So, in these kind of cases, does anyone know how long it usually takes for LE to release information about stuff like whom the skull belonged to, etc; ? I know they will use DNA, but different states seem to vary when releasing anything, it took around 6 weeks for a case down here before they said who it was.. I was just wondering how long untill we find out from up yonder?

Thanks in advance,
E

i'd wager on this:

"Troopers said they are also considering the proximity and multitude of graveyards on Danby Hill Road because they said it's possible someone or something dug up a skull from one of the graves."

I hope they release some information on the Danby Skull. The one they found in the horse cemetery never went anywhere.

It is like crickets here today..........

Snowy,
I see your point there.
However, in one of the news videos released on one of the NH channels (sorry, canīt recall which one right now), the reporter mentioned that she had been speaking with local people, who pointed out that Danby Hill Roadīs relatively high elevation makes it unlikely that floods (such as storm Irene) could have dislodged the skull from the nearby cemetery. It was also mentioned (in this news video) that a cursory examination of the nearby cemetery apparently showed no indication of any kind of digging activity.
The fact that the skull showed signs of a head trauma - indicating possible foul play - also needs to be considered in this context, IMO.

Laurieisgone,

Regarding the skull found in the Littleton, NH, horse cemetery, I believe it has been officially confirmed that it was completely unrelated to Mauraīs disappearance.
I know that I have read an official declaration to that effect some time early this year or possibly in December 2011. Just canīt recall the source at the moment.
Iīm sure others here can confirm this and chime in with a source.

Snowy,

A correction to my previous post No. 12775:

I meant to write one of the VT news channels, NOT a NH one.
Just wished to clarify this.

I can just imagine the conversation in the horse cemetery that evening after they've had a few too many gin and ITs. "No, no I'll hold the flashlight. Here, you start digging with the garden trowel. Hurry!"

ange goings on Heidi Dawn Wilbur went missing on Feb 9th 1991 from Middletown Springs VT. This is just a few miles from Danby VT. where the recent skull was found.

Just odd how they found the skull 3 days after the 8th anniversary of Maura's disappearance.

A connection, Possibly, Possibly not. But it can't be ruled out yet.

Strange goings on...!

Just the fact that in the article they kept saying nothing ever goes on here, nothing around here, nope, nothing going on. There is less than nothing going on around this area. O.K. we get it. Although really lots of stuff goes on around there it would seem.

Of course it very likely that it can be ruled out. We don't even know if it has anything to do with Maura - yet. And even if it is Maura and if I assume that you would be just as impressed if it was found 3 days before Maura's anniversary. And of course 3 days before or after her birthday. Then there was a 1 in 26 chance that it would have been found during one of those "significant" days. Not like being struck by lighting odds or winning the lottery odds.

I mean, wouldn't any self respecting halfway competent serial killer be able to make the skull appear ON the anniversary, not just near it?

I am an occasional poster @ Websleuths, but I feel I was mildly castigated for defending my view that WTH-Bill, FrmLE, Columbo, and Beagle, are not the same person.(My moniker is, shockingly, unchanged across the internet. Thus, I am SimplyCaustic over there as well.)
After I posted my belief, with supporting facts, I might add, I was asked by a poster if I "knew CyberLaw" (an old-school poster at Websleuths who was vehement about his/her belief that Maura walked away, and was, IMO, quite rude in their posts....ultimately, banned from WS.) I was further asked why I didn't get verified as a professional poster (which I thought was odd, as I hadn't posted anything on that site, ever, that would be construed or misconstrued as a legal opinion). Instead, my opining was saved for Topix - and that was only due to explaining/conversing on the subject of a one-man grand jury, with Beagle.
Odd.
Just a quick note. I know I am not FrmLE or beagle and I am as close to 100% certain as I can be, just from writing styles if nothing else that beagle and FrmLE are not the same person. I could even understand someone thinking FrmLE or I as being the same. We absolutely are not, but there might be a case made. Similar outlooks, somewhat similar writing styles, etc. But the three of us? Seriously, someone over there shouldn't be in the "sleuthing" game at all. We don't call it webslothes for nothing.

Danby VT is over two hours away from Haverhill NH, I guess that doesn't really mean anything, but could. Maybe the self-respecting serial killer did put it there on the anniversary but no one saw it, maybe he had to go back and move it closer to the road so someone was sure to see it.

It's probably not Maura. Girls that have gone missing closer to where it was found would be my guess. Strangely though on the google maps when you look at the distance between Haverhill and Danby you can see how close Londenderry is. Which made me think of the ping.

For somone that doesn't even live in the state you think you know what goes on here. Have you ever even been to NH? Seems like some love making mountains out of mole hills.

I'm up in NH once a week every week and have been for years. Besides that fact I have friends and family that live there. So yes, I'm familiar for sure. I'm not making anything out of anything at all. Things obviously do go on up there, they go on everywhere. There are people missing up there just as there are people that go missing all over the United States, defensive much?

oh and I almost forgot Wowzer- The day Maura went missing I was about an hour away in Campton NH 9 months pregnant and ready to POP. We ate our dinner at The William Tell. Consequently my little one was born not long after in a lovely NH hospital.

Not being funny, but I have been wondering. Who is Laurie? Webpage or missing person website?
