Yes, but SBD was cleared pretty early on. Too bad they didn't write that one up for all to see, and repeatedly from then on.
Anybody trying to focus on a theory after two years would not have him in it as some kind of offender.
Many articles mention "the boyfriend" was cleared, so he's been left alone. I just think somebody should have done this for SBD as well so the thought processes could move on. What good is a broken record? I just think this sounds like stale information for ANY theory. It's been nearly 7 years and I still see people coming to the same conclusions, AND WHY? Because NOBODY seems to clarify and update the info. They write the same old stuff over and over again about that night. Boyfriend was cleared, SBD was cleared, shout it out loud.

Maybe people wouldn't do this if they found out Maura really isn't a missing person. Otherwise, the case is NOT following proper missing persons protocol so that is why people continue to dig.

Wowzer and Bill....
Bill asked me about the various LE theories I've encountered, and just briefly I'll say that most of them placed their suspicion on SBD, simply because he was the last person to see her alive and the scent ended near the end of his driveway. This falls into the standard probable cause.
I think you should check on what "probable cause" is. The dog walking up the SBD's front door and alerting by indicating that he wants to get inside is probable cause. Not the dog standing on the state road trying to find where the scent went which most people would indicate the scent disappeared, like she got into a vehicle.

It would also be of keen interest WHEN LE said this. The day after the accident or one, two or six years after the accident.

In other words, WHAT ARE THEY SAYING NOW ABOUT SBD? Everything I have heard indicates that they don't believe he had ANY responsibility for her disappearance.

I go back to the laughable image of him trying to grab a fit young girl in front of witnesses, stuffing her into his escape vehicle, a bright yellow very large bus, and getting to his house and unloading this package in front of his girlfriend and mother/mother-in-law and no one seeing, hearing, or EVER speaking about it.

IT'S ABSURD! And continues to propagate the myth that SBD had something to do with her disappearance.

I will repeat again, I am "attacking" Dawn for trying to out a person that might have nothing to do with Maura.

Dawn's "golden egg" might or might not be true. It would not surprise me if it was. My beef is outing someone with no proof. It's just wrong for people to start digging into people's lives just because they got attached to a mystery. Just like Linda Salamone, people started digging. It's wrong. And I am dissapointed you disagree with that.

What makes him so special as to NEVER get mentioned AT ALL by name in the media, but yet Billy, Fred, Maura's friends, sisters, SBD, the Westmans, The Marottes, CW ALL mentioned. I don't get what the big deal is. Everyone else had their name had plastered all over the media.

I can't change the fact, and I haven't challenged the 4th Amendment, that the majority felt there was probable cause, he was the last person to see her alive, her scent ended near the end of his driveway.

Sara, he might have never been mentioned because he has nothing to do with her disappearence. The CD could be of an old BF? Point is we don't know and LE is not obligated to share info with the public. If they have the CD, most likely they have identified the person, checked it out and had nothing to pursue.

Bill this was also early on in the investigation.

Of course they wanted information on who LE had cleared at the time. Without official publication, as WW says" things took on a life of their own".

Not just from any forum perspective either.

Dearest Dawn,
Perhaps you need to re-read your own posts, as I did the other day. Because you seem to have a severe case of ICRS. You have previously posted that you believe you were fed this info because basically everyone knows how you can't keep a secret and it was a set up. And you were so sorry for posting it and you were never coming back here again.
This week your back on it AND you have the nerve to name a first (not common) name & the place of employment. AND again state...OOOPS! I wish I didn't do that!! Oh it slipped?????
If LE have that CD, which I believe WW said she saw it during her interview, than I am sure that they have looked into it. And seeing as he is not a POI. You have a nerve criticizing people for making accusations against the SBD. You are a hypocrite!!
Sincerely,
oo00oo
Yes.. I was fed this info.. and NO it wasn't a test. because everyone else here has heard of the golden egg. I just actually said it. Everyone else just talks about it in email - I have said nothing except a name.... not a hypocrite. stefanos. I will say it again.. and the family members of the person who works for CRL knows exactly what I am talking about. You just haven't been privy to that information .... yet. And did I say this person did anything bad? How do you compare to SBD? a partial name doesn't even come close to implying that someone killed someone which is WHAT people were saying about SBD.. So now get on with your bad self. welcome back ooOOoo

You know, if everyone didn't act like (LE,family, friends, ex boyfriends)they didn't have a clue about anything as to why Maura left, where she was going, I don;t think people would keep playing detective. But you don't you have a whole ID episode of everyone saying we don't know, we don't know. This implies to people that there hasn't been ENOUGH digging. Do you understand?

So if he did nothing wrong why try to out him on a public forum?

Why did you regret mentioning it the first time, claim you were no longer going to post here, then return to bring it up again. Then regret it the second time too? Do I need to copy & paste your posts again so you will see what I am talking about?

The way I am interpreting this whole thing is you are playing games. If you want to discuss it do so, but I think it is wrong to bring out his personal info.

I totally understand about wanting to dig. But what right does anyone have to put his personal info on a public forum? He's not being announced as a POI. What will it accomplish? I believe the last time that happened we had amateur sleuths calling asking questions, trying to set up interviews. Don't you think that is going a bit too far?

I'm sorry. There is no way any officer, who knew anything would think that the description of how the dog behaved would think that was probable cause for a search, because there is no judge in the country that would authorize it. And let us not forget, to our knowledge, there was never a search warrant authorized for his property. For good reason, there was no probable cause.

I'm still working on the "the majority". There was one officer involved in this. Unless you are saying that this occurred with officer(s) from NHSP?

Since SBD has been cleared, I hope this will be the last time that anyone mentions "probable cause" and him in the same sentence, certainly without mentioning that he was cleared of ANY wrongdoing.

Jesus Christ on a crutch, the man is dead, can't defend himself and he still being vilified and considered some sort of suspect in Maura's disappearance. It is total horseshit and I thought that we had gotten well past this point.

I do understand, but the SBD wasn't a POI either, but everyone gave him a heck of a time adn nobody seemed to care. I don't think its okay to dig into a witnesses life, but I can understand people digging into Maura's. And if someone that was close to Maura and spent time with her the days before she disappeared is being hidden from the public's knowledge, one has to really ask WHY? It's more about the why than who, personally I could care less what his name is, where he works, etc. Is it because they didn't want to hurt Billy's feelings? Fine, just say so and people will let off. But when everyone is acting so clueless about Maura all the time, you can't help but want to help. That was the purpose of ID right? To get her story out there and state someone knows.

Is there proof that this is being "HID" from the public? As I keep saying, maybe he has already been questioned & cleared. This CD could be old. If he is of interest, yes, I would be wondering why. But seeing as Dawn and some other posters know about this I find it hard to believe it's nothing more than a rumour. Would I be surprised if it was true? No. I have no problem with the discussion of it whatsoever. Just think we need to keep uncommon first names & names of companies out of public discussion. If he exists he does not deserve a background check from topix-FIT.

And as BandWith stated earlier, the forum is not being shut down for the golden egg comments. It is being shut down due to the fighting.(which usually comes from the Fred+Maura comments)I read it is easier to delete a whole thread than individual posts. I think it was lvsnh that posted that info.

Just my opinion

And now for something completely different.

I think I have just figured out why FW thought that someone was smoking. It is so simple that is is stupid we hadn't thought about it before. Maura's breath was likely causing steam to rise from where she was. There was no smoke, only steam from her breath.
