Just hrowing stuff out there for consumption:I was recently emailing another poster to say that it is just so weird that this unique case is in my backyard and that everytime I drive down 112 towards the crash area that all I can think about is what happened to Maura. I look at the touraine ane see how hard it would be to locate anyone if they were in those desolete areas. I must say that the famliys lack of communication really bothers me. Example: Why can't or won't Citigirl say which areas where searhed on the Montel Show? I meanit was 8 years ago and even the investigators have said they searched a local sand pit (Healy). My gut tells me that Maura went into hiding and they know it and are trying to protect her. Why else hold back on anything? We are here to try and help right?

JWB wrote: <quoted text> ORKO- Mind if I ask why you would come from ILL to NH to Scope out Mauras crash site and her school? Seems odd to me and I just had to ask. I don't know really how to explain it. The case interests me as do many other missing people cases. This one stands out a little bit more to me, in part because I think there are a lot of assumed truths and unanswered questions just begging to be dealt with and resolved. I took advantage of an opportunity (being in the amherst area for a weekend with nothing else to do) to do a small very humble fact-finding mission with the aid of photos. I regret that I didn't have more time, because I sincerely believe I could have done a whole lot more. I am a professional journalist and interview, take photos of and write stories about people every single day. Just trying to find my own way to contribute. And have no clue where this will all be going if anywhere. But I have aided James and his endeavors on his blog and will continue to look for ways to contribute until there is resolution.

Orko, while you were at Umass did you happen to inquire what the break policies are at the security desks?

JWB wrote: <quoted text> I guess we just approach things in a different way. I would be more apt to ask her to explain in a nicer way and then put my two cents in. I do hear ya with the 99% thing sounds like facts are involved and probably there are none. JWB, If you and others here have a problem with my 99% approximation, I can only reiterate that this is what I firmly believe to be most likely regarding the telephone matter, and I fully stand by it. Maura could easily have used a separate cell phone for all her "private" calls. If she only used that phone rather sparingly when needed, I feel rather certain that she would have been able to afford the costs. And just for your information, I´m not a "her", but a guy of 50....

With the exception of the F&G searches. I have serious questions about the efficacy and thoroughness of the searches done by the P.I.s. There might have been legitimate reasons to keep the search areas secret years ago. Now, I think that is being kept secret more because they don't want anyone to see the lackluster documentation, poor planning and execution that was done. Usually search management welcomes others search managers to review their planning before during and after a search. In this case they have gone out of their way to make sure no one knows what they did, how or where or what they were looking for or how they did it, or how effective they think they were. Bill

Hi all,I think Looking4amoose posted a while back that in Feb 2004 Sprint did not issue an itemized bill unless requested.Maura was on probation for ID theft and still worked security at UMASS checking ID's.Wondering if Amherst P.D. had any contact with umass security to help Maura keep her job or if the results of the hearing ,i think on dec 16 ,had not filtered through to umass.Be interesting to know if Amherst p.d. even knew Maura had a job checking I.D.s.Sugar Jones use to deliver food to the dorms with the cc number on the outside of the package.Maybe that was normal for other food deliveries to the dorms back then.take care philip

JWB its not lack of family communication. Info has been passed over to the proper authorities and those investigating this case. I have never said I cant post an area that has been searched. What i did say is I personally will not post areas that have been searched. You should not hold others responsible for my opinion. Yes investigators said a local sandpit but did they name the sandpit they searched? Many residents have allowed us to search there property. These are the people Im trying to protect. Just because specific areas have been searched does not mean there has been any wrong doing concerning Maura and the people whom own these properties that have allowed us to search on there land.

Citigirl, I need your help. For the past three or four days there has been much talk about the Vassi hit and run. I have been arguing against it for those three days. One main point that could help end this hit and run talk is discussing personal character. It takes a certain type of person to hit someone and posibly leave them for dead. I can only argue about things that are known. I don't know Maura's character and I was hoping that a statement about her character would come from you. The fact that you read over and not respond to this accusations is troublesome. Finding out about the cc fraud was disappointing, and I would be sick to my stomache if MM went missing because of some botched runaway that left someone injured. This is just my humble opinion, but I'm sure others would be upset as well.

Please, let us have your source/sources for this. Thanks!

Citigirl- I agree that just because an area was searched doesn't mean that the property owners had anything to do with mauras disappearance and I believe that most posters understand that as well. It was common knowledge that sandpits were checked and I don't believe anyone was insinuating that anyone with that particular construction company was involved. People are just interested in the scope of the searches that were done.

Citigirl, the name of the sandpit was named in a Gary Lindsey article. My previous post on it was deleted. The name is of no importance but the fact that a local sandpit was searched is what is of interest.

Wasn't it you that pummeled a poster here with questions on what they could see from their window while trying to find out where they lived? If I remember correctly you asked them so many times that they finally reported you Citigirl is doing the right thing by protecting the identities of those that allowed her to search their land
