenhagen, Denmark.
I´m sure you´d love it there.
5. Practically all Swedes speak at least some basic English and quite a few speak English very well indeed, especially in the bigger and mid-sized cities.
