whomever wrote the geocities thing was probably sick of the back and forth and likely wanted to put a an end to all the mad, crazy speculation about MM's disappearance by throwing out yet another possibility. that's my take on the motivation.
i don't believe any harm was done; but, again, that's just my take.
i'd guess White Noise is adagio is Suzanne….IF she is who i believe her to be, my sense is that she might have been exploring a book option, herself, before becoming disgusted with the circus and leaving. i may be very wrong.

EVERYTHING on Renner's blog was on this forum and the website that came before it way before Renner ever even started writing about this case.

I'll give Renner some credit, he did confirm some rumors that were spoken about a long time ago but nobody ever knew if they were true or not. So he did do that, but none of them actually move the case forward in any real way that's worth mentioning.

All you have to do is read his blog to realize that most of his information is coming from Topix originally,a good percentage of them are actually about topix posts, or post from one of the older forums.

now his blog has become a little more than a gossip column. i think his book will be helpful to bring more attention to the case so it's a good thing but some of his methods and writings on his blog seem questionable to say the least.

I respectfully disagree about the Clint Journalist post. I believe that Clintjouralist corresponded with Mayotte via email. And then he copied and pasted the content of the email. That seems pretty credible to me. Is your understanding different?
I assumed that you would endorse the continuation of the Maura Murray Community. You indicated such in your goodbye post. And so it continues. I would gladly relieve myself of administrative capabilities if others think it best. I don’t care if I have any power on here; I am simply interested in Maura.

Wow read that email, damn John Greene sounds seriously paranoid does he not? Not only paranoid but looks like he has some other issues too, serious delusions of grandeur too. I love his threats, im sure sam was really shaking in his boots. Greene has "all the time, money, and wherewithal to win". Didn't he sleep in his.car in the parking lot of the woodsville walmart? last time i checked people that can afford to file frivolous lawsuits can also afford a 70 dollar hotel room for a few hours if they need to sleep. He's hey big guy too, it couldn't have been very comfortable for him to sleep in his car. I'm not trying to put in down because he slept in his car I'm just saying that it sounds pretty doubtful that he has enough money to be filing lawsuits. Especially something so ridiculously stupid as somebody reblogging his blog posts with no ill intentions in absolutely no monetary gain. so not only is John Green paranoid and somewhat delusional he also doesn't seem to know very much about the law, particularly for someone who was claiming to be a lawyer.

And how does he suddenly have so much time? didn't he say that he got some sort of job that he was going to be so busy that he wouldn't even be able to post anymore? wasn't that way he shut down the Maura Murray community in the first place? and now he has all the time in the world? I knew that story was total crap from the get go.

Strange, trollish and pathetic is a fair description.

Thinking about it they wouldn't even have blogs if it.wasn't for topix keeping the topic alive.after the MMM forum went down back in 07-08, whatever it was. This forum kept the discussion alive, and a lot of different information came out of it in the years after the MMM forum went offline. not only new information but also information that wasn't really allowed to be discussed on the original forum was also being discussed. in reality this was the kind information that renner used to start this blog.
This is just one of the many reasons that I find it rather amusing when these bloggers talk so bad about topix, maybe it's because they know that they really got most of the information here, they don't want their loyal followers realizing it so they talk trash in the hopes that their readers won't even bother coming over here, or something like that. That might not be the main reason but I would bet that that's certainly a factor in their hatred of this forum.
and you're right, they really cannot stay away from topix, that's the biggest proof that they're not being exactly honest regarding this forum. they know this is where they got the majority of their info, they know their blogs wouldn't exist without this forum and they want the traffic that Topix has visiting their forum.
That's all well and good but they still shouldn'tt talk so much trash about this place, its just stupid. and when it comes down to it they are really making themselves look bad by doing it. I'm sure some of their feeble-minded die hard followers believe them but pretty much anybody with half a brain can tell what's up for real.

i'm intrigued, mcsmom, by your once writing that Maura "saved" you. no one has been a greater historian, even if you have quietly driven and represented views that some of us have vigorously disagreed with. that brief revelation sticks with me, because you are, otherwise, so highly focused and discreet.
while i trust you will not further elaborate, i can be sure Maura's influence on you must be very profound.
on this approaching 10th, there's no doubt that Maura, in her absence, has gathered and touched many individuals for all these years, and mostly, by way of social media.

Coming here to find a neatly laid out sequence of events is obviously not going to happen. It's not what Topix is, never will be. The beauty is that every person has their say without restriction, which in reality gives you a broader point of view than you will get anywhere else. Renner's blog, Sam's blog, you get what they want you to get. Posts are moderated and can be removed if they don't want them there. It makes a nice neat narrative but it gives you a narrow perspective.

If you are honestly looking for as much info as you can get about Maura, information that will let you develop your own theory about what happened then you will be well served to start at the beginning of this thread and read it through. Yeah there is a lot of stuff unrelated directly to Maura, but the information that is in this thread you will find nowhere else. Most any idea about Maura's case has been discussed many times over in here. There are links to places that you have no idea exist with even more information. But it does not come easy. Think of it as panning for gold,(which is popular on the Wild Ammonoosuc river that runs along rt 112 coincidentally). You have to sort through a lot of pebbles and sand to find the nuggets.

If you want to be told a story then stick with Sam and James. If you want to think for yourself then stay here.

I would recommend two things however. 1) Don't insult the forum, it is what it is and claims to be nothing more and 2) If your interest here is only to find identities of posters (as you stated on Sam's blog), then please don't, it's creepy and most importantly, unnecessary..

I've tried like hell to believe that James is doing something worthwhile here. but, I've had to face reality and let go of that notion. James expresses his belief that no one is entitled to privacy. I've learned 99% of what I know about the case from sources other than Topix. This place serves a purpose, but educating people - particularly those new to the case - about Maura's disappearance, is definitely not it.
