See, this is what happens when people posting quotations don't use quotation marks.
For Catnip, those weren't Orko's words, they belonged to Peabody. Feel free to rip on her instead.
live free or die, OR, Feel free to RIP?

Is that the question?

Here's an 'air quote' for you and your coded chatter.

IMO the HPD was in cover their ass mode at the beginning & I think that's pretty clear from the lies they told the family & the public.
Jenkins - the FBI helped in the beginning of the case to interview people in MA, then about 3-4 months later the FBI reviews the whole case to see if it is related to Brianna Maitland's case.

If at anytime the local LE was in "cover your ass mode" I'm positive the FBI would have taken over the case.

One could actually argue that since the FBI was brought in the local LE are making sure they do everything right.

The only thing that was done for the "court of public opinion" is when Maura's life was airbrushed.

Seems like details of the WB accident scene are sketchy at best. Did Brad K ever say he smelled something or what his thoughts were as to why EMS and fire were not allowed near the car?

Maybe a list of reasons why Fire would not be allowed near a vehicle? I mean if it were something potentially hazardous, fire would be who you'd want there.

With a missing driver, EMS would be the ones to help as well.

To me it seems plausible that there was something in the backseat that CS didn't want anyone to see.

Add in the question from the other Brad, "what would one expect to see in the backseat of Maura's car"?

Orko - thx for the info provided by Peabody. if the source is, in some way, verified to be credible, then it makes a good launching point.
if the source represents or is "family" then the account is biased.
again, thank you for searching and sharing. it rules in/out alot of detail.

I have no knowledge of how Peabody is linked. But she is verified to be a source from Helena Murray who is yet another family source.

Thank you for providing this. Do you know whether Peabody is a close relative of Maura’s? It may be that Maura’s immediate family (parents and sisters) closed ranks with regards to Maura’s troubles at WP and the party line was the above. It would make sense if they wanted to protect both Maura’s and the family’s reputations. I’ve never been comfortable with their promotion of Maura as the all-American girl. It’s a lot for anyone to live up to. It has most certainly helped to keep her in the media spotlight, though. Just look at the case of poor Michelle Knight. How many others have been written off by LE and their families because they have had a troubled past? I just hope that this apparent code of silence hasn’t extended to LE and Fred and the family have shared everything they know. It would be tragic to think they held back something that could be important to the investigation for the sake of keeping up appearances.
You would get no arguments from me that Maura's family has painted a certain picture about Maura that they want everyone to focus on.

However, that is an awful detailed account (if made-up) by a family spokesperson. Maura's boyfriend also backs up this account noting that Maura was planning to leave west point all along months in advance of when she actually left

Re-visiting why Maura left west point:

After looking over the family sources claim that Maura was indeed planning to leave west point during her freshman year, but because it was a process, she didn't actually get to transfer until a year later ... Coupled with JG noting that Maura was asked to leave WP on a drinking violation ...

Maybe both things could be true.

Maybe Maura was on her way out and wasn't too concerned anymore about code of conduct at West Point and she was hit up with a drinking violation (although she already had paperwork going to get a transfer out based on her own decision)

If both things happened, then you really don't have much of a scandal or a revelation.

Maura was out the door anyway (on her own call) in spite of any drinking violation.

JG has also noted at Renner's Blog, that Maura wasn't the same runner anymore and that when she got to UMASS she lost interest and eventually quit the team.

Family sources (whether you believe them or not) have noted that Maura was battling a severe hamstring injury and was on pain medication during her time at UMASS and still in athletics

Again, is someone not telling the truth.

Could both things be true.

Typical with this case. Truth seems to split and go in several directions with no one really having a grasp on what is actual truth or not. And these are things that really shouldn't be so complicated. We aren't even talking about her disappearance.

Drinking and driving is a decision. What alchol was choosen to drink was a choice.

This is why I'm here. Inbetween all this garbage of posting you can learn things.

If anyone wants to look up the words decision vs choice.

I'm sure to transfer to UMASS to be on the cross country team she would have to be open and honest with the coach for the reason why she was transferring. I see no reason why the coach would tell James Renner a different account of the truth.

the coach didn't hear (Maura's transfer reasons) from her, The coach had talked to coaches at west point and that is the reason they believed she was transferring because of (a drinking violation)., according to JG and not Renner.

Just going off what some of the cast of characters (Involved in the case) have said over the years:
1. Fred alerted police very early on that his daughter may have come to their area to harm herself.
2. At some point, Fred regretted having put those thoughts into the investigators minds.
3. Investigators explore the possibility that the rag in the tailpipe was a possible failed make-shift desperation suicide attempt.
4.(this last one is opinion) fred feels he has to explain away the rag so it doesn't support a suicide theory as he has now shifted to a boogeyman theory instead. Fred's shift to a boogeyman theory IMO was more about putting public pressure on the police to devote more time and resources (basically move rapidly) in locating his daughter. If fred keeps going to the media with the notion that a serial killer is on the loose, the public will stay hot after the police in getting some answers.
Excellent observations. I had never suspected the rag might be in the tail pipe for self harm. Hmmmmmm

The observation actually came from the lead investigating officer on this case....( I would think that would resonate with people, but I guess not).

His department was led to believe that Maura came to the area to harm herself. They did not come up with that themselves by looking at a random abandoned car that was involved in a minor accident on a Monday night.(hmm, we have an abandoned car, this person was likely suicidal yeah that makes sense).

That is what I don't understand about some posters here.

Yes, My main theory is that Maura took her own life and my theories in order on what happened based on my own research would be

1. Maura took her own life OR
2. Maura succumbed to the elements OR
3. Maura met with foul play (either at construction guy's house or from mysterious stranger lending help vie car) OR

4. Almost impossible IMO, but nonetheless --- Maura was working in tandem with someone OR

5. Maura is still alive and living splendidly in some place like Canada.

However, noting that police were led to believe Maura came up to the area to harm herself HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY THEORY. It is what happened. There are several accounts (not just police, but Maura's family members in QUOTES that back this up)

Yet I am constantly called a fabricator or someone that is one-track minded.

I have studied this case (at very great length over many years).

I would gladly change theories if any kind of logical shred of evidence points me in that direction.

It does not.

I stand by my theory that Maura took her own life.
