The rug was cut up by PI's. Was it done in a sterile manner and handled with sterile gloves and cut up with a sterile knife or scissors? Was it immediately put in a sterile plastic bag and brought straight to the LE? If no to any of this then it also was contaminated.

I doubt there's proof of contamination without testing. The knife might be understandable, coming from a possible suspect's brother. The stuff coming from the PI's should have been tested. If they are taking the word of someone from a mostly anonymous rumor board in regards to testing or not testing evidence in a criminal case, that is insane.

behind is the parking lot and river. Screeming skips was dead river fuel at one point. Miles ownes the ice cream and real estate BLD next door on the other side of truants

My personal opinion is the knife was contaminated because it was handled by the brother. It was given to Fred in a plastic bag. The rug was in a bag. Im not sure how it was handled but either way it tested positive for blood. As for Mauras vehicle I also believe that it was contaminated. I dont know if LE used gloves to go into the vehicle and search it. The public had access to this vehicle. There was a photo in one of the local newspapers I believe in April of 2004 where the front drivers door was open and photos of the vehicle taken. I doubt reporters put gloves on when they had the access to open the door to the vehicle to take these photos

I don't get tattoos but I do go to truants and know the owner pretty well. I think the tattoo place is gone. Not positive but I don't go looking for it.

Thanks for the heads up on Mr Renners update . I came away with a stronger feeling that much more is known about what happened. Based on Renners notes it seems they may know her last location and I am not talking about 100 yards away. I wonder if other evidence such as a back pack or liquor bottle may have been found in later searches to determine the last place she may have been.

Why else would they think RF statements were credible and LE strongly believing he saw Maura.
