I believe there was some mention that Maura preferred to drive, or Fred suggested to Maura to drive secondary roads as opposed to major highways. There was some issue with radio transmissions between LE and State Police. The town meetings minutes were posted online and it seems like there was a need to correct this, and upgrade their communication operating systems. This led to question how Monaghan was in the know about the accident, or did he happen upon the scene on his way back. Scarinza told Maribeth Conway that he would check into getting her an interview with Monaghan but I don't think she ever heard back from him. I remember reading RO did an interview with Monaghan for some school essay or such, and asked some questions about Maura. He reportedly refused to answer questions about the timeline.

Beagle is presumed to have died in 1966 after police found his car abandoned on the side of a NH highway. It is believed that he was drunk and left the immediate area on foot in an attempt to evade arrest for driving under. Because he had left boxes piled up in his dorm room and had told his professors that he would be attending a funeral, the conclusion was drawn by law enforcement that he had killed himself. The possibility of foul play was never seriously entertained or explored by police. The benefactors of his life insurance policy paid off their mortgage and went to the Galapagos in his honor.

Two questions: 1. Is RO the real name of this witness, or just a pseudonym? 2. Does anyone here have a clue as to RO´s approximate age at the time of Maura´s disappearance? Thanks!

It´s a pseudonym. 2. I guess one of the local posters could answer your question. I too was under the impression she was quite a bit older than Maura.

According to phone records as shown on ID Disappeared she talked to Billy for something like 7 min after having a rather lengthy conversation with her sister. It makes me believe the contents of those two conversations were somehow connected. I sure hope she didn´t find out her sister too had had an affair with him... At one of the early searches Kathleen reportedly called Maura a drama queen, or something to that effect. Would kind of make sense...

She also claimed to have psychic capabilities and it seemed she wanted to give the impression she knew more than other posters.

You pretty much summed her up there. IIRC she used to dream about nasty perps plotting to abduct Maura in the Swiftwater/Woodsville area. Quite dramatic and rather creepy.... I never realised that she claimed to be some kind of relative of Maura´s, though.

Wow Beagle, your blind denial astounds even me, and I have seen some things in my life.. I can tell you this for fact, for the time I worked this case those facts I related were very relevant to the investigators. Just not to you apparently. Go with what you think, it's all good with me, I'll leave you to it.
