I really hate to burst your bubble and shatter your illusions, but James Renner (vs Lauren) is indeed a member of the MM facebook group and has NOT been "banned." How quickly some want to forget that what brought me back here after a long time was my hope that Renner's new and hopefully more objective view might bring some answers.

So how can you account for the apparent fact that Renner met with some significant hostility while asking questions in NH?

Actually I think the word isn't strong enough but I was tired last night and put my thinking cap on backwards when I replied.
Well, after about 7 years of family, friends, police, PI's,reporters, strangers and God knows who else knocking on doors and asking questions over and over again I think would make anyone ugly don't you think Sophie? I think I'd get a little hostile myself if people continued to bug the crap out of me. But that's just my opinion. You might not mind strangers knocking on your door for 7 years and asking the same questions you've answered so many times before. Lets not forget too that some of the ones asking questions were rude and not so nice.

Sophie, the Facebook moderators of MMM removed James Renner's comments and instituted a policy that never before existed about not posting things that will make profit on Maura's disappearance. Unfortunately they also broke all those rules, because they linked to Nancy Grace and ID and all those other TV shows which undoubtedly paid all the people working on them. The MMM facebook mods didn't outright ban him, but they might as well have. They made it clear that he didn't have a voice there.

That's what I don't understand. Why is Nancy Grace any more legit than James Renner? Why hasn't she been clobbered for making a profit off Maura's disappearance? She's barely literate! Furthermore, she's done precisely zero independent research.

Bad police work and poor media coverage gets recycled for almost 8 years, and a real journalist gets e-clobbered. Makes no sense.

Umm, I never said Renner was banned from FB nor have I had any illusions about it. I hope he keeps digging deeper and deeper till he finds out what happened.

I can't find any evidence that any of this is accurate. He is a member of the page, and there is nothing anywhere that I can see forbidding certain kinds of posts. It may be accurate, I just don't see any evidence of it.

I didn't say that you said that Renner was "banned" - Lauren said that he was banned (you aren't Lauren are you? LOL) "When I was told that Facebook banned Renner, that was all I needed to know. I have never been there and will never go there. I would rather go to the dentist than look in on Facebook. I can only imagine who their monitor is!"

Kindly retract any statement suggesting that I find Renner's inquiry inappropriate, because I've been saying precisely the opposite for days.

My personal theory is that the family knows something of what was going on in her personal life at the time. Maybe Fred knew about the other man/men, & was trying to protect Billy during the initial search. Maybe she confided in her sister about an unwanted pregnancy. I'm not convinced the whole investigation isn't smoke and mirrors, and she isn't being hidden somewhere in the White Mountains with her babies and her books.

thank you for clarifying. sounds like the FB MMM mods, by removing Renner's comments, are conducting the same style of control and interactions that have always existed.
i'm not particularly fond of nancy grace, either. if any family wants a "judgment", bring it to nancy...she'll clobber, for sure.

If Sophie Bean had any class she would issue a retraction and an apology for accusing me of saying something that I never said and indeed never even thought.

I have seen her do these types of virulent attacks before on other MM forums and on other non-MM NH forums. Anyone can read that I NEVER said that TracFones were PROOF of criminal activity, I did the opposite, I said I own one and other posters on this forum own one.

I don't know if you are joking or serious, but there was that post on Renner about the NH bank account. The poster should be canned forthwith, it is an outrageous (and probably illegal) violation of privacy, but still ... it is intriguing, although probably means nothing.

Lauren, many people have been accusing "the ducks," in which they clearly include me, of being offended by Renner's inquiry. I have clearly and repeatedly said that I do NOT feel that way and that I do NOT find his inquiry inappropriate. I am, in fact, requesting the withdrawal or retraction of any statements that suggest that I hold such a position, because they are inaccurate at best.
