A tremendous dislike of pomposity......interesting my dear. You? The king of Pomposity? You? Who comes on Topix to have monologues with yourself? You? Self-congratulatory you? I should start putting all of your posts in caps, so people get a better idea and see your comments for what they really are. A heady mix of intellectual incest with a sprinkle of transparent self deprecation thrown in for good measure.
***I should start putting all of your posts in caps***

That would be great!! Ridiculous is a long time poster and very much liked by many here. I can't count the times he's made us laugh uncontrollably. I think we should write a book with his funniest replies. He's THE MAN!
I think someone is a little jealous. ;)

Oh findy, hold on while I start a pot of cashmere tea...There, now this incest comment....hmmmmm...I suppose I should ask uncle daddy what you could possibly mean by intellectual incest. Self congratulatory self deprecation...Wow, that's like poetry..beautiful! Please feel free to cap my posts my dear. I was under the impression that my posts were pretty clear, but then again it's hard for an obvious intellectual stud such as myself to get down to the lower level. I hope my transparent self deprecation was a little more opaque on this one..xoxo

WOW! Ridiculous! I was wondering how soon you would post on Maruchan's behalf. I was actually going to post a comment about how you should be showing up soon. What a coincidence. People disagree with Maruchan and there you are, defending her "honor".
xoxoxoxoxoxo ;)
Thank you for all of the hugs and kisses ; ) Tell me, do you know the muffin man?

Wowzer, that makes a whole lot of sense. You *would* have to convince yourself that I was a little jealous (or some other pejorative) because of your dislike for me. Interesting, your choice of adjective. I've never seen you describe the others here who disagree with Ridiculous as you just described me. I wonder what it is about my writing that makes you say that.
Thank you, Wowzer, you just made my night ;)

By the way, although this may seem like I am providing an excuse for Sam, I am not.
DW's mother has a very heavy accent. I have known and worked with people with heavy accents, and I have worked with the public for many years where I also talked with lots of people who had heavy accents, so it's not like this was something new. I had a very difficult time understanding what she said, and I think most people would too. I had to ask her several times to repeat what she had said. It is very possible that Sam simply misunderstood what she said. He did not say in any part of his post that he felt she was lying to him, he only proposed that she was lying after I told him that she denied saying the word "killed." I absolutely believed her, she said she never thought Maura was killed and would not have said that (she reiterated this a few times, so I did not misunderstand her). It would be easy to misunderstand what she said.
I say give Sam a break and say he did not hear DW's mother clearly. It must be difficult to hear with Renner's ass cheeks covering his ears.

Wowzer, you're too kind ; ) It cracks me up...pseudo intellectuals are always trying to use the damndest words to prove their brilliance. Real intellectuals, realizing that us mere mortals don't typically function at their level tend to use fairly common language to express complex thoughts as their goal is to educate, not "strut" their stuff. At the risk of pissing him off by exposing him as an intellectual, I'm going to have to toss Bill out there as the perfect example of a true intellectual. Instead of trying to impress us with his ability to paint murals on the ceiling of the chapel. He tosses us concrete blocks that we can grab ahold of and explains in laymans terms about the necessity of a solid foundation to build on. Sammy. JG and co. build some very pretty sand castles, but there's always the tide to consider. ; )

I can't say I know the muffin man. Or, if I did, he was not memorable. However, I *do* know the muffin-top man. He spent so much time playing on the Internet and flexing his opaque, intellectual prowess that he forgot there was a real world where people with nifty little monikers didn't applaud him every time he spoke.

You flatter me so! Please, I'm blushing over here and aunt Mama says if I get to vain, I won't be able to take my sister to the prom. That would be a bummer, we had such a good time last year, what with all of the intellectual incest and such. ; )

This is tragic. Is uncle daddy too busy? I don't see why he has to be excluded from this.

Well he isn't much on reading and book learning and such. He's in quite a mood at present. Still pissed at my brother, cousin Bob for trying to marry a virgin. His philosophy; If she ain't good enough for her own kin, she ain't good enough for ours. Makes good sense if ya think about it....He's always been a deep thinker like that though.
