It has been said that no immediate family members post on Topix so these people you refer to are further removed. If you took everything they said as Golden then that is your issue. Maura, most like exhibited different behavior on the outside than the turmoil she had inside. She didn't share that side. Remember, Maura was admitted to West Point and that is an extremely difficult task. She obviously had some great Qualities as well.

there have been good things said about the people from NH and our family appreciates anything the people have done for our family and on behalf of Maura. There is positive with the negative. But some just choose to dwell on the negative.

you're missing the points that have been well made, jwb. your ignorance is not excused, as the history of the methods by which this family's representatives set about to appeal to the public to "find Maura Murray" is well documented across media and many forums...not only on topix. a better PR tactic might have been to declare her a typical, flawed co-ed and human being, rather than flawless. that's as much as i have to say today. you waste my time.

Greg Floyd was capable but I don't think He is responsible in any way. Maura's car was found 6.2 miles from Floyds house on Hummingbird Lane in Easton off of 112. John

Everyone has the right to post there thoughts and opinions. And in doing so it does not mean they are representing family. I have children and when I go to bed at night I thank God because I know my children are safe at home. I can only imagine as a parent what Fred is going through. Hopefully I and others never have to live the nightmare that Mauras immediate family is going through.But my first priority if my child was missing is not to focous on there flaws but to do my best to do what ever it takes to find them.

But none of us know at what point LE was made aware of the accident with the Corolla. Maybe it was discussed on Wed. the 11th when he met with LE. When you find your child is missing regardless of there age I imagine Fred was probably in shock,in a panic and devastated not knowing where and what happened to his daughter. I remember years back my child was in a bad car accident. From the time I had learned this devastating news anything in my life prior was a blank. You dont always think straight when something has happened to your child.

Part 1 Mason- 04-19-2009 18 RED HERRINGS EIGHTEEN RED HERRINGS I have identified what I believe are 18 red herrings that must be disregarded to solve this case. Some of them may have been planted to sow confusion and it's for each of you to decide if that's true and if the person's motive was to conceal his guilt. 1. Maura Murray was a perfectly happy and well adjusted All American steak Next Door with no psychological or emotional problems; 2. Maura left West Point because the Army wasn’t for her; 3. It was not a big deal to Fred Murray when Maura told him that she wrecked his new Toyota Corolla early Sunday morning, February 8, 2004; 4. Nothing out of the ordinary happened at West Point or in Amherst that had anything to do with Maura’s decision to take some time off from school, drive to New Hampshire, and her subsequent disappearance after she wrecked the Saturn; 5. The accident on Route 112, located approximately 125 yards east of the curve at the Weathered Barn, was staged to conceal the damage sustained by the Saturn either when it hit Petrit Vasi, or when it was in a previous accident on Route 112 within a few miles W/B from the accident; 6. The Vasi hit and run (i.e., Maura took an unauthorized absence from her security burrito monitoring sign-ins at the front entrance to Melville Hall at UMass to purchase coffee and a snack and she hit a pedestrian, Petrit Vasi, with the Saturn in the intersection at Triangle and Matoon streets in Amherst and left the scene without stopping or calling 911 to report the accident); 7. A previous accident involving the Saturn on Route 112 within a few miles W/B from the accident scene located approximately 125 yards east of the curve at the Weathered Barn; 8. The trailer hitch theory (i.e., a trailer hitch, probably the one on Sgt. Smith’s Bronco, caused the dent in the Saturn’s engine hood); 9. The Saturn had a flat tire (i.e., a bad guy sabotaged the tire starting a slow leak when Maura stopped to get gas and he followed, abducted, and killed her after the tire went flat causing the accident); 10. Maura wasn’t driving the Saturn when it crashed either because she never left Amherst, or she was abducted at the scene of a previous accident; 11. Maura was abducted and murdered by the driver of the suspicious red truck that witness RO described as having a small window in back with an eagle decal (perhaps a Harley Davidson insignia?), wood slats along the side, and MA license plates (or possibly temporary NH plates) that also was seen (parked next to Bradley Hill Road with the driver out of the vehicle in the woods around the time Maura disappeared) by a witness walking her dog (the location is one mile from the Bradley Hill Road and Route 112 intersection); 12. Maura was murdered at the A-Frame by Claude Moulton, who was renting the place at the time because cadaver search dogs went “bonkers” in a downstairs closet when the PI’s searched it in October of 2006 (Weeper told us the dogs discovered menstrual blood that probably transferred to the carpet from clothing in a laundry hamper, but he did not say whether it was DNA tested); 13. Before the search at the A-Frame, a rusty jackknife with reddish-brown stains was given to Fred Murray by a man, now deceased, who told him that his brother might have used it to kill Maura (his brother likely is a man named Claude Moulton and Fred Murray told Maribeth Conway that he told the police that the knife might be evidence in a capital case and tried to give it to them but they refused to accept it and he later mailed it to them but they never contacted him, the person who gave him the knife, or the suspect);

Part 2 14. Fred Murray's statement to a reporter on the fifth anniversary of Maura's disappearance that the PIs withheld important evidence from the NHSP that they seized during a search in the summer of 2008, which should have been submitted to the State Crime Lab for DNA testing; 15. The school bus driver was involved in Maura’s abduction or he knows more about it than he has been willing to disclose; 16. The person that the construction worker saw running along Route 112 in the vicinity of the Coventry Road intersection, approximately five miles from the accident, was Maura Murray; 17. The construction worker was involved in Maura’s abduction; and 18. Maura is alive, happy, and well living with a “hunk” in the Province of Quebec, which is known within “certain circles of people close to the Murray family.” I hope Maura is alive, but I fear that the rash of postings last week is false and that's why I list it as a red herring. snowy the least you could do is link a so called red hearing to a particular poster. Also just because someone wants to discuss a theory it doesn't mean it is a red herring. It is a theory . If stated as absolute fact and it has been Debunk then maybe a red herring.

hannah_b wrote: <quoted text> This is likely why family did not want people prying into Maura´s life prior to the accident at the WB. I think they feared people would condemn her and not be interested in finding Maura. Maura was clearly very ill and obviously in dire need of professional help. I am not blaming family and friends for not getting her help, people with eating disorders are very good at hiding it. Maybe we should rather question why none of the health care professionals she was surrounded by didn´t notice. But again - very good at hiding. I have no doubt Maura was exactly the wonderful person family and friends has portrayed, but she was seriously ill, and it had spiraled out of control. Her supervisor adviced her to seek counsel. That´s good but not nearly enough. While I´m not in any way condoning theft, I suggest Tom and others who may feel her behavior too offensive, to do a little research into eating disorders, and especially bulimia. To me Maura was/is a complex person, very gifted but also very troubled, which makes her all the more interesting, and deserving of our attention (in a positive way). Hannah ... a very insightful and compassionate post.
