It would be easy to misunderstand what she said.

Of course he's not obligated to say anything, but by remaining silent people will wonder what his reasons are. Personally, I doubt he has anything to do with Maura's disappearance. But it would be great to hear from him. Of course, I'll be called evil for suggesting so. But so be it.
