Although I agree it can get a little Lord of the Flies-esk around here, you paint a picture of an unfriendly place that, I think, is unfair. The posters here are not unfriendly - I am new here and two of the forum stalwarts took the time to welcome me. I also don’t think their motives are to chase all strangers off their little piece of cyber land. To paraphrase BillNH they just have good BS detectors around here. Admittedly, for one or two, this can spill over into paranoia at times but I think most people take the comments of these posters with a large pinch of salt.
A few people have misrepresented themselves here and that has made forum members wary. Also, you need to remember most people are here because they are interested in the mystery surrounding Maura Murray. Those who like mysteries and whodunits tend to want to unravel things, to look for clues, evidence, references and resources – we’re puzzlesolvers. If someone smells BS the natural instinct is to chase down the trail.
Anyway, I’m rambling.... You’ve said a lot about the posters here but, after trawling through the whole thread, did you come to any conclusions regarding Maura?

If you read back around January of 2012 was the first post I made on this forum. I had posted on the mm.com & MMM.com forums years but had never posted on topix before. I can't remember the exact topic of my post but it was about the likelihood of her being abducted.
Literally my first post I was completely attacked by these horrible people. You would not believe the crap these people were saying to me, they had no idea who I was, I made a very logical & low key post, & these people attacked me. On top of that they didnt just attack my post they attacked me personally, someone they had never interacted with & had no clue who I was.
I invite anyone to read back & see just how 'friendly' these people are.
In reality the trolls on this forum are the meanest, rudest & just downright nastiest posters I've ever seen on any forum anywhere online.
I saw a post from someone last night, maybe It was you pippi, but they said that they'd seen forums where people attack each other like this, I never have. I've never seen anything like this.
Can anyone show another topic where people actually treat each other the way these trolls attack people who don't agree with them? Please do if you can bc I don't believe it, I've seen a lot of forums before.
Of course they were nice to you, you agree with them. That's how they work, you think she's in the woods they'll agree with EVERYTHING you say, no matter how stupid or wrong it is. You think she got killed they disagree with EVERYTHING you say no matter what & they'll attack you personally while they're at it.
And pippi- please explain the 'logic' you used to reach your conclusion that she got Lost in the woods and succumbed to the elements. Please explain how you think it's logical that she is in the woods.
