I suppose for some it would have to be specifically a 20 something female to show it could happen. Others know better. If I mention the 20 something guy who just went out "camping" to die in the cold, that wouldn't match either. There are others, but I am not sure I can find a 20 something college student who ran from a crashed car while drinking.

I do have a problem with Fred making a statement about the A frame house and the "bonkers" story. I'm going to guess he kept a sample of the carpet that he sent to LE to test. Did he ever make a statement saying the private lab tested for Maura's DNA and it came back negative? If it came back positive LE would have been all over the house.
Does anyone know if Fred eventually told people the test was negative? You can only imagine the owner or the person who lived in the A frame house must feel. The public must have thought they were involved in an abuction/murder.
