Not trying to make a case here, but several cases of poor witnessing. Man smoking, someone else walking around the car, the beer can found empty in the back seat and the partially rooled down window bakseat as well.

Yes, I finally see that. it's a much better blog now. Better format, etc. It's been so long since I visited the site, I didn't know.
Thanks for helping me and not laughing at me for it.

I'd try linking my map search, but the links never seem to work. I take it you don't think much of my idea. Oh well, not sure why it seemed to click. If this guy's telling the truth and someone else was in the backseat drinking and smoking, that backpack could be hers.

The overlooks on the kanc are generally not plowed in the winter hence parking at them would be an almost impossible task.Maybe someone else can speak to wether the pemi is plowed or not.

If this backpack actually was Maura's it would seem that it was likely put in this specific location by a person or persons with a fair amount of local knowledge.
I have a hard time seeing Maura doing that kind of thing. Why should she?
For a person with nefarious intent and who knows the area well it would be a different matter...

I respectfully disagree here.
Why shouldn't some bona fide person bring this up on a MM blog, which he likely only found out about quite recently?
Why would such a person go to the trouble of making all this up?
That wouldn't make any sense at all.
I believe that this person is telling the truth.
Whether the backpack has anything to with MM is of course another story.
Why would someone make this up? According to the post the backpack was found hidden away. So the poster looked through it and then told an officer how to find it? Like they drew him a map? Oh Please? Makes no sense usually something found is picked up and returned, or turned in.

No body finds a wallet on the sidewalk and then randomly tells an officer. No They pick it up and then turn it in.

When you want to believe in something so hard people believe anything. Ask Patterson and Gimlin.

Oh I agree with you but she could have been there herself, standing back, set her pack down,(or someone with her did) and forgot it,-and this is a new clue now. Or, like you say, someone set it there to taunt. Or it's nothing. Belongs to Bozo Clown.
Perhaps this Davies guy should check with LE-do they have it, did they follow up on it, did Davies say it could belong to the long missing MM and/or go look for it again. For whatever it's worth at this point. Something in there could point to the owner.
Hopefully it's not another red herring.

That's where snowmobiles come in handy and there was one spotted on the road that night.

My first thought was that someone was making it up just to add some excitement to a blog. Like the "siting of Maura with a new guy in Canada" type thing. Seemed made up. But after reading it again, googling the posters name and seeing his online profile, if I'm right, he skis, lives in NH and it could be. But why he'd use his real name is beyond me.

Anyone have a recollection of another person that posted on this forum about finding something in an old sand pit area near the old stage coach shop.He didn't name it a sand pit and gave the area a name that neither Wowzer or myself recognized. This poster had asked if Jenkins wanted to go searching again with him.I just wonder if it might be the same person jerking chains.

Ok, lol, I'm gonna find out why on my own. Should make for a good laugh after work. Thanks.
Wait a sec, I just meant you could take a snowmobile into any unplowed area, I need to listen better, hah.

Is it the same person? I don't know.

I will say this: to post on the blog, you have to enter an email address. The email address that the blog poster provided corresponds to a business website, which lists the poster's name. We corresponded through email and it checks out. In other words, he is who he says he is.

For one, the guy , if he really found a backpack, had ample time to post here, websleuths, or JR's blog. This red herring is an attempt by Green/Ledyard to get traffic to their blog. Before you know it, they'll be stalking Maura's sisters; taking stealth photos while they shop at Walmart.
