Just a suggestion. Anytime you verify a fact or statement by saying "I read it in a newspaper" or "someone posted it it on another forum, blog, etc", the accuracy of that fact or statement is questionable at best.
This is still an active investigation, whatever documents are out there now represent probably less than 10% of the total documents and evidence that exist. Trying to form opinions based on that small a view of the evidence is guesswork at best.
Yes, well said. Speaking of documents, has anyone seen and uploaded a copy of the actual affidavit, not just a cut-n-paste block of text that's been sourced to Chris King's blog? I recall a topix user "Whitewash" claims to have seen a copy just floating around the County office that was allegedly seen by chance, but there's still no proof of it's existence that I've seen. Maybe CK or someone else could upload a copy or cite a document control number that could be used to obtain another copy from the state? It would be very helpful for all to have a real document as the basis of discussion.

Funny you should say that! You attacked Suzanne too. When you decided that she had gotten too big for her boots. I'll say this for you, you are consistent. Your pattern is firmly in place and as I said before, very predictable.
you're mistaken, of course. while Suzanne had the take no prisoners signature style, she was respected for her intelligence and insight.
i am aware that 1) you feel the need to sell renner and his book and 2) insist your speculation is conclusive and valuable.
i find repetition annoying, and so i will happily ignore your silly drum beating and chest thumping.

Fact is backed up by material such as paperwork and it isn't fact when there's no PROOF! Anyone could tell this guy, hey I work in a bank and here's what I saw. I saw Elvis yesterday so that means HE LIVES!
essential 'facts' are scarce on this topic, but are presumed to exist at the level of the official investigation, which is as it should be.
i've previously commented on renner's teller post, and agree with you that facts exist as truth because they have been proven.
i am not inclined to read a book based on speculation, opinion, hearsay or gossip. there has been plenty of fiction to read right here where it's free.

I have a distinct distrust of people when $$$$ is involved. While Renner has done some work, a good author backs up what he says with Affidavits or solid evidence. We get a lot of heresay from Mr. Renner, while it may be true but as the old TV commercial went, " Where's the beef!" I do think Renner has done some homework but I also think its possible he's being baited. Authors have been known to embellish and jump to conclusions.
Sensationalism sells and the mainstream media is living proof of it. I also feel IF the bank account story was true wouldn't LE cold case unit check it out? Doing so would save the state resources on a cold case if they discovered her alive and well.
Just like the original Woodstock, if EVERYONE who claims to have been there was it may have numbered millions! People want to be important and sometimes witness's and people with information inject themselves into these things with fabrications.
When it comes to mysteries like Maura, many seem to believe what they want despite lack of proof. The only real proof we the public have since the accidnt is, she is missing.
When
very well stated.
i am amused by the name of a registered poster on this page...."Pointless Endeavor". it is just that.

I think its a bit arrogant or naive for a police officer to say if we knew who made the call we would know everything. As I stated previously the call could have been anyone including a company. Rite aid calls me all the time when a script is ready or for a survey. If Todd Landrey actually said that then I have little confidence in his investigative experience and skill.
It is a strange statement made by Landry, but I wouldn't base my opinion of his investigative skills solely on that example. He was instrumental in identifying the perpetrators of the Zantop murders in 2001, If I recall, by tracking the purchase of the murder weapons through the internet.

Landry is one the the best Investigators in the State, probably top 5 surely top 10, in my opinion, he learned from the best there is, I have worked with them all. He is a no BS guy, very driven and analytical.
I tend to doubt the accuracy of the report where he makes that statement.

i trust a book is well under way. writers write to earn a living and to advance their literary reputations.
i suspect renner didn't just appear out of the blue; i wouldn't be surprised to learn he is collaborating with a source who has been following, investigating, and has been fully engaged in the "community" of blogs and forums since day one.
the only surprise is the timing; there is no conclusion, as yet, to the story of M's disappearance. abduction, murder or suicide are unproven.
it is no wonder the "family" is resisting, and a surge of comments and statements are appearing here and on renner's blog. the FireKitty, second in line behind Helena, worked very hard to block access to info about M's past. there was palpable hatred toward her, and personal attacks directed at her in this contest. after all, access to that coveted info would substantially enhance the book's content.
i'm satisfied that the elephant in the room has been identified; time to relax and watch this develop.

I will never forget the Zantop case, outstanding work by NHSP, one of the most horrific, saddest cases ever. Todd Landrey did brilliant work.

I totally agree. I don't have the time, skills, know how or connections to track down a legal document in NH. I suspect there are people on this forum better positioned to do so. Also if they could track down the media source who interviewed Todd, where he made his now "controversial" statement, that would be helpful. Thank you. And yes Whitewash said she saw and read the original affidavit.

judgers - don't be sad or mad or fuming or clueless....this is a good thing. the research will, assuredly, be well done, and the product of the investigation will not be the story told according to the party line that has always been defended.

As to whether Mr Renner is being "baited" - it certainly wouldn't be the first or last time that CK has tried that tactic. I hope that Renner is smarter than that. It's pretty obvious what CK wants here - he was desperate, though unsuccessful, in "proving" that Maura's disappearance was the fault of his "cause celebre"and that person's (teenaged) son. Yup, right.

I hope it doesn't turn out as so many other sites and blogs did and be overtaken with personal vendettas, links to personal blogs that provide them with more hits on Google and self bragging about how smart and wonderful they are.
I haven't seen much interest from Chris King concerning Maura Murray and I doubt he has much to offer as his business in the north country concerned mostly other vendettas as far as I know.

I've said this before, and I think it's worth repeating. Someone knows one piece of what happened, and maybe one person knows exactly what happened. Perhaps friends, acquaintances in MA know one piece - or more - of something and for whatever reason have not shared it. I believe that someone in Swiftwater or the surrounding area knows more than we've heard, again, for whatever reason. Perhaps both sets of information are significant, from NH, from MA. Perhaps only one is ultimately significant. There is a reason for those who know more to keep silent. It may be relatively innocent, or it may not be. I wonder if we can ever know more here.
