Generally the locals are spoken of very nicely around these parts, people are always saying how great they are actually.
Contrast that with 'the dissapeared', who gets spoken about as if she was a drunk theif who had bulimia, so she must be crazy, and was a liar who slept around. Those might not be the exact words but that's the general idea.
This whole notion that the locals are constantly bashed is just not accurate. And bill I really hope you're not talking about old shit from way before your time. People like wowzer & snowy try to portray the early MM.com forums as all everyone did was bash the locals, this is completely untrue. I really hope you're not just believing some people on the Internet. They have an axe to grind, for some reason they feel the need to complelly exaggerate what was said back then to the point that they're basically lying. Some stupid crap was said here & there but there was also always someone there saying how nice the locals really are & how good of a place it is.
I just recently spoke with someone who has both the old MM.com forums and the MMM.com e forum archived on a hard drive. Sometime in the next few weeks we're going to figure a way to post the old forums in their entirety so people can finally go back & read through them. There's a lot of interesting stuff in there & I can't wait to prove wowzer & snowy & WTH wrong about what was said back then, cuz they're wrong, dead wrong, they're full of it.
