They're just trying to say that BECAUSE Maura had all these mental problems, then she MUST have been at the WB curve and disappeared into the woods.
This is just old wine in a new bottle. Instead of making Amherst off-limits, the new approach is that Maura was, instead of the ideal young woman, the opposite. But the effect is the same: planting her at the WB curve and placing her beyond reach.
The evidence that Maura was very irrational might in fact exist, but it's not available to the general public.
The NHSP CCU description said that Maura was wearing jeans and a jacket when she disappeared. That, coupled with her approximate height and weight, includes only a few hundred thousand people in New England.
You simply cannot ask a witness what a third person looked like and then show them a picture of the person two days later and ask him if this was the person he saw. That's totally unreliable.
Beagle,
Sometimes wine in an old bottle does not taste that bad. Guess it depends on degree of thirst. Irrational....? Let's talk about reasonable man theory as a former poster mentioned. Here's one for ya.... WHY wasn't Maura's case turned over to outside LE.... The FBI offered to take the case. Why was that offer rejected? In a lot of cases where conflict of interest, controversy, etc. exist....LE agencies usually act to turn the case over to an outside agency, LE body to reduce conflict and controversy and prove there is no cover-up. I recently became aware of a similar situation to Maura's in Florida. The LE made the move to turn the case of 2 missing people over to another LE agency in order to reassure people in the community and to reduce controversy and blame. What was there about Maura's case that made LE cling to it and not turn it over to outside LE?

thanks for clarifying.
he may be better able to answer the "why" than i can.
what i do know is what i've learned the hard way; it's both interesting and time-consuming.
I have been accused of not reading previous posts and I have spent way to many hours
on research and on this site and others reading away prior to me posting my first post. My wife just rolls her eyes when she sees me at it.

I have not been here as long as some that is for sure but it doesn't make me a bad or uninformed person.

I have yet to see one of these shack posts you keep talking about as they don't seem to exist on this particular forum. That is how old that news is. I just can't relate to it unless you can show me or direct me to one of the attacking posts. Seems like every time I ask for some sort of factual proof of something i get no response.

personally, I think it just needs to go away. It is toxic. There is nobody talking that talk currently . I think it would be more productive and enjoyable if we could stick to the issues. I don't have a dog in the fight with either Maura, FM, SBD, RF or any poster that posts here. Just interested in trying to piece together
facts and thoughts and someday see the end of what happened.

Interestingly it was posted on February 9, 2010 -- EXACTLY six years after Maura went missing.

Does this sound like a professional LE officer or a disturbed person? Post from PM forum (Frlee reposnse to poster)

(poster) I was asked to comment, I am 29 yrs old, a recent grad 6 mos training, Quantico. I was given a topo of the area, and a time frame to accomplish the task mentioned, as to if it is possible, given a weight of 74 lbs. I would say that given the time frame I was given it would not be difficult to accomplish this. I also left them with this scenario, could this have been accomplished over more than one day? If so, there is a back way to the same area, where you could hide or park a car, easily walk to an elevation of 2000 ft. and would be less than 1 mile from the place found. Boyce Brook area?

FRMle
Who asked you? Recent grad, 6 mos training Quantico? Recent grad from what? What is your role? How are you employed?

Also, in your recent training, were you trained to write legibly and form complete, structured sentences? It appears you missed that training, as your post barely make sense to me.

Learn to write and articulate your thoughts before you attempt to school anyone on anything, please.

Here's what "Matthew" posted on February 9th, 2010:

"I was hunting 7.8 miles from the site of the car crash of Maura and found cloths with duct tape with hair in the tape. I called the state police they said they would call me back. Then 4 days they called me and wanted me to show them where the cloths were since the first call to the police it snowed but we found them and never heard nothing else."

That sounds like someone who knows the relevant questions to ask to determine if someone has information germane to the conversation or someone who might be full of crap.

We will see if the person in question has reasonable answers. And after reading many of his answers, and his questions, I believe he is who he says he is. And I have a pretty good bullshit detector. I have spotted other liars and called them out about their military experience and can usually tell a wanna-be from real in law enforcement also. The more they write, and FrmLE has written enough, the easier they are to tell if they are full-of-shit.

There are ways to question someones credentials and then there is just plain arrogance and meanness. seems like he feels he is better than everyone else. I think it is an ugly ugly post. JMO

He says he knows so much and has so much information yet shares none. My bullshit detector is pegged all the way.No excuse to treat people in that manor. None.

Citigirl,
It is my impression that unless skin, flesh and blood is found in or on abandoned vehicles....they are treated as just that...abandoned vehicles. The Saturn Maura was driving was approximately 130 miles from Amherst (had out-of-state license plates)..quite some distance from home. In fact, the car was registered to Mr. M, if we are to believe information available to the public. If the car was registered to Mr. M...this meant that the owner lived even greater distance from where the car had been "abandoned." No one thought this a bit strange...a car abandoned by an owner living quite some distance away? Why? Because according to some posters on this forum, all cars are treated like abandoned vehicles and towed off to local garages. Unless, of course, a body is found in or around the car, this is the procedure? Then, if after 2 or 3 or 8 years....or 10 years passes and the driver does not show up anywhere.....the situation is either treated as suspicious or possible foul play? Then the alarm goes out and a lot of back-tracking occurs? Evidence if any has long ago been compromised. Then we hear about all of the "if only we had......" statements. Too little too late?...but what then? Changes? No. Doin' the same old same old? Yes. I'm waiting for the time when attempts are made to convince everyone that all of the missing 2,3 and 4-year olds have simply run away to commit suicide or to start a new life. Violence? No way...not here in America Land. Sounds insane, doesn't it. Sounds insane because it IS insanity at its finest. Not everyone runs away to commit suicide. However, this belief about they all run off to commit suicide is much easier than taking all of these disappearances seriously. Lookin' good is what it seems to be all about.
So every car at the side of the road with out of town plates should automatically be treated as a missing person case?

yes, the history is toxic, innocents were harmed ,and you can trust, or not, that this has occurred over a significant number of years on this and other forums. i feel no obligation to prove what has been documented and witnessed.

the people who inflicted harm are present today, and are responsible for sharing, repeating and reinforcing partial and misinformation that became indistinguishable from facts.

the focus you suggest is forever tainted by a failed PR campaign to cover up information about MM prior to her disappearance. it doesn't go away.
