I think it's good that he cleared up his relationship with MM.

Years later, my wife learned from a private investigator hired by the Murrays that this man's ex-wife had accused him of spotting Maura at the gas station down the road, stuffing the rag in her tailpipe (believing that it would cause her car to break down?), picking her up at the intersection (this is where the dogs lost the scent), driving her the short distance to his house, and taking her inside to rape her and eventually kill her. His ex-wife supposedly claimed that he dumped her body in a lake.”

Saw this on another site. Wonder if the ex-wife could possibly have posted this?

i didn't give you permission to speak for me.
1) several of us have agreed (before our time) that there is a sustained "entertainment" factor, given the extreme nonsense, past and current, here on Topix. i'm rarely amused....but pull enough out of the conversation to keep interested.
2) she lied. that is true. and the implications for important and lesser lies is unknown, relative to her disappearance.
3) the official investigation, whether cold, tepid or hot....are keepers of facts. i merely encourage fact-based arguments, whenever possible.

Frosty, no Snow here in MA. what's the problem this winter? any insight?

I am open to other theories, I have stated previously anything is possible. I am just in my opinion basing it on what I feel may be most logical from the few facts available. I did state she may not have even concluded suicide but mother nature may have sealed her fate which has been my number one theory, hypothermia. This was about almost as perfect a hypothermia storm as you can get.
Highly likely she had consumed alcohol, IF that was Maura the contractor saw she exerted herself. To our knowledge she didn't have the items needed to prevent hypothermia and may not have even been aware she was in danger.
As I have stated in the past hypothermia is a nasty condition that catch's one off guard. Often hypothermia is mistaken as fatigue, and if hypothermia isn't addressed quickly it doesn't take long for one to enter a danger zone that can be almost impossible to recuperate from and death results.
The bigger problem with hypothermia is you lose your ability to function physically and mentally. One becomes delusional and then any ability to make sense of your situation and rectify it is gone.
I have had moderate hypothermia twice, once atop MT Washington and I recognized and had the right clothing and body warmers to address it. The second time I was not far from home stubbornly sitting on a deer stand and got out of the woods ASAP.
A case that comes to mind is that of a woman who was on her way home from party with her husband, who drove the car. They crashed, husband was killed instantly. The woman, Tanya something?, wandered
away into the winter night, dressed in slippers and an evening gown. Was missing for months iirc. All sorts of crazy stories emerged, like her hiding out at the home of a secret boyfriend. When the snow melted she was found in the middle of an open field near a farm. Not a wooded area at all and only a few 100 yards away from a busy road. Just sayin´.

Forgot to mention the autopsy showed no injuries from the crash, the woman died of hypothermia, and had wandered off in the opposite direction to where she could have gotten help.

i remember reading about that...but like so many others, she was found. this mystery is so peculiar by the length of time it's been unresolved.
periodically, there's an APB on Topix for anyone who's disappeared in New England. predictably, all jump in with the serial killing angle. equally predictably, there is no relationship to the MM case. still, the pattern isn't recognized...little discernment for differences that are usually evident....and the same behaviors and dances are repeated over and over again. silliness.

Just a little piece of advice, if you are trying to make a joke, it's always best to try to make some sense, I have no idea what you mean stupid.
I bet You were an interrogation/litigation specialist when You were with LE. How did calling people stupid, dumb, idiots, retards Etc. work out for You.

That is probably why You HAD TO RETIRE.

Did You have ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES?

I knew a guy many years ago who owned a body shop and was a very angry man. You remind Me of him so much.

Sometimes these things are so bizarre people don't want to or refuse belief it. Speaking of hypothermia its about 2 degrees here with a wind, took my dogs outside and I was wearing a goose down vest and still within minutes I was shaking.

LOLOL, gotta be honest with you, I am the least angry person I know. Nothing makes me happier than watching you squirm when called on your layer upon layer of LIES. Detective Columbo, what a crock.

You were never a cop, are not a PI, you are probably a jerkwad garbage man. Get a life, I retired after 22 years, 17 with NHSP with a plate number that started with a 10X.

Whats your obsession with 'bodymen'? Why is every post about bodybuddy's? I think I know, psst its cool, its your business.

And how do you know I dont have kids in LE?

Get used to being called on your lies, might be a good time to take a break from this forum liar.

I have never been one to jump into the serial killing angle and have never stated this in any of my postings. when you state there is no relationship to the MM case are you stating this on proven fact or just your opinion? thank you

I have to take some exception, while I have seen this trait in Law Enforcement officers,I have seen it with many other professions as well. The thing is LE has to base a case in court on FACT! Due to this they tend to operate on fact, gray areas don't hold up in court and a grand jury usually won't indict based on hear say or gray area evidence. Do they think outside the box, sure but they have to dedicate their focus on what evidence they have and on past experience and statistics which bear out the highest percentage of likely hood.
Second I have found that usually the answer to many things is SIMPLE, sometimes answers are so simple they are easily overlooked, and some refuse to believe in the answer. Do LE's make mistakes, sure and I feel sometimes due to the daily onslaught of seeing mostly the bad of society its easy to get jaded.
Look at scientists, some of these people are the worse offenders of black and white syndrome. Just bring up the UFO topic in the scientific community and see what you get! Having been with Air Force Space Command most of my career, having been an adviser on battle staff and disaster preparedness for years and having one on one contact with those in the know I beg to differ with these scientists. The sheer definition of UFO is Unidentified Flying Object, it doesn't have to be from another planet, its just FREEKING UNIDENTIFIED!!! We all have our opinions and biases, its called being human and that's what makes us interesting, and annoying.
you basically agreed with the article from what you wrote? not sure what you said was any different

My intention with mentioning this case not to imply any relation to Maura´s case. I just wanted to point out how difficult it can be to spot a body even if close to a road and in an open area, and that hypothermia makes people do irrational things.
