Judged: 2 2 2 Agree, each dog is limited by its training, intelligence, willingness, time transpired and elements. While dogs are capable of amazing feats of tracking, usually its because everything fell into place for perfect tracking conditions. Every time I go to buy a used car I take my dog to sniff out a good deal, I spend all my spare time fixing cars, but one of these days she'll hit pay dirt! |

You are also claiming several victims are in the area of Hulbert Outdoor Center. Hannah, Hulbert Outdoor Center area? I believe I'd mentioned the Fairlee VT area, not the Hulbert Outdoor Center area. Although you and I know we are referring to the same area, is there any particular reason as to why you've referred to the Hulbert Outdoor Center area? Thanks. |

Judged: 1 1 Yes, there is. Namely post #2524 by Rozshoem from Rush, NY - YOU that is: "I posted my source about the "flat tires" if not on this forum on the Network.... forum. May have addressed my comment to Bill (WTF). I believe there is some kind of facility (?) center(?) or business (?) there and several acres of land (remote but w/several accessible roads, trails. Team building sorts of skills, survival, endurance training, etc. taught there, I believe. Will refer back to my Fairlee folder and will get back to you. Thanks." As far as I can tell, Hulbert is the only facility of this kind in that area? |

Judged: 1 1 1 Hannah, While I do know of the Center (facility), I am more interested in the sparsely populated woodland area (several hundred acres)...the land that extends from the VT border westward around the Center. If you are interested in or believe in typologies in terms of a criminal's mobility, this guy who is cruising the highways would fall into the classification of "trapper." In other words, he encounters a victim in an area/environment over which he has control (Route 112 for example, MM's disabled Saturn; PW's disabled truck). However, he is organized, mobile and geographically transient to the extent that he is body-dumping/disposing of bodies in areas away from where he first encounters his victim. He is doing this for a number of reasons, but primarily to reduce his risk of being detected and to confuse LE. He's geographically transient in that he at times crosses borders...most often from NH into VT. |

Judged: 2 1 1 If indeed Maura Murray was abducted, my personal opinion is that it would have been a crime of opportunity. Your posting indicates intimate knowledge - am I reading you correctly? Lady Gray, Intimate knowledge. No, I do not believe so. However, this should not be ruled out. In MM case she had spent several years visiting Bartlett and surrounds. She may have met someone, known someone from that area. This is always a possibility. Given LC's age and love of the mountains, it would be reasonable to assume her visit to the area where she was found, was not a first-time visit. Several people believe that someone may have followed her from Canada. This would seem unreasonable as the killer would have been fearful of detection (border authorities, documentation, recording of information at border crossing site, etc). Could she have planned to meet with someone? Had she met with someone before? Possibly...especially is she'd visited the area before. Possibly this is why the sleeping bag was missing. Person wanted no evidence left behind. |

Assuming you´re referring to Beauregard & Rossmo: Trapper type serial offender "has a certain position or occupation or creates a situation that allows him to meet potential victims in the area he is covering as part of this occupation". I´m guessing this classification would pertain to him either being a police officer or posing as one? I´m furthermore guessing his mode of attack would be that of an ambusher: "attacks a victim only after she has been enticed to a location controlled by the offender". So why would he dump the bodies in the woods near Fairlee/Hulbert Outdoor Center? Because he worked or lived there? Wouldn´t that be just plain stupid, dumping bodies close to a place he has ties to? |

Hannah, You seem to be zeroing in on the Center, while I'm considering the large number of acres in that vicinity. Connectedness to the Center? Possibly, but we have no way of knowing that. Many of the victims were outdoor enthusiasts, however, so your point is well taken. Possibly some connection. It is something to consider. While I do know the purpose and services offered by the Center (facility), I had been more focused on the remoteness and easy accessibility off I-91 of the Fairlee area. Consider him traveling I-89, I-91, I-93 and of course not forget Route 302. When he's working Route 302 and I-93 he's using Franconia and northward (off I-93) as disposal sites; that had drawn much attention...especially MM's disappearance and therefore at least for a while had need to extend area for body disposal. Consider the circumstances of evening of Feb 9....he needed to head somewhere quickly. What better choice than off I-91, Fairlee wooded area. Consider the accessibility. Too much police activity in the Route 112 area on vicinity the evening of Feb 12 and over the following weeks, months, years. |

Actually, this is a fairly common thing for people in northern and even central New England to do while driving home on a winter night. |
