You're taking creative writing at Sarah Lawrence aren't you?<quoted text>
Occam's Razor I like that. That is definitely going to be needed to solve this case.

Judged: 2 2 2 actually, quite interesting. accidental or attempted suicide....with or without the vitamin connection. hypothermia is obvious if you start and end in Haverhill, but we would suppose the mystery really started in Amherst or surrounds. where was she living on campus? with whom did she have a romantic or business relationship? why did her friend not want to "get her in trouble"? |

Good Morning Frostman..... |

So whats the Theory she killed herself and then was able to successfully hide her own body? Hypothermia would be a tough sell James Renner says the temp that night was about 30 degrees. If she killed herself and than someone hid her body wouldn't she need a body double to speak with Butch Atwood? |

Judged: 2 2 2 You can be hypothermic in 60 degree weather. 50 degrees and rain is ideal hypothermia weather. People never expect. 30 degrees and soaked from sweat from running or exerting ones self with no food and having been drinking also makes you a prime candidate for hypothermia. And Tommy, animals destroy bodies and scatter bones very quickly. I have documented that. With large predators and/or scavengers in the area two nights is more than enough time. Bill |
Judged: 3 3 3 no, no, no. we're talking Amherst. if Haverhill, hypothermia. if Amherst, her death may have occurred there, and her body may have been disposed of in MA, or elsewhere, but not necessarily in NH. ...and her car may have been separately transported to Haverhill to divert from what occurred in Amherst or surrounds. |
|
Judged: 1 1 and pay closer attention. i said suicide could have been "accidental" OR "attempted" suicide. she was emotionally distressed, correct? no one knows why, with any certainty. its not farfetched to use and/or abuse OTC sleeping aids. for that matter, a bottle of tylenol mixed with whatever is a sure way to attempt suicide. some succeed, and some survive with liver damage. just theoretical. nothing can be proven here. |

Judged: 2 2 2 But if she did it at UMASS who did Butch Atwood speak with if she killed herself? |
|
Judged: 3 2 2 another young woman. |
|
Judged: 2 2 1 So an animal walks off with her body. I'm assuming that there would be blood for a dog to track. Scattered bones would leave more of a scent. You can make up almost every theory and say almost anything could have happen. "With large predators and/or scavengers in the area two nights is more than enough time" You know are a zoologist to be able to tell me how an animal can destroy a body and leave nothing behind. I thought we were going along with Occam's Razor and looking for more plausable scenarios. So a predator walks off with her body and than hides it bones and all from the police and search parties. |
|
Judged: 2 2 2 1) the precipitating factor for her disappearance obviously originated while she was attending UMASS Amherst 2) her father was present around the time she last attended, and issues surrounding her transportation and auto accident were present 3) info about where and with whom she was living on or off campus has been hidden from the public therefore, any number of scenarios may have taken place prior to her disappearance and finding the car registered to her father in NH. fortunately for Billy, he lived elsewhere. having no official updates in some time, and having the case moved to the CCU suggests, at the very least, that there is no official POI....or it would have been reported as such. back to zero. |

Judged: 2 2 2 Well I was hoping to not be overly graphic but you are clearly clueless. I have documented with pictures the destruction of a deer about human size on property I had access to. It would be no different with a human. The body is ripped up and pulled a good distance the first night. The internal organs are generally eaten first. The body is pulled ever farther then next night because it is much lighter. The second night most of the flesh is consumed and generally speaking only the spine and attached head is left being that the appendages are torn off and pulled in different directions. The third night the head and spine are dragged a pretty fair distance 100 yards or so from their last location. From there the rest of the skeleton is disassembled and scattered. There is little to no smell in this case, especially if the temperatures are low. I also came across a frozen half eaten carcass of a very large deer in the Adirondack right next to the trail and near a camp. Never would have known it was there if I hadn't come across it by accident. Search dogs search for what they are trained for. If they weren't cadaver dogs they wouldn't have probably found her because that wasn't what they were looking for. Most dogs are trained to exclude other scents. I don't remember hearing that anyone used cadaver dogs except when searching the ponds. Bill |
Judged: 2 1 1 makes sense. let there be no questions, now, about the ravages of wildlife on deceased or dying humans or other wildlife in the wilderness. |
|
Judged: 2 2 1 why not alert the CCU? they'll appreciate the tip. |
