Snowy, thank you for taking the time to attempt to explain this and some other things the past few days. I have a slightly better understanding now. Being new, coming in here, it's like you only see the last few minutes of a low-budget horror film. People are coming at you with daggers, and there are a few dead bodies in the corner, and you don't know why. It's confusing and sometimes it hurts. I'll admit that what you've said above has confused me even more, but I appreciate that you try. I am also sincerely sorry to hear that people treated you badly when you first came here. You and I don't always see eye to eye on things, but personal attacks are one thing I'm strongly against online or off. Thank you for encouraging me to stay.
i can't say time spent here has been well spent, or productive by any measure, but we all can justify why we stay!
i admit i first thought "amy" and then "amy researches" was another ploy by one of our posters to harass another poster by the same name, and who, coincidentally, also researches. of course, my suspicion had nothing to do with anything you wrote. i take responsibility for initially not being cordial to you.
happy you're back!

If u think about it logically, she pretty much had to be travelling with somebody that night.
Think about this, she withdrew $280, & then spent 40 on liquor, which was clearly 2 different types of drinks good which generally would b for 2 different people. Honestly it reminds me exactly of what me and my girl in college would drink, she drank wine(often franzia) & I drank white russians.
So one of the last calls she made was to the salamones to Inquire about rentin a condo. This is a condo, not some little crappy motel room. How much do u think that condo was a night? Probably around 200, no way it's cheaper than 150. Come to think about it, there aren't even really any hotels in Nh thy r much cheaper than 100 a night.
The other places she looked? 1-800-go-Stowe. Do u really think you can get a room in Stowe for under 1-150? I don't.
spend a lot of time in Stowe...locals like The Matterhorn at the base of Mt Mansfield to chill. Vermont made vodka, maple syrup, are popular to make mudslides with.

Replying to "simply sarcasm"-

The thing that made me think about this was seething Sharon said on the dissapeared show. She said that when she looked up the listings for the condo in Bartlett the one owned by the salamones was the cheapest one in town and that she knows that's why maira called that particular condo.
So the prices were listed and Maura clearly knew how much that particular condo would have cost. & yea it was the cheapest condo, but Its a condo, I seriously doubt u could even get 150 for a night.
Just the fact that she was calling condos says something. She wasnt calling around to find the cheapest motel room so she could afford it, she was looking for condos near Stowe and attitash, both expensive ski towns. She must have known that 240 wasn't gonna let her stay very long, unless we are under the assumption that she was a total idiot.
On top of that she was said to be extremely frugal and most likely chose that particular condo to call because it was the cheapest one listed in Bartlett.
There had to have been someone else she was meeting or coming with her.
In my eyes her travelling with someone in tandem explains a couple different thing.
I can see This asshole guy being like I'm sorry I punched you in the face, I'll pay for a nice condo up wherever you want, you find it and I'll pay for it.
It appears that she had another cell phone, most likely a prepaid that the family never knew about. Think about it, do u think shes gonna tell Billy or her dad that she's got another cell phone so she can talk to her new secret bf without Billy seeing the bill. She wouldn't tell her dad or probably even her sister about it, she might've been embarrassed but it also seems like her family really wanted her to b with Billy for whatever reason. She probably felt pressured to stay with him, why else would they stay together? He cheated on her several times including with her sisters friend?! What an asshole! & she had at least one other bf durin the relationship. We r really supposed to believe they were really gonna get married? What r they gonna do hang out with their kids and be like hey remember the time I cheated on you with your sisters friend and you had another bf? I find it funny that at the beginning they went through so much effort to make everyone think they had this perfect relationship, more bullshit.
Does anyone else get weirded out during the part of dossapeared where Sharon talks about Billy getting maura's phone records every month? I find it odd that her bf's famil got her phone bill every month, & then the was Sharon says it like Billy would "automatically" get all her call records too. I just found that whole part odd and I got the sense from watching it that her &/or Billy totally were looking at maura's phone records before de went missing. That's total speculation on my part mind you but that was the feeling I got from that segment.
I feel that there had to be somebody she was travelling with to Nh that nite

Don't consider this me posting. Hah! But just wanted to say in response to a few posters with regard to cost of condos, we stay up in the Bartlett/Glen area a few times a year for about $150 a night. 2 bedroom condo. It's a shame that those condo owners weren't questioned until a year had gone by and it was too late to remember details.

I agree, but she didn't have much money to run with. Running to a boyfriend, or someone else, and something went wrong? I don't believe that she could have stayed hidden for 8 years, do you?
I'm not saying I think this to be so, honestly I hope it is thoug, but in reality how difficult would it really be to stay hidden if u just never use your cell phone or cc ever again? Especially if she had a guy to help her do it. She could be loving in n Woodstock for all we know. If she just never gets arrested again than how would anybody ever find her?

Seriously, if she never uses anything w her name on it and never gets arrested how could anyone possibly find her?
At that point the only was she could b found would be if someone spotted her and the chances of that r slim to none.
Even in Nh nobody has ever heard of this case. I was asking people about it for years and I never spoke to one person who ever even heard of it, not one. & I'm talking about 20 miles from the scene of the accident.
On top of that most of the pictures released were old and most likely did not look very much like she did when she went missing

It might be worthwhile for LE to track down the actual source of the $100,000 pledged to the Molly Bish Reward Fund shortly after Bish disappeared. I think the Molly Bish Reward Fund is separate from The Molly Bish Foundation.
LE might also consider asking why a company as sophisticated as Franklin Templeton of San Mateo, California would allow an unheard of auditor, Rotenberg, to audit a Saratoga Springs company like Espey in which Franklin has a large interest. Rotenberg also submitted to the SEC its audit of HQ Sustainable Maritime (HQS or HQSM). The potential relevance of HQ should not have been overlooked for so long.

The other day I posted Citigirl's actual post on this thread written several months ago re: the woman walking her dog.
The incident was conveyed to her, and a few others, by someone else.
It appears Citigirl did not speak with the woman.
I have stated that I did post on the MM forum in the past and also on this forum. I also stated that I stopped posting for a while for personal reasons. Look at the dates 2008 then 2009 this is not months it is well over a year. The incident concerning the woman walking the dog was not conveyed to others by someone else. This woman sought us out where we were staying and she and a friend of hers personally talked to me. We knew nothing about this until this woman found us and told us about it. Funny how those whom have never been actively involved in Mauras case seem to think they know everything.

I believe that something that should be looked into is:

Haverhill has a person gone missing from an accident scene under somewhat suspicious circumstances.

2 days later when family shows up they give the family back a bunch of stuff from the car to look through.

More of Maura's stuff is given back to family and stored at Kathleens house.

LE tries to give Fred Murray the car back but Fred refuses. The car is wrecked and not worth dealing with.

After all this they call all of this stuff back into evidence and impound the car.

Why would they give the stuff back this quick.?

Why would they want the stuff back that quickly.?

Just more questions.?

John

There are lots of Why's.

I strongly agree with your sentiments on this one. Also, I don't see how Snowy's post is supposed to prove that you didn't talk to the dog walker yourself. I don't know exactly everything she said, I'd be interested to know if it's already public. Your last sentence is right on, though.

It's been theorized that Fred Murray may have had an anger management issue. I'm not family bashing: It's a fact, that that has been theorized. I don't know if it's been supported anywhere, but the same posters suggesting his anger issues and past domestic battery/violence charges, were the ones long-ago talking about Maura's arrest for CC fraud (which was later confirmed). It's very common for women raised in abusive households, to end up in violent relationships. That being said, I don't know that we can conclude she had a black eye. But it is suggestive.
i'm glad you brought up the "F" word first in this context and not me, because several have considered the issues you mention, and especially in conjunction with the corolla accident.
it has even been suggested that he might have been the person accompanying her to NH / a tandem driver.
again, it is hard to make these comments without appearing to be cruel or insensitive. but neither of us is the first to mention them.

Hey citigirl can you remind us what the dog walker story is? I new actually read the original post.
Wasnt the dog spooked that night and didn't want to go for the walk or something?
I find that interesting, especially if the dog walker felt the need to find you guys to tell their story. That changes it in my eyes if it wasn't just something someone from the neighborhood said in passing, if they actually took the effort to find u at the hotel the dog must've been pretty damn spooked.

What time at nite did this happen? How close to the scene were they walking the dog?

I read a couple posts a while back and people like bill were just making fun of it like it was totally made up by some crazy person, I had no idea really what they were talking about but more importantly I had no idea u were the one that had told the forums this and no idea the dog walker sought you guys out to tell their story to.

Bumping for Maura wrote:
OK, Trying to summarise somewhat:
There might have been several possible reasons for Maura´s perceived need to flee Amherst, MA - even driving a car which might or might not have been unreliable into the relative wilderness of central NH.
1. CC Fraud
2. The Vasi hit-and-run case (possibly involving Maura´s Saturn, with or without MM driving it at the time)
3. Possibly using drugs of some kind (and possibly being threatened in the context of the drug scene)
4. Possibly being in an abusive relationship with a "secret" boyfriend in or near Amherst,MA.
5. The possible risk of being jailed because of one or two of the points raised above.
6. Possibly being pregnant and perhaps not wishing to undergo an abortion in MA, but conceivably somewhere far away (Could "Death in the family" perhaps refer to a planned abortion?
I think that we can safely conclude that Maura likely perceived an imperative need to flee UMass and Amherst.
However, whether this had anything - directly or indirectly - to do with what happened to Maura after her crash on Rte 112 in NH is of course a completely different matter.
One more point to be added to your list: At risk of being kicked out of nursing school due to violation of the code of ethics. Discussed before on this thread but worth mentioning again.

Let´s say LS really did kill her and evidence, maybe dna or something on her computer, were somehow present among her belongings. Would the stuff still be valid as evidence in court, chain of custody being broken and all that?
