It is clear that Smith is unfamiliar with the case and is struggling to answer this question. Her statement has nothing whatsoever to do with any facts of the case and is simply her theory of a possible reason that maps and diagrams should not be released.
Again, it would be great if people would let this "last known location" being somewhere other than the accident scene/spot where the dog traced MM die, as it simply isn't an issue.

Like you, I, too, am a strong personality...made more so by these forum experiences. Care about Maura? I've poured my heart out on this thread in the early days. No longer. Not when you witness a wall of silence and see peoples' goodwill exploited or manipulated.
Have you read Whitenoise's posts? He/she (I assume she) tells it just as it was. That person was here from the very beginning....as was Wowzer, and probably Bill. Whitenoise speaks to the abuses of the general public who came to help and were spat upon.
Bill speaks to Shack's history of failing to be honest and helping to drive untruths about MM's disappearance. He can correct me if I am wrong.
How did YOU miss this online activity all these years? Oh, and I've been working full-time and raising a family, as well. Why has this become a cause for you? Had you not heard about it until recently?
I am probably one of the most most determined and compassionate advocates you could know; born with a bleeding heart. I've considered that trait a personal strength and incorporated it into the nature of my work. However, while my kindness and heartfelt concern is freely given at first, once it is betrayed, it's done.
No doubt certain people have felt similarly throughout the history of these forums. Some leave wounded, some leave after they feel they have contributed and they're done, and some stand up and fight.
Real people with real emotions and brains engaged in communicating here with just words, and without the benefit of reading facial expressions and body language.
Frankly, I'm surprised you and one other hang on every word...and look for connections in places where they don't exist. I do understand, however, the orientation to this case by the majority of people is the intrigue for solving mysteries. I am not one of them.
We are all very different and differently motivated.
And the history of MM forums is very important...and divisive. I've detailed that as often as I have been able.
It's complicated, and not just what can be gleaned from a single comment or a set of posts.

I, for one, traveled to NH to personally distribute fliers about MM to the public, and paid for the materials to do so. While there is no obligation for anyone to actively contribute any time or resources, I suggest you consider devoting more energy toward "finding Maura"in a positive way, if that is your goal.
