If FM thought the car was properly processed and LE did a decent job than why would he ask for more information in the first place? That logic doesn't make sense to me.
I know if people's daughters go missing people would act "amiss" but there are other father's who lost daughters who didn't go "amiss".
If I went missing and it took my father two years to sit down with LE and he brought lawyers, I'd be pretty pissed at my father for taking so long.
In my opinion FM acted so strange that "your daughters missing you can act amiss" is not even close to a respectable defense.
You've make very valid points. Was FM asked to sit down with LE long before the 2 year meeting?I'm sure FM could sense he was a suspect hence the lawyer being present..Im certainly not defending FM but Im also not sure how I'd "act" if my child were missing.

Fred Murray clearly is hiding something about MM. It's odd that in the few short days leading up
to her disappearance, all kinds of weird things happen. The mysterious phone call..which, according to Healy on BlogRadio, was never really understood. Fred happens to appear to get a new car that exact weekend. Strange. She keeps his car to go to a dorm party. Why? The party was at her dorm. She did not need a vehicle. He should have dropped her off. It looks to me that they had to get back to each other. Then she wrecks his new car. He claims he slept through her coming back to the hotel, using his cell, and not to mention the lights and noise from the tow truck has it dropped his car off. It doesn't add up. Maura was on the run from something. Fred knows.

I believe James Renner has more info than he has released. All he posts is what he is trying to get more info on. LE and PI's have spoken at length with James, off the record. He knows we're to look and who the suspects are. He also knows you guys are dissing him and at the same time drooling for new info. That stuff will be in the book. Mark it down.

I can't blame him for not putting out everything he has learned. If he did there would be no reason to buy his book. And I'm sure it costs him for traveling and all the expenses spent on paperwork etc.

From the very beginning this disappearance has been nothing but weird and strange.

True. I think people just want an immediate suspect and all questions answered. I don't know if we will ever know the full story. I think James will try to put it together has best as possible.

Interesting. May I ask how you know this? You certainly seem to be Renners biggest supporter, nothing wrong with that at all. But reading your post above I wonder what makes you say:

WHo has spoken to him? Which PI's? What info do they have that they haven't revealed? And you say that Law Enforcement has spoken to him? Why would they do that?

How do you know this? I think it is a fair question to ask.

STRANGE is the best way to describe the behavior.

Lets go back to the saturn for a second. I think it is fair to say that if FM thought that MM was abducted then he wouldn't have given the car up so quickly. So what does FM know to make him think that MM was running away?

I can't blame him for not putting everything out there either. This is what he does for a living. This isn't charity for him.

I'm wondering what else he has. He committed to having a book out in two years. He must have some more information to write a book.

Yes, James Renner has done a lot of interviews and is planning to do more, so there's going to be a lot he is holding back for the book. There's also a lot of time between now and the book release, so it's smart of him to save some things and not post everything at once. He also has a family and other work so it's not like this project is all his life revolves around.
I think he can handle whatever criticisms come his way. All of us who are professionals in any line of work get criticism thrown at us, and you just deal with it. Could be that he appreciates criticisms and suggestions at this stage of the research and writing process. Any writer worth his salt gets criticism and bad reviews by people a lot more important than topix commenters.

But what if there is nothing else of significance to write? I mean, what if the information that exists is really all the information that exists? What then?

Doesn't it make sense that if there was more infomation, some suspects to consider, some evidence to gather, that the NHSP would be working the hell ot of those leads? With ALL THE TIME that has been devoted to this case, is it really likely that some writer is going to find the answer when dozens and dozens of Detectives have not found?

What kind of a book will it be if at the end all there is is the same information that has been gone over many many times? What if Maura went into the woods to do the Squaw Walk, her body is long ago decomposed, no one abducted her and killed her, and thats all there is?

Because, in my mind that is what happened, and that really is all there is. Some book that will be.

I also find it strange that it was always reported that FM did indeed buy a car for MM that weekend, while in the police interview shortly after her disappearance he stated they did not find a car and specifically mentioned the 4g. He knows something.

And WHY is the art gallery where MM worked still such a mystery? Employer/s would be in IRS records, which I believe also can be requested under FOIA.

Yes. Maybe he made up or created the "buy a car" story when he realized that LE would find out he took out 4G from his bank account. Who really buys a car with 4G cash? Apparently if she really needed a car and her car was that bad she wouldn't have driven it in the first place.

Renner's website doesn't even make mention that she ran from the crash, and died in the woods. For him not to meniton it makes me think that might be part of the book's topic. Would that make a really good book? I don't know maybe not, unless he has testimony from family and friends about her life before she mysterious took off.

I would buy the book if he could give me an accurate account of MM's last couple of days and what made her leave in the first place.

Just my opinion but I don't think books like the one James writes will solve a case that LE can't solve. I read this kind of book for entertainment, much like watching the Investigation Discovery programming where they interview people and hear different theories. My theory is suicide, but the other theories are more entertaining so I assume those will be the kinds of interviews an author wants for his book. Because people like to read murder mysteries. What I am interested in of what Renner is doing is his digging into Maura's past, aka the first part of the story that might explain why she took off for NH. Not news for you in LE maybe but it's an interesting part of the story that was only rumors before James confirmed with the document requests.

And if "Grapes of Wrath" is consider an America classic, then James can write a book about a girl who runs off and dies in the woods. The ending to "Grapes of Wrath" was so awful I had to check my copy thinking that part of the book might have been cut off or left out. Such a long book with no real ending.

There are a few things that Renner could clear up that could possibly make the book worth reading for me, short of actually finding where she is.

First, why Maura went on the crying jag that she did shortly before leaving. Second, why did she lie about a "death in the family". Third, what was the definitive source of the call to Billy's cell phone. Fourth, did she really plan on coming back. Fifth, what was the reason that she left West Point. Was it as described by family, or not. Hardly anyone leaves WP of their own volition once they are accepted. There may be some others I can't think of right now, but those would be good for a start.

I still believe that it is most likely that she died either accidentally or on purpose in the woods.

I don't see myself buying the book, unless someone tells me it answers at least some of those questions. Someone other than Renner that is. 8-)

In the end I suspect he likely will have a remarkably dull story with no ending, unless he speculates wildly about Bigfoot, serial killers and UFOs as has been done here for so many years. That is the only reason I have stuck around as long as I have. Listening to these wildly speculative an often irrational stories by some here, because the known facts are remarkably boring.

Bill
