I am pretty sure that many of the cheap seaters would have agreed to help him as well if he reached out to them instead, knowing he was getting death threats, had they had the same expertise.

But here's the thing. The difference between the cheap seaters and you is that none of them have spent years spamming this forum.

Sam was less than kind to Ben just before asking for his expertise. cheap-seater that i am, i might have paused much longer than Ben before stepping up.

Ben's a good guy. period. i wouldn't expect you to know that, as you haven't been around that long. he's caused no harm. nothing of significance has been discussed here in some time, anyway.
Sam et al have created a good deal of their own drama.
spam is preferable to Columbo's drivel, imo, especially when he stirs the pot and taunts Beagle. all of it is pretty useless.

I will say this - I wasn't part of the John Blue gang from a few weeks
ago.

I've never done anything close to that.

But you know what? I really don't care. Except that I was getting concerned about these people in as much as they are human beings and need a rest for a while.

I also doubt anything was missed.

There are some very strange and underhanded things that have gone on here recently that I'm not going to mention. That I've learned of.

What I do see is that there are some people that spend a lot of their time throwing red herrings at people. Confusing people. All with the intent to cause people to argue. Little slights here and there that add up over time.

People are being targeted here for their opinions. I take issue with someone who is seen as an authority figure here imply that someone else, who made posts that he doesn't agree with, "knows something." I take issue with that because it sends a clear message: if you don't agree with me, I'll slander you. Next he'll probably say I'm the guy he was talking about.

I take issue with the way John Green was pounded on. I never even talked to the guy, but folks, that got nasty. The way Sam and Tyler were called "addicts."

It is unfortunate but we have tried very hard and haven't found an answer for what happened to Maura Murray. But that does not mean the "community" should disintegrate into constant attacks and dysfunction.

If you want to pick on someone, pick on me. I'm an easy known quantity and I've told you what I've done. But please leave each other alone.
