Snowy, I have never said (to my knowledge, and if I did, I was wrong) that NH is "unsafe." I will absolutely say that there are a number of unsolved murders where it is by no means clear that the murderer is not still at large and a risk to the community. This is as true of NH as it is of anywhere with unsolved violent crime. I've said it before, but Louise Chaput's case still makes me unsettled, and I would by no means hike by myself in Pinkham Notch. I also think that it's "unsafe" for any person to hike alone, and worrying about perpetrators in the woods is the least of reasons for it to be so.

There are no unsolved cases in maine? or any other state for that matter Please oh please. I will look up the stats on major crimes and I would be surprised if nh isn't within the safest top 10.Watch out for Moose

Also wanted to say (RUMOR) that there are "Dwyers" (related to Helena Dwyer?) living in Amherst --- so it's possible Maura had cousins there? Maybe 10+ years older than Maura was? Dunno -- just thinking about where Maura might have been planning to move to, out of her dorm room... There are indeed people named Dwyer living in Amherst. One of them only 3 years older than Maura.

It would be very interesting to know where this info originated. Itīs not in any of ROīs posts that I can find. So please post if you can find wherever it came from. Just a thought - is or was there any connection between this business, itīs owner or employees, to Maura or anyone in the Murray family, or maybe a friend of Maura or the family? I believe this, if true, could be highly relevant to the case. It would be equally interesting if untrue - why would anyone post such detailed information if false?

I don't remember ever hearing about a name on the truck. But then again we're beginning to hear lots of things that we've never heard before. I agree it would be quite interesting to know where it originated.

Sophie can't possibly forget all the talk about the serial killers running rampant in the NH woods and how unsafe it was to even drive through here. Old crimes tied somehow into new ones making NH into a place not for the faint of heart. Boogey men peeking out from every bush. Oh my! So very scarey.

The Londonderry ping has always seemed to me to be highly significant. I read in a northern NH newspaper (on line) that an NHLE police officer (I can't remember if it was Haverhill or NHSP) said the following: "If we knew who made the call from Londonderry to Maura's cellphone as she was driving north we would know everything." I, not realizing the significance at the time, did not save, link or post this article. But I did mention on an MM forum. This was highly significant in my opinion and apparently in the opinion of NHLE because Londonderry is in southern NH and Maura was at the time that she received the call which originated (LE's word, not mine) in Londonderry driving northward to northern NH from central MA and I have always thought that the Londonderry caller was also driving north from eastern MA. In other words they were driving parallel to each other from MA to NH for a meet up. Anyway when I posted this on the forum I was attacked so vehemently and so viciously by FireFraud that it made me realize that I had said something that must be significant and must seriously deviate from the party line. FireFraud informed me that I must have hallucinated the entire experience of reading the NHLE making the statement to the media. This is when I learned: Deviate from the party line and you will be crushed. I searched and searched but I could never again find the report of this NHLE person making this statement. I am not familiar with northern NH newspapers or media but it is somewhere out there. Although not everything is archived. In my mind at this moment I am imagining a red truck with MA plates driving from the Hanson MA area to the Bartlett/Haverhill area and calling Maura from southern NH to make sure everything related to their meet up is still on track. I hope I wrote this at least semi clearly because I am tired.
