I suspect that when a legal match is scheduled, you can't just postpone it at the last minute, especially before the state supreme court. Something must have happened at the last minute to make this switch impossible to avoid i.e someone died, left the office, etc. I look forward to possible insight by our legal staff. 8-) Bill I cannot imagine a continuance being granted on the request of the State, barring an emergency, as you stated above - and, even then, there are times that the underling is thrown into court, unprepared - but hoping for the best. Having been said underling ^^^....don't be so hard on her, guys. She did the best she could with the knowledge she had gathered in, a likely half-hour briefing before court.

I really feel bad for her like I said. She is flailing around like a drowning woman. I have been in that situation, it sucks. Bill

Or were you near the intersection of 25 near Lyme Kiln Rd? Trying to pinpoint your location. Thank you. It was actually on 25 Near a dam at , I believe it's called Olivarian lake. Coming from Warren passing the lake or pond if you will, there is a street on the right side with an old house and a couple old trailers on it. You follow that old road down and it stops. You can then hike in to the back of the dam.

Why would your friend pick a cellphone (that looks six years old) out of water to see if the battery fits? I'd imagine even if it did fit - his phone would be old and he would be due for an upgrade from the carrier. Yes it was JR site. He picked the phone out of the water because he saw it there as I said before, there were no thoughts of any missing girls. The phone was old, yes I suppose it could have been from 2004. He just took the battery out, who knows why, I never said he he was the sharpest knife in the drawer. Geeze , you are really negative. I had the same same 2 g iPhone for about 4 yrs til I just got a new one. Anyway, I'm just sharing what happened. In any event, it wasn't that important to the investigation it seemed, I think that JR and I emailed 2 times. I'm sorry I can't remember who I then Contacted! I've been racking my brain trying to remember the details. But I do know that at that point2010, JR was the only site I found. There is a lot of gossip in that area and a lot of stories from the locals, everyone thinks they know who did it. The problem is that even if they know who abducted her(my opinion) the cops won't do anything anyway. They can't even find a stolen car in a small town! Poor family will probably never get any closer.

Nhlover wrote: <quoted text> Hi Citigirl-let me explain the cell phone. I was hiking around the woods with my friend on an old road on rte 25 pike area, we found a phone in the water. He picked it up and brought it to the car with us. He took the battery out to see if it might work in his phone. The thinking at this point had nothing to do with anyone missing or anything unusual in our minds, as the Maura Murray case was not in my forethought, I had only moved back to that area about one year before and was not "up" on the case. I did know about it but didn't know the actual location. At that time I said why do you want that thing, it's old it's not going to work, its been wet, etc. He tossed it out the door. I know it sounds crazy now, but truely at that point, I did not think anything of it. 2 days later it came over me like a ton of bricks. Some how I put it togather and I realized the area was so close to the accident.(close in NH small town road terms). I had something to do that next day but all I could think of was that phone, so the next day I drove back up there, alone, and looked all around for it. It had snowed lightly and I just couldn't find it. I had such creepy feelings, as though, someone was around or knew where the area was, because I had asked about it on a site to see if her phone was ever missing or found. I believe it was that one writers site that has been doing all the investigating. When I posted about it, they seemed so unenthused. I had sent an email to an address he/they referred me too, but never heard anything else. I will look back and see if I can find any of the info of whom it was sent to. This case always bothers me because I've lived up there and heard so many stories from the natives about what they think happened and all. From a lesbian cop picked her up to a guy that lives in Pike and travels all the back roads when he hears calls over the police scanner. If you have anything else, I will check back... When you say you found the phone in the water, do you mean it was in Oliverian Pond, or the creek/river that feeds into it? When your friend tossed the phone out, where was your car? Still at the pond?

hannah_b wrote: <quoted text> Please do! It was probably damaged by water, but sometimes those do work even if the phone and battery do not. I found a flip phone out in the woods in NH several years ago. I was flabbergasted at where it was. It was waterlogged. I dried it out, charged the battery and I was surprised it worked. I did a little searching and called someone in the list. They told me whose phone it was and I called the owners mom. She was very pleased to find out that the phone was found. I met up with her and she was very appreciative to the tune that unsolicited she gave me a quart of maple syrup. Point being, some of those phones can take a fair amount of abuse and if treated correctly can still be useful. Of course I would expect that just finding any phone isn't too important. If on the other hand it is of the right type and year, turn it over to the police. Better yet, mark the location, call the police and have them collect it without touching it, making it clear, whose phone you suspect it might have belonged to. Bill

When you go to the front of the dam where the dedication plaque is, facing the dam, on the left there is a blocked off road by the parking area. It has a bar across it. Between the top of that little road to just a bit down the street ( as if you were getting in your car and driving away) is where it was most likely thrown. Both of us disagreed on where he tossed it out. I did look back there but I was a little spooked by then because I had started thinking it might have actually been hers, so I wasn't really thorough. I have sinceoved away and won't be back there til spring.
