I think refraining from attacks is a good start. If you get frustrated that you have heard something before just chill out. The attacking is what sidetracks any constructive and or normal back and forth conversation. I think if everyone justs let people voice their thoughts then they will be able to work out what is fact vs fiction on their own. i am quite certain you don't have the history of participation and recognition to make that judgment. specific to Topix, not to mention a number of other forums, there have been very, very complex interactions. that is, unless you have participated over time under different monikers, which, in itself is an issue. do you not recognize your own "attacks"? are you blinded by your own ego and eager postings? it is not a valid recommendation to suggest "everyone just let people voice their thoughts then they will be able to work out what is fact vs fiction on their own." no, that is a waste of time and air space, especially when fiction implicates innocents...victims of people who unjustly accuse. that is an issue we face here every day. so, by your suggestion, it will be necessary to "police" truth from fiction....hourly, daily, weekly. at least here on Topix.

Thanks and......i agree with you about how we might be harming someone, even if it's only indirectly, it may still harm someone. I've seen it, I've done it and have always fet bad about those early MMM forums. Example: let's talk about if the bus driver did it. How would he be able to get it done, blah, blah and so on to the contractor and down the line. I speak for myself when I say I didn't think about how trying to help answer that, and even against that would be like fuel to the already burning fire in these peoples lives. Word gets around, oh my. It's all very unfortunate.
