Is it true that a completed accident report regarding the Hadley/Corolla crash, written by the responding officer, was found inside the Saturn after the crash at the WB curve?

I don't think Hadley PD offers delivery service, so does that mean someone picked it up at the Hadley PD station?

Yes, and my experience from a crash in Holyoke is that you need to see the officer responding to the crash for his written statement for the insurance company. Takes 24 hours. And I believe you need the original signed statement, no faxed copy.

Hi Beagle ,the reporter from WMUR says something like 3 days after Maura vanished before they show a shot from what i assume is the corner of Bradley Hill road toward the weathered barn.
I had the impression that the search, while not totally exhaustive, was consistent with searching for a missing person, one that might still be alive in a wooded/rural area. At some point the search may have slipped from rescue to recovery mode. Not sure. But it seemed like the search was as thorough a search of the area as you could realistically expect. IOW, it was a lot more intense than just driving along the road looking for footprints in the snow, and it involved more than the use of a tracking dog.

Unless the state cop was lying on camera, there was a pretty vigorous search for Maura after the crash. This doesn't mean there were not places that were inevitably overlooked, as must always be the case, but it does mean that a serious effort by NH authorities was undertaken. They took Maura's disappearance, perhaps a little later than what might have been ideal, very seriously.

If true, and if the report was picked up after it was completed on Feb. 9, and if the responding officer worked the graveyard shift, then how did she get the report before she left? When? Early Monday AM?

good luck in your search. what's it to you?
Oh I might know a CPA or a couple hundred. More importantly, why do you care if someone wants to find out if a "James Leone" is the author of this nonsense passed along to Mr. Renner?

Let the food fights begin. Pass the gnocchi.:)

She may have had operator crash reports in her car and not the police crash report.
http://www.mass.gov/rmv/forms/21278.pdf and those you can print on line and then fill them out.

Don't need another project thank you. I'm just a blessedly lapsed CPA who thinks that a "report" based on rumor doesn't pass the old "smell test". I'm sure all the JL,CPAs out there will get enough mail and calls from "sleuthers" just like the Maura Murrays of the world. No need to add to the pyre!

Thanks for the link. Good eye. Is this crash report voluntary, so that the Commonwealth can keep records? Or is it compulsory?

If this is the report form found in the Saturn, I'm wondering whether the report was completed? Partly completed? Nothing filled out?

How did she learn that this particular form existed? I was in a MA crash near the time of Maura's disappearance and was never told about this kind of report. I did have to go to the local PD to get the responding officer's report (so I would not have to pay an insurance deductible), but that was it.

The RMV form does say to mail/deliver copies to three different places: the local PD, your insurance company, and RMV.

Has to be filled out if damage is over $1,000 even if a cop shows at the scene.Fred Told her that she would have to get the forms and fill them in in triplicate.

So filling out the forms is required? Maybe I missed that. I don't see where it's required. True, the form may not be filled out if the damage is UNDER $1000, but doesn't say that it MUST be filled out. I got the impression RMV was saying don't fill out this form if these criteria are not met. Will stop by RMV some time and ask. Thanks.

I doubt that those were available online in 2004. Not positive, but I doubt it.

My opinion has been stated numerous times, and please keep in mind it is just my opinion. You can find my opinions in this forum.
As you go through the posts you will realize certain people have strong views about different theories.
I will tell you that I have learned a lot in this forum from different posters. I have engaged in many Socratic conversations and have been convinced by certain members to look at things a different way.
Thanks, Tom. It does seem to be a diverse group, which I think is nice. Talkative, too. I doubt I'll be able to keep up.:) It's good to see that so many people do still talk about her and care about finding her or what happened to her.

Just curious... What makes you think that these forms were probably not available online in 2004?

Any opinion as to whether they even existed then?

Mandatory or voluntary?

Would be interesting to know which report was in the Saturn.

Thanks.
