To clarify; my last post was two independent thoughts.
Here's a third. I find the fact that Lauren plainly disliked citigirl interesting: "CG is clearly a plant. Her webbed feet are showing. She came on topix to denounce Renner's book. That did not work. So she switched to blurring red truck, then she switched to derailing Londonderry, then she switched to derailing pings and now she is working on tracfones. I love your word 'rotate', they do this to allay suspicion." This thread at p242 c4999. Assuming that she is observer, she must find the situation quite amusing. |

Sam, can you see my post about whitenoise above your last post? I have no idea if my comments actually post any longer.
|
|
Sigh. I don't understand why some of my comments don't post. Sam, can you see my post above your last regarding poster "whitenoise?"
And I agree, if she is Observer and the author of all the Quebec posts, she really must be getting quite a kick out of the attention she has gotten. |
|
Yes, I can see the White Noise comment. Just returned home from the office; about to read the posts you cited.
|
|
By the way; here's how you can determine whether others can see your posts. Once your post gets assigned a number, view the same page as follows: if you posted on topix dot com, view it on the same url, switching the "com" with "net." If you're viewing it on Topix dot net, view it on Topix dot com.
You could also clear your cache and refresh. |

"The email to NHSP is for an email server in Toronto."
Actually, White Noise, anyone can set up his or her own "torontomail" account by going to http://www.mail.com . |
|
Thanks, and thanks for the clearing cache info. |

Absolutely a match. So she's been trolling for years, sustaining her Canada narrative. She claims -- as adagio -- to be published. I suppose that should be taken with a grain of salt. Also, adagio referenced "G_d."

This happens to me sometimes, too. Anyway, good work Sam & Maruchan. I think it's clear the author of the letter has been identified. Adagio/Lauren's posts are definitely interesting. At the end of the day, I'm not sure whoever it is knows anything. This person seems to support several theories throughout her posts. But who knows. |

Happy new year. |
I'm pretty confident that Lauren/adagio/White Noise/Tourist in Canada/observer/Canada created a story and presented it to as fact. I'd be very interested to learn LaWToC's motivation. |

Judged: 1 OK great. Now maybe you will answer this question posted Monday before the Donny and Marie show started..... ~Do you know for a fact that the geocities letter is the only support for this theory? It may certainly have been the basis for the theory, but real or hoax, if James has other support for the theory the legitimacy of the theory would remain intact, regardless of what planted the seed.~ |

I know you asked Sam, but from my perspective, if the Geocities letter is not authentic, there is no other evidence suggesting Maura is in Canada. |
First, I want to make it clear that I'm not challenging James' theory. I have said that I don't know what to make of his theory because he hasn't fully articulated. So, respectfully, I will reserve judgment for the time being. When his book is published, at the latest, I will speak to this. What I AM challenging is the theory that Maura is alive and in Canada. Here's the support for that theory: the geocities narrative and a reported sighting in Quebec, described on James' blog. I am challenging the former -- not the latter. I see no reason to challenge the latter. There have been numerous Maura sightings; in a Vermont McDonalds, in a Vermont Church, in a Cumberland Farms, on a Facebook page of a woman living in East Bridgewater, in Ireland and, now, in Quebec. If you find the Quebec sighting more credible than (or perhaps consistent with) the others, then I see no logical flaw in any potential belief that you might have that she's alive and in Canada. |
|
Now, I have been accused of working for the Murrays and I have been accused of being James' minion. I take this as evidence that I'm doing something right. If I simply defended James or defended Fred it would be a sure sign that I wasn't thinking for myself.
Now, Barre, VT, what do YOU think? |

Judged: 3 3 3 Maruchan, you, too, would have had a strong opinion about The Firecat…perhaps, like me, not as a human being because i like FC, but about her defensive commentary about all things "Fred" and "Murray". it appears as though Murray "spokespersons" like FC have been rotated in and out of Topix from time to time. hey, this family has a right to collectively represent themselves and their missing family member in whichever way they choose. the public, however, is also free to support the accused. while citi's lengthy disappearance is not necessarily a good thing, it is a real coup for whomever chased her away. again, shame on anyone who uses such tactics to silence her free speech. that said, i'm not at all impressed with Ledyard's or Renner's leads taken from Topix history. it's laughable. we've been there, done that, and beat it all to death. ha! White Noise made a final sign-off at one point, and i was skeptical about he return of posts in her moniker. you guys don't have the historical perspective, even if quoting posts, to fully discern the flow and the content in context to appreciate why conversations came to another dead end. sorry, you just can't re-enact, revive, and squeeze life out of a stone. the original White Noise was, indeed, a professional. she told it just like it was; took no prisoners. no bullshit. i've now posted twice more than i intended in a month. that's ok; sometimes one has an opinion begging for expression. |
I think you originally were challenging James' theory since he has been the only one currently exploring it. I think you would not have accomplished debunking that theory solely by hunting down the author of the geocities letter. I think the theory that Maura is alive in Canada predates the geocities letter by several years so even exposing the author as a fabricator of a story will do nothing to debunk the theory. I think you may be onto something about adagio being the author and that's a very nice thing you are doing to clear citigirl's name in connection to this letter since that is really all it will accomplish. Unless it turns out to be a factual letter of course and in that case you have done James a huge favor or redone what he already has. |

"I think you originally were challenging James' theory since he has been the only one currently exploring it."
James has referenced the geocities narrative. He didn't create it. "I think the theory that Maura is alive in Canada predates the geocities letter by several years so even exposing the author as a fabricator of a story will do nothing to debunk the theory." Source? "I think you may be onto something about adagio being the author and that's a very nice thing you are doing to clear citigirl's name in connection to this letter since that is really all it will accomplish." Thank you; in my mind, it will accomplish more. "Unless it turns out to be a factual letter of course and in that case you have done James a huge favor or redone what he already has." Although I cannot speak for James, I assume that he's interested in the truth. Do you have some reason to believe otherwise? |

Judged: 2 2 1 If you truly believe that there's nothing left to discuss on the subject, then why contribute more than a month's material discussing it? |
