Maura Murray

How secret was the secret boyfriend? How many people did know? Fred was said to have met him at the pub with Maura and Kate M the weekend before the disappearance. It seems at least some of Maura´s friends knew. And Fred if reports are correct.

K9 speaks with the same accurate details regarding the gloves as I recall.

Today, despite the rain and fog, my travels took me to within 800 ft of the summit of Mt. Mansfield. Of course my thoughts turned to Maura, her phone call to GOSTOWE, The Long Trail, and the bottle of beer she presented to Fred at the summit in celebration.

Thinking of the many momentos found in her car, I wondered if perhaps the bottle of beer found in her car was in fact the same one she gave Fred at the top of Mt Mansfield.

I would have thought for sure - Helena would have shared with you if it was indeed that brand of beer.......... I do agree - she did pack up her room and take with her the most treasured items she owned....why would she do that if just getting a way for the weekend? why pack up the dorm room ?

why pack up? what on earth happened during that phone call ? the technology was there - why don't we know for CERTAIN who was on the other line. Why didn't we ever get an answer. why ?

why the secrets? the one way communication is frightening. I have to wonder how the converstion went to get the haverhill pd to not even want to deal with anyone on this case. if you are saying its not important then... they are ticked off to begin with or feel someone is holding back info

Wonder what else was in that car we haven´t heard of... maybe stuff found in it is the reason they´re still keeping it...

My reason for dragging it up was simply to give an explanation to the presumed mens gloves being in her car. If she had another boyfriend besides Billy, it wouldn´t be strange for him to be in her car at some point.

that certainly gives your comment context and relevance....although i am recalling, and bracing for another round of Eurobserver's lengthy, unsubstantiated, highly speculative musings about the 'seekret' boyfriend.
bottom line, the intensity of the discussions, and the luxury for many to have been wildly speculative in their considerations about her disappearance have brought forward nothing of value.
it's oddly irritating to see the ants coming out of the wall only to rehash.
yes, hannah_b, do beware of slipping the name of an innocent, especially in considering the history of these forums.

Ok but where were these gloves? It must be ok to discuss them, so were they in the front seat or something? People mention a possible meeting at the pub with this strange new guy. Strange because why doesn't he count if any of this is true? Sharon did say on Discovery program that her and Billy "were aware" that there "could be" another man in Maura's life. Why all the hinting. It would tick me off when this is said and done to find that insiders connect this man somehow to Maura's demise. It might go something like this:
I am Maura, and I am in knots. I like this new guy, we laugh and he's right here in my town. When I call Billy, I can't bring myself to let on that I am unhappy and want to call it quits. He could sense that on the phone the night I wrecked my dads car. I felt like I'd been caught in a way because I was even out that late. I was meeting up with whosits and trying to get over to dads to talk about it. Nobody will understand. Dad already seemed kinda wierd about it and so I'm not telling. I should, but I don't know how. The things I've packed up, and the things in my car seem like enough said.
I'm either about to be tricked into the worst mistake of my life (to include trying to call Billy Tuesday), or I am ok and the privacy laws will cover me while I start a new life.

Oh, and unless someone else packed up the Saturn, there were pajamas in the trunk, neatly packed. Going along the lines of running off and maybe even kissing the mountains and memories goodbye, Maura doesn't seem to be about to do herself in. Maybe someone else has that idea, but she has pajamas and food, mixes for drinks and things that matter to her, with her. She either knows the red truck is following her, or not. She is either run off the road, or not. Someone has covered the bases and there's a girl who will finish driving the car into the White Mountains or down BHR or something. Maura has a chance to call Billy and realizes she can't get through. She has her calling cards on her and doesn't want him to know where the call is coming from. She's either reaching out one more time, or once and for all in this mess she's gotten herself into. Fred is suprised to learn that Maura was going to be engaged and so decides to keep this "other guy", a secret. Big mistake if so. Calling all cars and looking for her over and over again where the car was found doesn't fit in. So who knows, blah, blah. The A frame, the blood found, all the other crap, lost carpet samples, lost info, blaming the area DOES NOT MAKE SENSE if there is another "man" to be looking at. Share that info dangit, that's if you want to find her and there's any truth to this idea.

She is probably nowhere in the US...

A possible boyfriend in the Amherst,MA, area MIGHT conceivably have been driving Maura´s Saturn at times, and could possibly have been involved in the Vasi hit-and-run case.
If so, this may well have precipated Maura´s frantic journey up north.

Thursday night/Friday morning:
I've got to work the security job tonight. I'll make a couple of quick calls, get a couple of quick calls and then call Kathleen over at Tims folk's place. It's about 10:20 and I need to get out of work early....OR....I'm out of my freaking mind. What did he do to my car, OMG. I better get a new car, any car....I don't need to be walked back to my dorm, I have a roommate. Worried? You're all worried about me? Counceling? No, please, I'll be fine and DD sounds good if you can get ahold of me. Kathleen thinks I faked it all to get out of work but her lips are sealed. Police will have to prove that we even spoke for her to verify it. Shit, I'm calling for pizza I'm so upset.
It's car shopping and brew pub time now.....

A car in 3 weeks? I need it now. Just lay back I tell myself. Go to the party at the dorm. Have a sky Blue malt and wine and just leave around 2:30.
What have I done? Police were all over Dads car and I'm going out of my mind again. Was it even me driving? Is that what they think now? I've got to get out of here....I'm not saying a thing to Sara today at work, and when I get home I'm making some calls and then POOF. They'll only get messages on Monday. Did I mean for things to go this way? I've got the money. I've got the mixes and such and the car has been packed,~there's food and everything that could even matter to me everywhere in the car.
The Onion would love this, oh the irony of it all. No proof of gas breaks or rest stops on the way to a dream. Claims of 2 videos that you'll never see and nothing but theories going around and around, and around for 6 years, counting.
If you happen to see the truck with MASS plates, just look the other way because why would it matter? I mean, the chances of 5 or 6 cars going by was a quote to remember........

My apologies for the fragmented sequential theory.

The problem with the above senario is that LE could have made the wrong assumptions as to the occupants of the car at the scene.
I suppose it could have even been a circumstantial factor in the failure to release the documents.

It is POSSIBLE that Maura was not alone. Did Faith really see a man in the front seat? If so could one pair of the gloves belong to him.?

The man Faith may have seen: Was he a good guy or a bad guy?

Butch stated that Maura never left the drivers side of the car by the front door area w.\/ the door open. Could there have been someone on that side of the car w/ Maura, hiding from whomever? If it was a bad guy was he telling Her what to say to Butch to get him to go away? Make sense.!

What if the red truck at Winnie's store was looking for Maura....for good or bad reasons.?

If There were let's say 2 people in the red truck, one gets in w/ Maura and the other follows in the truck. When the accident happens on the corner, here is Maura and the other person @ the scene, alone. The red truck is close behind or maybe even in front of the saturn and then Butch comes along in the bus. He talks to Maura and then leaves. While he is parking his bus, which while doing so would not have visibility of the scene. Did this red truck then pick up Maura and possible passenger and drive away w/o Butch seeing it happen.? Make Sense.!
