With that said JR should be different than his blog. I don't think the book will solve all but I think it brings things just a tad closer.I do think a response from Mauras family would be helpful. The silence is one thing that just doesn't make much sense to me.JMO

Maruchan wrote: <quoted text> From Renner's Twitter Feed a couple of weeks ago: "James Renner ‏@JamesRenner 9 Sep Nearly finished with first draft of Maura Murray book. This is the darkest thing I've ever written and 100% true. Sooo many scary people." From his Facebook page last week: "James Renner September 20 via mobile (Very) rough draft of that Maura Murray true crime book is finished. 300 pages of creepiness. Lots of editing and a last round of reporting, now." Dark? Creepiness? Scary people? Is that what any of the rest of you think about from what you know about this case? From everything I've read, I don't feel that way at all. Renner doesn't know what happened to Maura. After all of his research, he has very few facts, because there aren't many. Therefore, the only darkness, creepiness and scary people will have nothing to do with what actually happened to Maura. 100% true? What, Kathleen growing pot, photos in magazines that could have been put there by anybody, Beagle's videos? From these descriptions and everything Renner has said the past, I'm sure this book is going to be a hatchet job against the Murray family and friends, all because they wouldn't talk to him. Very sad situation. My thoughts are that there isn't any proof that a crime was even committed and if there was a crime committed there certainly wasn't any evidence that someone in this area committed the crime....if there was one. He can't be talking about the people here when he mentions creepy and scary. The people here are friendly and helpful. Of course he might think the owner of the store is scary after he kicked him out of the store when he was up here asking questions and maybe our ex-chief that I think also told him to get off his property. There are very few facts and the truth is that none of us including Renner knows what happened to Maura. If anyone does find out what happened I doubt it will be any arm chair detectives on an internet forum. It will be from the work of LE who I'm sure has more information than anyone here does.

The reasoning works both ways. Continued insistence that a crime was committed with no supporting evidence is just deflecting as well. Who hates Renner the most? Who has spent years trying to paint a picture of the 'all American girl'? Who has been trying to cover family secrets all these years? Why has Fred's story changed? We all have our own bias, but the lack of real facts makes one theory no better than another. Agree to disagree but don't start pointing blame again based on flimsy reasoning that points in all directions.

BillNH wrote: <quoted text>but the lack of real facts makes one theory no better than another. I have to disagree with this a little bit. Though you might be saying the same thing. There are better objective theories and there actually is a theorem that has been in use for centuries that helps determine what theories are very likely better. Doesn't mean it is always the right theory but it helps weed out ones that aren't needed. The "best" theories are always those that can fulfill all the known facts in the simplest terms (i.e. Occams razor). Creating theories outside of the known facts or introducing "extra" items to make it fit the theory (many people here and in the previous forums love to do this) that people are trying to prove pushes them from theories into the realm of fiction or speculation. In and of itself, speculation isn't a problem. Unfortunately, in this and the other forums it was pushed beyond speculation into a mob mentality where several of the speculators didn't label the crap they were pushing as gross speculation (absolutely no basis in the known facts) and then they and others took it to be truth and common knowledge and added it to the known facts category. Not the way to run an "investigation". And harmful to the people that were involved on the periphery of this disappearance, like SBD and CW. Bill

I might also mention I think their unprovoked hatred for Renner stems from the fear of him uncovering the secrets. And of course there is nothing to point that SBD was afraid of anything he saw that night or anyone he saw. Scared people don't go traipsing around in the night searching alone for people they don't know to help with a missing person. And as far as Renner is concerned, I am spellbound by the "secrets" he has uncovered. Oh, wait, he hasn't uncovered crap except, it appears, things that her family and Maura were actually trying to keep from everyone else. Some, like the "porno" that we can't even actually tie to anyone. I'll wait until the official investigation is over to see what they come up with. Bill

Oh yeah. As a side-note. BOLO. read half, couldn't get through it. Total crap. Starts with the accident and then goes back and starts spinning this long drawn out yarn. I don't see me finishing it. Wish I could get my money back actually. In the vein of "In cold blood" but with no basis in fact except for the accident. All the rest is fiction told in a manner that makes you think its actually true. I consider this the most dangerous type of writing where there are actual facts intermixed with total fabrication. It is a campaign of misinformation. "In cold blood" was the first non-fiction novel of this type but this can't be considered to be the same type (non-fiction novel) let alone anywhere near the same quality. Bill

Sounds like Bill is a wee bit jealous of Renner. James has the balls to actually investigate rather than frequent message boards and smear people. I think you freaks are afraid of this case being solved. It would end your pathetic social lives. Everyone claims they want to find out the fate of this poor girl, but , you piss and moan when he posts stuff that goes against your theories. I say you should be thanking Renner; all of you will. It the book also.
