An observer does just that (observes) and does not participtae. Look up the definition if you don't believe me.

Renner's blog comment section has become a recreation of every other forum related to the topic of MM's disappearance....mostly nonsense. better there than here. should be status quo until he brings out a new piece of information. looks like MM's family will not cooperate in his book writing endeavor, and so it will be interesting to see how he plans to proceed.

Tom wrote: <quoted text>I would like this to be my last post. I hope I have the will power to stay away from this very intriuging case. I hope we find Maura. -Tom- Tom, I think it's a mistake to think that you should punish or sequester yourself with regards to the forum because you jumped to a conclusion and voiced these comments on a forum. The reality is whatever you said, however hurtful it may have been (or not), jwb was bringing this up in an effort to defend his/her actions. They were bringing these things up with a personal motivation for doing so. Whether or not they were right in doing so is beyond the point, and I'd rather not take sides here if at all possible... So, I mean, if you are still reading don't feel obliged to leave because of some mistake you could have made in the past. JWB brought up those past posts to defend themselves, so it was not a panel or evaluation of your actions in the classic sense, but rather something brought up as ammunition in a debate or argument with you. I think that's a silly reason to leave. You weren't put on trial by anyone other than the person you were in a "feud" with. If you're truly sorry or feel that your actions were inappropriate then your apology should suffice, assuming you don't repeat those very same actions in a heartbeat, and that's more than adequate. Many people would not blink over their posts having the potential to cause upset, you did, you clearly feel bad. Cut yourself some slack. Perhaps leaving the forum would be beneficial as you seem tremendously sensitive to inflammatory criticisms and that's probably not the greatest sensibility for a forum- but if your departure is merely an attempt to repent, screw that. That's ridiculous and a peculiar conflation of two entirely separate issues. I hope you'll read this because I think it would be a tremendous shame if you left a forum with your tail between your legs over one person's criticisms of your actions. Especially if you remain interested in the case as pertaining to this forum. P.S. I know you've complained in the past about my lengthy posts but suck it up and scroll!

Mr. Renner doesn't have many facts. LE has not released any details as it is an active, on-going case. Maura's family are not talking to him. And Mr. Renner got tossed out of the Swiftwater Stage Shop by the owner so he didn't have the benefit of interviewing those residents who were close by when Maura disappeared.

I wasn't aware this was a problem here, but it makes sense. For the record, I posted as "Amy" for a few days until I registered on the site last night. No bad intentions on my part. I have corresponded privately with Renner under my full name and am happy to do so with anyone here if it makes for less drama. Tom, if you are out there, I hope you will reconsider. I've read some of your posts and thought you had some good ideas.

It's absolutely insane, and way worse than topix. At least here, when insanity prevails, from what I've had the opportunity to see, there is some debate. That's already an improvement over the comments on Renner's blog. In addition, the comments are so heavily monitored on his site you'll notice there is absolutely no room for criticism. I hope nobody mistakes my criticism for a personal hatred or some weird vendetta. That isn't the case. I just really wish the site, as a whole (i.e. both his work and his website) were more even-handed. Topix can be down right nutty, but typically it doesn't go unmentioned, and I wouldn't have the same expectations for a forum as I do for a journalist's site. But maybe that's just me... I will however say, that most comment sections are filled with crazy.

Topix can be very nutty for sure. People create diff screen names and talk to themselves. The new video of mrdirtbag playing the keyboard. The end with the graphic with numbers. Mean anything to anyone? Also the video with him wearing a road crew uniform. Makes me wonder if this guy is taunting a bit. Or if he is just serking sick attention.

Regarding multi-monikers I could never get away with it, the seven-thousand paragraph posts I leave would be a dead give away... Hah. The thing I find tremendously confusing is when people with a topix account post under the same name or a similar name without signing in, which leaves the possibility that they aren't actually that person. I understand obviously if you don't immediately register for a topix account that makes sense, but it's the back-and-forth when an account exists that I find a little perplexing. Especially given the charges of multi-monikers or assumed topix identities.

I just wanted to offer up the link to the back up thread for Maura Murray, should this thread be closed or locked at some point in the future. Best, Vanderhoven.

I've finished reading this thread. I agree that neither walk away or foul play or even while its a stretch... suicide can be ruled out. Again im a "disappearance" skeptic. Most cases are "walk aways". But seeing that spot where she went missing... and looking at a map of an active serial killer whos mo involves picking up women along roadways has me pretty convinced some type of foul play was involved here. I would applaud the years and years of good work done by some very intelligent posters here. To the person who knows what happened... please come forward... we arent smart enough to find you. Youve outwitted everyone. Your genius needs to be written about. Leave a tip at fbi.gov Or comment to me, Brett At sirpatrik@aol.com
