Jenkins wrote: <quoted text> This is absolutely ridiculous, the river in the summer is nothing at all like the river in the winter. The same rocks that they r sitting on will b covered in about 2-3' of water in the winter. I'm not saying it's absolutely impossible to cross the river in the winter, I'm sure u can find a spot or 2 that u might b able to cross it but theres no way in hell your gonna find that spot when it's dark out. On top of that the river does not freeze solid, not even close to solid. It's that clear, punchy brittle river ice that is extremely dangerous. Any outdoor guide would tell u it's suicide to try to cross that river, at night, by yourself, without knowing exactly where it's safe. Also out of all the directions she could've went why go across that river? I was there a few weeks after and looking at the river. During the day I couldn't find a spot where I would be comfortable crossing it. In fact, I'll put up $1000 next February & I will give it to anyone who's willing to try to cross that river at night. I don't know why people r trying to say she could've crossed the river that night. Are qe believing now that she was like one of the most stupid people on earth? Theres no way your crossing without at least getting your feet wet, so what was her plan? Get her shoes wet so she can then walk miles into the woods. Seriously people, anybody saying she could've crossed that river easily either doesn't know, is really really stupid, or is straight up lying. But either way they r saying things that r not accurate as fact. Take anything said by someone who says that with a GIANT grain of salt. unless Maura had Superhuman night vision I also doubt she "found" one of the few spots that could be crossed.I've seen the river in late winter&agree it would be crazy to think she crossed it. I believe this theory is being plugged to draw attention away from red truck or any other bad guy scenerio.Im of the opinion there are people here protecting the truth.

Whooosh wrote: <quoted text> . Do you really believe its taking a risk to cross the river on 112? Why would you think that? There's people sitting on rocks in the middle of the river panning for gold in the spring, summer and fall and if there behinds didn't freeze to the rocks and they could chisil through the ice they would probably pan it in the winter too. Ok so your saying that it's not a risk to cross the river? No matter whether u can cross it in spots or not it is obviously a risk any time your trying to cross a river in the winter. At the very least your risking getting wet which is a huge danger in the winter. If u don't think it's a risk to cross a river by yourself at night in the middle of February you need to have your head examined. Just by how u describe chiseling through the ice to pan for gold I can tell that u clearly r not familiar with this river in winter. The ice does not freeze solid in the winter at all, it's extremely brittle and not safe by any stretch of the imagination. Although I do think there's a couple spots where it slows down and the I've does freeze relatively solid, it would still b insane to attempt crossing it at night by yourself. The river between dec-march/April depending on the year is a raging river that's like twice the size and depth it is in the summer. Any comparison of summer to winter is not a good comparison. Everybody in the north country knows that u don't mess with rivers in the winter, not even the Pemi freezes solid. Water crossings r the most dangerous thing u can do outdoors in the winter. Anybody who says u can easily cross this river in winter is obviously wrong and u need to seriously question their motives for saying so. I can't even believe this is a debate, not a risk to cross it in the winter?? Come on, be for real here

I've been reading many of these posts the last few days and I won't involve myself in the mess that occurs when someone has a difference of opinion with a few posters here. Dishonest opinions stated as facts soon turn into just facts and get spread from one forum to another. If you have to ask what could people here lie about then I think it would be a waste of time to try to tell you.

I agree findmaura, every time the red truck or a couple other specific topics comes up some weird posters come out of the woodwork & try to discredit either the poster or their theory. I mean it's getting to the point that it's predictable. EVERY single time the red truck comes up the same thing happens. It's blatantly obvious that the red truck is important to find. Even if the guy isn't responsible he could be an extremely important witness. He drove by the crash scene right after she crashed and before the cops arrived, that's an important witness. Also he was parked on bhr, right next to the crash site at the same time Maura was there. At the very least this guy is a witness. It is very important to finding this guy. I believe, find the truck, find out what happened to maura

There is nothing that has pointed to her entering the woods. Her scent trail has pointed to Maura leaving in a vehicle or being beamed up. The butchered police logs, the LE #1 car nose to nose with the Saturn & the red truck are all suspicious to me. who owned the Red Truck in Warren N.H.?

The key is to find the red truck. How many could there be?

There r literally thousands of red trucks that match that description in Nh. It had mass plates so if u include how many there r between mass and Nh, who knows how many there could be. The truck was an 80's-90's work truck. Red was a very popular color during those years. It's that really dull red, not bright at all.

The butchered police logs, the LE #1 car nose to nose with the Saturn & the red truck are all suspicious to me. who owned the Red Truck in Warren N.H.? I really wonder about those police logs. It seems super strange to me that when the sbd was trying to call 911 there was so many calls that he couldn't get through, lines were busy. He ended up habing to call another towns dispatch to get patched through. But maura's accident was the first thing to happen in at least an hour..I think the last call was at 5:40, but there def is a gap in the log. How is it that nothing happened but there was so many 911 calls the lines were busy. & we have the #1 vehicle nose to nose w the Saturn, that was the chiefs truck. But the chief has lied and said he wasn't on scene. Why? Why would he lie about that? Is it possible he knew who the guy in the red truck was? Working together? I find it extremely hard to believe but what's going on here? Something just is not right here, how is it ok for a chief of police to just lie about being on the scene of a missing person? I don't believe the chief is involved in hurting Maura, but I do believe the coos knew WAY more that night them they've ever said. I fully believe that they knew for sure she got abducted and after being unable to locate the red truck that night they decided it was gonna make themook really bad if they were on scene of an abduction, knew it was an abduction within 5 minutes of her being abducted and they can't catch the guy. Just think about it, that just makes em look bad. All members of LE r worried about their image, even more so in Nh though bc of smaller budgets. Town cops r not necessary due to the state cops, it's more of a luxury up Nh. Their image is important to them bc they fall victim to budget cuts all the time

As for the plates, it's entirely possible that someone in Nh could have a set of mass plates and throw them on if he knew he was committing a crime in the truck, what a great way to throw people off; put on plates from another state

I just heard someone on the radio today who was doing a study about people driving without a license, & he said he went on patrol with the chief of police in Taunton,ma. The first car they pulled over had three sets of license plates in the trunk! All different states. It's an old trick of criminals, put different plates in your getaway car. So even if the truck had mass plates, which from ro's description to me I believe it did, that doesn't necessarily mean the driver was from mass
