looking4amoose,
According to "WTF" in a post dated 12-23-2008:
"Pauline Clark, Audrey Groat, Pamela Webb, Louise Chaput either went missing or were found murdered in close promimity of where Maura went missing. Pauline Clark was found one month later deceased within yards of the A-Frame." This must be our WTF who cruises this Forum? WTF...are you out there?
Let's define mere yards......the a Frame is on Valley Road....cross Valley Road, pass byt he baseball field on the right, then pass by the tennis courts on the right (2 courts), then proceed by the skating rink on the right. Take the right by the skating rink and proceed up the mountain about 200 feet. The stream she was found in is over there near where the mechanics are/were for the ski lift and snow maker. I'm told that the A frame was owned, at that time, by Pauline and her husband (a doctor?) and wasn't rented to the couple that was renting it when Maura disappeared. The man (of the couple renting the A frame) is said to be the brother of the now deceased man who is said to have turned the knife over to Fred. I have not located the tax records to verify who owned it at the time of Pauline's disappearance.

Gee...if only there was as much focus on attempting to find Maura as there is about nailing her for over-the-counter medication! Saints alive! What next?! Just because she had a container of Tylenol in her car...does not mean that she had taken this medication. A little late for a ticket, don't you think?...and for Tylenol? What next?
In a now defunct forum, a relative of either Maura or her boyfriend was quoted as saying that Maura took it periodically to help her sleep and as a pain reliever for an injury from running.

I think you misunderstood my post..lol.
Advocate was saying maybe it was possible she ran a lot further than we think.(not an actual quote) So I was just bringing up the fact that Firecat always claimed Maura had a pulled hamstring at the time.(Also claiming, this was why Maura had the TPM, so she could sleep at night because she was in pain.)
If that were true, not sure she could get very far.
Oye vey....last night i was so tired, nothing came out right I see.
I didn't read back far enough.
Thanks for clearing that up.

and, just a thought....how would FC know MM pulled a hamstring? it took months for FC to identify the specific injury. her credibility is less than 50% on the meter, given so much conflicting, partial and misinformation has been floating from that direction for years!
then...to make a leap to how the injury might have been treated is just not reliable. jmo.

Does anyone else find it curious that "Witness" was interviewed by a private investigator on February 15, 2004 and by LE on February 19, 2004 yet only recalled the cypher running 4-5 miles down the road, when he mentioned it to W at SSS in late April, 2004?

In FM's letter to NH Governor Benson (May 2004) he writes:

“Recently, nearly three (3) months after the accident, a motorist (“Witness”) who was driving west on Route112 at about 8:00 PM on February 9 reported seeing a young person acting furtively heading very fast in an easterly direction at a point about four (4) to five (5) miles away from the scene of the crash. The time line and description of the individual’s appearance and clothing fits perfectly for this person to have been Maura.

This witness lives within just yards of the accident site, but said he had been confused about the exact date and time of that event because the state police had not interviewed him until 10 days had passed. As hard as this is to believe, it is actually true since an investigator helping the family questioned him on Sunday, February 15 and he said the police hadn’t been there to talk to him yet. At this point I appealed directly to the state police to pay attention to rudimentary procedure and turned our notes over to them. This apparently prompted a belated response, which led to the questioning of this witness on Thursday, February 19.”

i read posts newest to oldest, and just saw yours. i trust your memory about a correct source....but i also recall multiple conversations with FC here.
so often a piece of information would morph into certain conclusions that would then carried along, and further padded on the way.
not saying this piece of info about the injury is correct or incorrect, but i am justified to be reasonably wary of FC's accurate delivery of it.
so many red herrings over so many years!

She wouldn't! It was designed to deflect from the suicide theory.

Besides, I figure the hamstring story was a nice break from hair up/down, red trucks, serial killers & albino's.

pg 4 of sherrif log

call taken with complaint of a parked car on mount misery rd. can anyone tell what day and time that was made? The logs show 2-9 >2-10. I find the logs hard to read at times.

I was initially trying to find the time that the crash scene was vacated. If anyone has that I would appreciate that as well.

I am curious as well Frostman with the timelines.

1) witness said to have left work from Franconia @ 7

suposidly saw maura 4-5 miles from accident @ 8pm. It only takes approx 30 min from franconia to that point.

2) Witness supposedly had said he didn't know anything about the accident yet Fire was cleared at 8:49 and police at 9:26. The witness would have been within approx 100 yards of the fire and police vehicles.

It was my recollection that the witness had not been aware of the accident till much later. If anyone has a different take on it. Please chime in.

The witness should have arrived home no later that 8:30 and that is being generous. It does not take an hour and a half from franconia to swiftwater.

L4M, i realize this kind of info has been passed forward from this source, but so many so-called "facts" which originated from the "family" run forum were untested, as information was said to be limited, skewed, and discussion was prevented by tossing out posters directly onto their ears when it strayed from "the party line".
as a result, i question and do not trust most sources that are not firsthand. in addition, "family" has been defined in the context of very loose relationships by anonymous, self-identified posters who, admittedly, never directly knew or met MM.
i am not, for a minute, intending to reflect badly on the piece of info you've provided...as that has been the common knowledge...but being more difficult, i think the challenge for JR will be to decipher truth from fiction in almost every instance, and to whatever extent possible.

lol ~ mention of FC can send up flares, if you know what i mean. god, she was perfect at deflection and withholding sources of info while spewing "facts". all without a legitimate connection to "family". still, i liked her as a person....interesting, witty, sharp. enjoyed debating. whatevah.

It has been written that the alibi for the Witness checked out.

If Witness went to bed early on February 9th and didn't notice the flashing lights, one could understand that. However, if Witness was interviewed by a private investigator working for the Murray's on Sunday, February 15, 2004 and later that week by LE (as per Fred's letter to NH Gov.)... did Witness just have a memory recollection or flashback of the runner on Rte 112/116 in late April and decide to mention it to W at SSS? As opposed to calling LE or the Murray's private investigator? When Witness was interviewed he must have been told there was an accident at WB on Feb 9th...

If it was mentioned to the private investigator presumably a search of that are would have taken place ASAP (mid-February) not on May 8th (or thereabouts). If you didn't remember in mid-February then what prompted the recollection 10-11 weeks later? Or was there nobody running down there at all...

hanson Express:

"When Forcier was first questioned by police, ten days after Maura disappeared, he did not mention seeing the girl running because he was confused about the dates and mistakenly thought it had been two nights after Maura's accident.

This A-frame home on Valley Road in Woodsville was the site of a search by private investigators in October, 2006. Cadaver dogs trained to track the fluids of decomposing bodies picked up scents in the house, according to investigators. Carpet samples from the homes were reportedly sent out for testing. No results have been released. The house is 3/4 of a mile from the scene of Maura’s accident.

Nearly three months later, after hearing numerous news reports about the search for Maura, Forcier checked his work records and realized it was the same night as Maura's disappearance. Forcier told his story to Fred Murray, who relayed the information to police."

L4M, you appear to be a neighbor in the area of the crash site. Do you happen to know when the witness separated from his wife ?

I know, entirely possible... but you'd think you're memory would have been sufficiently jogged on Feb 15th and again on February 19th when you were interviewed. You might say, "Sometime last week, can't recall the day, I saw someone running on Rte. 112 near 116..."

The flashing lights would have been right in front of him as he came down 112 and took a left up BHR. There must have been some reason that his trailer was searched.

Timeline does not fit. based on mapquest it would take 29 min to get to Bradley hill Rd from franconia. If he left at 7 that would put him there at roughly 7:30 at the scene.

what was the alibi? working till 7 yea that would check out
