jwb wrote: <quoted text> citigirl are you saying the 911 lines were busy or HPD were busy? thank you According to the GCSD log it says that all circuits are busy. Which leads me to believe that the 911 lines were busy and this is why SBDs call went to Hanover dispatch. No where does the log state that HPD was busy only that there was a call at 1943 from Hanover dispatch advising that all circuits were busy.

Also, it doesn't appear she was overly concerned with getting a ride. I would think that if she was alone that would b her #1 priority, to get a ride. I would also think that she would've been happy to c a school bus come along and offer assistance, a sbd can't b a murderer right? I wonder what sbd said to her that night. He describes having sleepless nights over this. Now if all he did was try to help then why the sleepless nights? I think that means one of 2 things. Either he was an asshole to her, just started threatening to call the cops on her; he probably feels like he's the one that scared her into a murderers truck. Or it means he saw her get abducted and is too scared to talk. Both of those r things that would Lead to sleepless nights, imo According to some, Maura pleaded with him to NOT call the police. She fibbed again, SBD knew it....no reception = no call made to AAA. He went away mumbling to himself . I can see him having sleepless nights because of the maybes', like if only I'd have stayed with her until police came.....things like that are possible too.

It is an interesting area of Nh as it rwally isn't a tourist area. Def more locals than non locals. One thing though is that a lot of people do cut through there. I your driving from vt & u want to get to Lincoln/Franconia notch area, which is the most popular tourist area, you take 112. 112 is jis the most direct route and the shortest by far. A lot of people pass through the area, but it is not a destination kind of area. Most houses r permanent residences. There r obviously a bunch o second home owners, like in mt lakes, but not nearly as much as in an area like Lincoln or Waterville valley, where probably half the houses r second homes. Haverhill/woodsville r locals kind of towns, towney kind of towns. Most of the people there r locals. I'm still not convinced either way whether I think it was a local or someone that Maura knew, there's things pointing in both directions. Although it is obvious there's a lot of people up there, & on topix, that would just love to sweep this under the rug & write her off as an idiot drunk college chick that got lost in the wolds because she was so stupid and drunk.

Casey wrote: It was a dead zone for calls because of the location. The bus driver had to go home and call.(time laps) I wonder why he didn't have his cell phone with him. I would think that one would have a cell phone to know that area was a calling dead zone and being a bus driver you would carry one for emergency.I would like to know if the houses a cross the street were in a dead zone. I know that when I'm out in some areas like mountains, forest, ect. I have tried calling people and they don't get itor my message, right away and why was the bus driver out so late with the bus. Was this he's normal routine? Who report seeing a red truck? and Did Maura have MS? As far as we know Maura did not have ms or any other major disease, she was a top runner who still holds record in mass, so she was healthy; but she did have an injured hamstring that was preventing her from running around thentime of her dissapearance. The bus driver was returning from bringing kids on a ski trip, which seems like normal behavior for him. Not sure whether he had his cell on him or not but I would expect that he did. He lived there for years, he didn't need to have a cell on him to know it was a dead zone, everyone knows it up there. None of the houses in that area had cell service at that time and I don't think they even do today, at least not good coverage. I've read that even the police radios have a dead zone in that area. There was actually 2 witnesses that reported seeing the red truck acting very strange that evening. Robinsonordway (RO) was the woman walking to the store that nite. She is the one that the driver if the red truck stopped to look at, the driver actually backed up to try to get a better look at her; then he waited in the store parking lot so he could get an even better look at her. As soon as RO entered the light in the parking lot and the truck could identify her the truck left the parking lot in the direction of the accident. About 10-15 min later RO saw smith drive by with his lights on. That places the red truck at the accident scene at exactly the right time. There was also another witness who reported seeing the red truck on the side of bhr right near the accident scene parked with the driver out of the truck and the passenger door open. This was such odd behavior, so out of the ordinary that the witness felt compelled to tell LE about it the night of the accident. Ro's account of events wasn't told for at least a month. It seems like LE took this report seriously bc that night they were very interested in trucks. Almost every vehicle pulled over that night was a truck, 3 of them were red. This does not seem like a coincidence although theoretically it could be, red is an extremely common color for work trucks in Nh and mass.

If you where going to kill yourself? Do you really think it's going to be drinking white Russians and wine? which seems to me thats more of a female drink. I would think you would do something like straight grain alcohol. Not take the time to mixs. I can see someone drinking this to relax, to reflect on stuff that bothers them and having a good cry or just getting together with friends or friend.

Great point Casey, drinking herself to death with white russians & wine? No way in hell. There's this theory that people try to propose, that she went to the top of a mt to drink herself to death which is just laughable. She had no winter gear with her and not nearly enough alcohol to drink herself to death, which clearly isn't easy. It turns out that the only liquor missing from her car was a bottle of kahlua. So clearly she wasn't planning on drinking herself to death.

I used to take my children there..as you came over the Swiftwater Covered Bridge, immediately on the left was a parking area...actually a small field...we'd scramble down a worn path to the rocky river. There was a small shed like bldg. where they sold snacks and drinks. Further down were a couple of weekly rental summer cabins. One time I got caught in the Eddy and was pulled out. The area ..at night...became a teen hangout and soon the area was sort of off limits. This is before Mountain Lakes...there first start up was hindered because of crimal/financial issues. At least I have the memories of the good times at the Bridge...
