thanx for being polite. the reference is usually another word.
nah...NH just has it out for us. so i don't go there. but a new outlet center in Merrimack coming in June will be irresistible.

I agree, and there wouldn't have been anyone in the car if it were being towed.
I once was the driver in a friends car that we towed with a rope about 20 miles. We moved around 25 mph and it was the most nerve wracking experience I remember. Try being 8 or 10 or maybe 15 feet away from a vehicle at 25 mph and not hitting them when they go to stop and all the turning when driving. This was with a much older car. One that you could actually attach the rope or chain to the bumper.

I would still like to hear DC tell us where to attach a chain or rope to a Saturn for towing.

the search for maura was said to have been in a 5 mile radius. I would like to see a search go further down 112 towards the Campground. If CW sighting had merit and she did succumb to the elements then she might be outside the 5 mile radius that was searched.

I agree bill, I thought that after i had posted. I was thinking that the posting was talking about a real tow truck towing her. I misread the previous post.

Is this the whining and Blah Blah you were referring to in the your last post or is this the example of repeating the same thing over and over?
i assure you...that until i see any and all of the cruel Pointy Boots Brigade/aka Ducks fully and retroactively retract their false accusations and hateful stereotypes about "local" NH residents, i'll not only persist in being an PIA, but i'll be quick to call out that behavior on behalf of anyone else they systematically choose to blame and ruin.
SBD died with that stigma.

"Around mid-afternoon Tuesday, Fred Murray called Haverhill P.D. "What I was told was that the first thing out of Fred's mouth was,'She's gone to the North Country to commit suicide, to go off and die like an old squaw."

That is just very odd that he would say this. I thought fred thought everything was ok and he had told her that insurance would have covered most of the accident.

When all of us are out and about this week and spot a 1996-ish Saturn we should maybe ask the owner:

'Scuse me ma'am, could I take a peek under your bonnet to see where I might attach my recovery strap?"

long, long ago....i, too, mentioned what is obvious, as you just have above.
it's a huge risk to drive a car in poor condition.
everyone (yes, even a 21 y/o) knows you can easily get stopped in MA, but especially in NH with MA plates for even the most minor driving infractions....like not having a functional light over the tag, or even for using high beams if a headlight is out. i wonder if her MA inspection was even up to date?
Good question, her car may have had difficulty passing an emission test, but there are still a few lick and stick inspection stations around if you know the right people. Much depends upon the software in the machine testing the car and the states stipulations if you fail.
My truck ran fine all year, a week before I had to go for insp. the stupid check engine light comes on and $150.00 sensor later I pass.

I had a 1992 or 1993 Saturn, there isn't much but I think you might be able to get to the A frame, BUT a higher vehicle is going to raise the chain or strap and likely destroy your plastic bumper and with Saturn's there was a lot of plastic. While they didn't dent they sure did shatter!

I caught that also many posts ago and mentioned too it is quite a bizarre statement and unless it was a valid thought why the hell would anyone say it and then Fred backtracked perhaps in fear they may not search as hard if they thought she were dead.

Great questions. Let me help. THERE IS NOTHING NEW IN THIS CASE! That is why it hasn't been solved. It is a bore and I only stay to keep the unicorn riders from rewriting the entire case online.

Now, here is the better question. Why is it after eight years, YOU think you and the other newcomers are so much smarter that all the people that have come before you. I mean after looking at the case THERE IS NOTHING NEW IN THIS CASE! That is why it hasn't been solved. All those that came before you were idiots? All the cops, all the detectives (the real ones), all the amateur sleuths here since the beginning were all morons? It's pretty arrogant of you and the others to think that you must be that much smarter than all those others who came before you. Seriously, with all the eyes that have looked at this case from the start, including the professionals. Do you really think that you are the one to break this case wide open? Are you that good? Do you have an established track record that would allow me to think that you are better than everyone else involved? I am supposed to take you and the others seriously???

Bill

Bill,
In response to your, "THERE IS NOTHING NEW IN THIS CASE! That is why it hasn't been solved."
-Your continuing to shut people down, works to ensure no new information will ever come in.
In response to your telling Mauracomehome, "Do you really think you are the one to break this case wide open?" Even if Mauracomehome would not break the case "wide open" as you say, he/she would be providing his/her own unique insight which might be even some small piece that would link some information of which two other people might be aware.
Bill, it is not a matter of "being smarter than"....it instead is a matter of several ways of thinking and of working together as a team. No matter if 1,000 people look at the same information, one person may come along and offer a unique view of the information. There are other ways of thinking, Bill.

You are entirely correct. So how do you tow that car with a chain or strap and not leave any real visible evidence. Not asking you, you know the answer. Waiting for the person who threw this turd over the wall to tell us.

Old about 5" 5''ish, thin, that's what he looked liked 20 years ago and I am sure his hair is white if he still has any. He's been a resident of the area I believe all his life. He's got to be in his 70's. Trust me if you met him you'd remember, I haven't seen him in years but a family relative said he was still alive last year.

jwb,
To say it is very odd is an understatement. This does not sound like something Fred would say.... In my opinion, Fred as well as many others, were much more interested in where some guy had been for approximately two hours. I recall Fred asking that question on a number of occasions.... As far as I know, Fred's question was never answered. Why? How would an answer to Fred's question harm an investigation?

NHwoodsman52,
While the front end of the Saturn is interesting, the back of the Saturn may have proven equally interesting, but photos of the rear end of the Saturn have been removed from websites. Does anyone know why?

And remember early on when fred had a press conference (i believe it was) and he pleaded with Maura that they could "bang things out" Something must have transpired for fred to think Maura was in that frame of mind. He made it sound like things were fine about the accident.

jwb,
A "reasonable man" (or woman for that matter!) might interpret that statement to mean that they could work things out. When he last saw Maura, he may have concluded that any anxiety she MIGHT have had over the accident with the Toyota, had subsided to a tolerable level. "If" he later made a comment about working (banging) things out, he may have wanted to cover ALL bases...just in case Maura had reconsidered the accident and had possibly again become anxious about having damaged the Toyota. Fred was offering what most normal people would consider to be "reassurance" just in case his daughter was listening to the broadcast and was in need of reassurance. Reassurance is a part of good parenting. Fred and his wife raised two daughters who attended WP. In my opinion this is NOT the reflection of bad parenting. It is a fine example of excellent parenting.
