The Code apparently originated with Fred and Sharon, as you referenced her "UMASS art vegetable" quote earlier. I'm sure they were talking in The Code because they wanted to look like grizzled insiders.:)

I like "security burrito" because I always picture a chimichanga in cop's dress blues - makes me laugh every time.:)

That does paint an interesting visual. But Fred Murray's reference to Maura as his "cilantro steak" -- I think that takes the cake.

Just got the "grizzled insiders" joke -- you know, it's funny. I was accused of trying to undermine his theories. Little did he know, I don't believe I ever made it through one of his posts without losing interest.

Anyone else believe maybe the police are involved in the disappearance? Kind of strange a State Police trooper showed up but there is no record of what exactly he did at the scene.

Just because the public hasn't seen a "record of what exactly he did at the scene" doesn't mean that no such record exists.

My comment is making light of one of JG's theories; he believed that Topix posters spoke in code; substituting "vegetable," "steak" etc. for words like "black" (Saturn) or "gallery."

The substitution seems to be some sort of a deterrent from the site that hosted Advocate's second forum from having it hosted elsewhere. Even if I'm wrong, it's not the worst theory I could come up with.

What do you make of Suzanne as observer? You two didn't get along (especially when she was Lauren). I would think that you (if you are the right citigirl) would have a unique perspective on the matter.

To clarify my theory, I believe the hosting company made the substitution so that a customer would be deterred from moving the site to a different hosting company. The code could have a rule built in to it (e.g., if "steak" display as "black").

Its an evidence backward idea that starts with what cults end up doing with regard to people that they recruit. It considers the idea that Maura might be alive and out there somewhere, yet not contacting her family, for reasons less extreme than previously considered.

There are numerous cults out there with varying beliefs, but one common theme includes isolation.

Who knows what might motivate a group to mislead and divide people who should be united in the cause to resolve this tragic disappearance. But I can't ignore that it is possible that some of the infighting might have been instigated by unknown individuals through disinformation and misdirection. Both have certainly been attempted here recently.

This is one of several possibilities. However - exploring most of them seem to be more destructive to people here and I have grown adverse to the idea as time has gone on.

I've said in the past and not only will I say it again, but, I will ask you verify it by reading what is written; John Green is nuts and the more he writes, the more obvious it becomes. I will not buy Jame's book. Yes I'm very curious about this work of fiction, but, I'll just wait for the reviews here. Not going to support this Ridiculousness.

It's one thing to Crowd source and blog and invite the general public into your "investigation". It's an entirely different thing to have these people, who have not been examined or psychologically screened, to actually physically become involved. It's terribly irresponsible and has all the potential for danger one could ask for.
I had assumed that James was holding a very different hand of cards than the one he was showing at the table. Even LE uses reverse psychology and the old good cop bad cop routine to get to the truth. I've since concluded, based on the obvious, that this is an absolute ego ride for Jame's and a simple attempt to make some money and gain notoriety. The story isn't even close to over, but the man is deeply invested and needs to re-cupe some of that investment. The book, will be published and there will be no ending chapter. A great setup of course to write another book, should the last chapter ever present itself!
People totally misjudge LE. Who the hell do you think solves cases? Blogs and online communities? Every resource that is available can contribute to the legitimate investigation, but if improperly directed, it can also have a very adverse effect. Do you people really believe you have a clue what LE has theorized in this case? Do you really think they are going to give anyone anything more than they have to? You think a few press releases and interviews contain any more information than what they want to put out there?
The old Guard here on topix keeps insisting that the general public's running around acting like "investigators" and invading peoples privacy and personal property is detrimental to the real investigation. The constant witch hunts and accusations are absurd. Hmmmm, these three or four topix posters must be complicit in her disappearance, because they are trying to muddy the waters.. It's just so bizarre that so many people follow this supposition!
Reading JR's blog lately is an education on the effect of group mentality. Everyone is so certain of how they would react concerning Fred, SBD and Maura in this situation. We have professionals here that have years of experience in these very types of situations not only explaining how a person reacts under immense stress, but, actually giving case examples! My laymens conclusion, and this is based on actually going beyond topix and educating myself through other legitimate channels; People are extremely unpredictable in these situations and make decisions that fly in the face of common sense as they are under duress . But hey, WTH and others have been trying to explain this for years and they are accused of being in on the grand conspiracy that exists to block this case from being solved. Fortunately, mr. Green has broken the dietary code that has prevented the resolution of this case and I'm certain that we are just an order of fries away from bringing home the bacon. ; )
