In one posting you said they did search your property and refused to leave. Yet on the other hand on Sept. 12th you stated I have private property please do not search my property without telling me that you intend to-- Iam not responsible for what my dog may do to you should I find you searching on my land without telling you. One minute your saying they better not search your property and the next minute your saying they did. Interesting. and yes citi, you are confused. You said they asked permission of everyone, they did not ask permission to trespass on my acreage, nor did they ask permission of my neighbor. So unless I'm not a part of everyone, you are confused.

No Iam not confused. If you reread my posting I never said they asked permission of everyone. The 06 search was set up by the PI's. What I did state is in the Oct search of 06 is that alot of residents from that area and surrounding areas came into the lodge that day and gave us permission to search there land.

During the search at Mountain Lakes in Oct.of 06 the support of your community was over whelming with people coming in and giving us permission to search there areas. Areas that they have already searched since Mauras disappearence. Instead of focousing on all the negativity maybe you should start focousing on the good things your community did for someone they never even knew. MAURA I believe this is the posting you are referring to

I have been reading Mr Renner's blog this evening and must say that I am puzzled why anyone would take offense to his inquiry.

A couple of things occur to me at the moment - no doubt more to come. I find it somewhat unusual that FM is reluctant to speak to Mr Renner. I also find the SS owner's apparently violent reaction to Mr Renner's inquiry VERY odd. I also think it's high time to lay the "someone put the rag in the tailpipe to stall Maura's car." If that is impossible, it's very easy to prove, I would think. It seems highly unlikely to me that the rag was put there before the car came to rest. I still don't know what happened to Maura (obviously). I don't think it is impossible that she met with foul play. I don't think it's impossible that she wandered into the woods. I don't think that it's impossible that she's still alive - I certainly hope so! In many years, I have yet to see clear evidence pointing to any particular conclusion. That has always been my position, and so it remains.

I feel bad that your dog was injured. I have no clue who searched your land in Oct of 06. This search was set up by the PI's. My sister and I did not participate in this search that weekend. We stayed at the lodge while the professionals searched.

citigirl wrote: <quoted text>Wowzer I think you are interperting the sighting of the red truck on BH the wrong way. I was told that there was a red truck parked on BH the night Maura disappeared and that was quite some time later after Feb. 9th that I had heqeard this. I personally do not know whom this sighting came from. As for the women walking the dog on that night she sought us out and stated that LE was in her back yard arguing as to who's jurisdiction it was the night Maura disappeared. The night of Feb.9,04 months later we had talked to a neighbor within eyesight of the scene. This person had stated that a women had normally walked her dog around 7pm. everynight and on Feb. 9th when waking her dog she turned around and headed back home because her dog kept growling. This doesn't make sense. Who were the police arguing with, themselves? And if they were in one of those back yards then they either walked thru the snow or shoveled themselves a path as I've never seen anyone's back yard shoveled out in that area. I know who claimed the sighting of the red truck and when I mentioned I had asked people I know on BH if they saw a red truck the story changed and Mr PI then said that the person he questioned wasn't from there. Just like the story of everyone running out with guns drawn when a certain person drove into people's driveways. A dog growling at night is certainly not a strange happening. With all the deer, moose, bear, coyotes and much more dogs do tend to growl at the scents or the movement of the wildlife. A skunk kept mine growling at the window all night last night. I couldn't see it, hear it or smell it but my dog did. Finally with a spotlight I saw the perpetrater in my garden. Still can't get off the corner of BH and 112 can we? Going back again to the beginning over and over again. Jeesh!

I know that at least in one of the searches vehicles were parked on residents front lawns and gardens were trampled by searchers walking thru them. Without permission. The police had to be called to have them removed. One or more of the searchers was quite rude going to people's doors. They did not make a very good impression on some.

I hope he keeps digging until he finds out what happened to her. I'll even supply new shovels as needed. The only ones I can think of that would take offence would be someone that is guilty, doesn't want the truth known or has their own idea what happened and has a closed mind to any one elses ideas.JMHO

Citigirl - Bending over backwards to convince us how wonderful and helpful the locals were? Why tell us? Why didn't you say this to Helena Murray? You saw that she, as monitor, allowed the most heinous, vitriolic, hurtful, hateful posts attacking the local residents. You read the vile posts by Shack, Firefart, EWB et al. Now you're trying to convince us how wonderful they all were? Including poor deceased SBD? Strange, very strange.

He's trying to run a business and he and his wife have had more than their share of people coming into their business to ask the same questions over and over for more than 7 years. Some nice, some not so nice. I have to give the man credit, I would have blown my top long before he did. I'm just guessing but I bet the people are getting sick of being questioned.

There was even an article written in the North Country News after the 06 search with appreciation from our family with what good things the community did on Mauras behalf during that search.
