Good morning Citi and thank you for letting me know. It's confusing when I think back. Reminds me of how Helena is a Murray/Dwyer. She married into the family, didn't know Maura, but is concidered related. HeLena's own (birth family) relatives, not so much.
Do you feel Peabody was accurate? I followed and felt it sincere. I rarely read webslueths myself. But sometimes what I'm looking for shows up there.

JWB,

Clearly you have been through some emotional turmoil lately. It appears you have had some kind of epiphany and are trying to become a kinder and gentler poster. I would only suggest that here, in my limited experience, some cynicism and skepticism and a little bit of heavy handedness is needed if people really do want to discuss the realities of this case.
I do realize that you have been here much longer than me, are more knowledgeable about this than me and I respect that.
Why would you quit posting?

Habs,

My gut instinct is that she got abducted. I want to be clear in saying that this truly is based on my gut and something as simple as those dogs. The only other factor that would influence this is the fact that I have done alot of research on Serial Killers, sociopaths, psychopathic disorders and psychology in general. I would even be willing to admit that because of this research, my "gut instinct" may already be prejudiced.
I think there is great validity in many of the different theories and opinions and some of them are very well backed up with factual information.
My whole point with my previous post was to show that even with all of the info, theories and speculation, most of us won't budge from our original theory.

JWB,

I use denatured alcohol to clean my keyboard. My kids get it filthy with all kinds of crap and I have to clean it all of the time. I just unplug the laptop and take the battery out and rub it down well with a white cotton cloth. The denatured alcohol evaporates quickly without leaving any residue behind and cuts through dirt and grease pretty well. I just let it sit for about half an hour and it's bone dry.

Possibly, if another car was to be purchased, license plates would be tranferred from Saturn to this car. Wonder what plans were for the Saturn? Don't believe a university would want an unplated vehicle setting in the parking lot. Possibly Maura planned to use the Saturn as a trade-in vehicle? Supposedly, the Saturn was running on 3 cylinders...not too much of a dream car that one would want to drive for long distances. Route 112, the route where Saturn was found...I believe I recall Maura's father wondering WHY Maura had taken that particular route. He indicated she was much more familiar with another route. This is a good point. I think he said it was strange that she would have taken Route 112. Anyone recall this? Possibly his comment about this was in the documentary?
This post reminded me about the relationship between Ernies Towing and the head of parking services at UMASS. Seems like some type of scam was going on back in 2003-2004. Looks like history repeated itself again this year. Doubtful Maura's car remained in one spot for very long while parked at UMASS.

Hey all -- a quick correction. Okay/Snowy credited me with MM's Wiki which was a nice thing to say, but I didn't do the Wiki. I did for a while work on a chart that listed info and what was true or believed to be true, with source if possible.......... Emmett, good news abt your AC place! If you find my sandals while hanging on the Boardwalk, let me know :)........ Sending this from my phone, first time trying it, hope it posts okay.
I believe it was Kitten (Topix poster) who made the majority of the contributions to Maura's Wikipedia entry. Apparently Kitten was acquainted with Maura because Maura frequented the coffee shop in Amherst where Kitten worked in 2003-2004.(She mentions this in her posts up-thread in early February, 2012 or thereabouts.)

Wait, did Emmett invite us all to the Shore for a very merry Topix Christmas? Oh what to bring — cannolis, a gaggle of Barolo, truth serum for all the guests?

ridiculous-- I am in agreemet with your "gut istinct" and i have the same exact feeling about this case as well, whenever I look at this case objectivey it always brings me back to that conclusion, IMO its the only thing that make sense.. there are obviously no hard proof that's what happened but at this point, 9 yrs later, its becoming increasingly likely that is exactly what happened.

The dog lost her scent 100yds up the road, that's gotta tell you somehing. That alone isn't definite but when you consider the fact that there were absoulutely no tracks leading into the woods both of those things combined start to paint a picture that she was in fact picked up by a passerby. Also it just makes much more logical sense that this girl would take a ride than choose to walk into the woulds hrugh 2.5' of snow wearing low top sneakers and tight jeans, that would be hell and ear imssible to mae it anywhere deep into the woods. She also would've left a huge trail that LE couldve followed. if you think about it the woods woould be the worst place to hide.

It also looks pretty obvious from where i'm sitting that LE believe she was murdereed as well. Just he inclusion on the CCU list is very telling They secifically state that only missing persons where foud play is believed to have occurred get to be on that list, if that isn't them admitting they believe foul play hqppened then IDK what does.

Been reading on these sites for nine years. Thought that I had read every description of what Maura was wearing that night. NEVER heard that description, not once, EVER! Again, to him, these embellishments, these "small" changes that creep in over the years mean nothing to him. No real investigator actually makes up things and adds them to the investigation. That is what keeps tearing at me that he is supposed to be a federal agent? I mean don't they teach you in cop 101 NOT to put your own prejudices and preconceived notions into any investigation? Not to make up things? I would think they would. How is it possible to pass cop school without knowing that? Can you imagine him on a stand during a trial? Christ!

At least he has stopped with the hair bun. That just quietly just stopped being talked about. Something else he "knew" couldn't happen.

another thank you to okay and frostman for further clarifying who they believe is responsible for the info on the wiki entry. the main reason for my interest is i hope sometime early next year to begin working on an interactive timeline about maura's disappearance. i'm currently inbetween homes which is why i won't be able to begin for a few more months.

my day job is as a web developer and i've seen great examples of interactive timelines that add a richer and fuller perspective to lots of sequential data and information. while it won't present any new or revelationary information, it will attempt to faithfully aggregate and attribute info from a wide variety of sources into a cohesive timeline, with links back to as many original sources as possible.

as part of the effort, i would like to explore the idea of creating a faq section to accompany the timeline that was previously brought up. but being a relative newcomer to the discussion, i wouldn't be able to do all of that heavy lifting myself. that's why i'm curious if there are others who would be interested in helping to contribute to a collaborative faq at some time in the near future. as i mentioned in a previous post, some people value the anonymity of posting in a public forum like this and may not want to compromise that by working on a project like a collaborative faq. of course, working collaboratively online doesn't require giving up anonymity, though it makes contributors more accountable.

anyhow, these are just some thoughts and ideas about "what next". curious what any of you long-time contributors think about the value of something like this.

Creepy/weird. He has variously referred to MM as "hot", a "beautiful young girl" and "sweet and innocent girl". I believe he is the only one to do so. Better to say young woman, though that may be splitting hairs. No boundaries.

Maura's family topix forum began in November 2004,
8 years ago. In 2 months it will be 9 years that Maura Murray disappeared in (North)Haverhill, NH,
on the border towns of Bath, Swiftwater and Easton, NH.

My memory of the original Wiki was Sharon R.

Ever since the ending of the families forum, there has been seemingly the blaming of the victim/and her family.

Yes, Maura is a victim....she is not here to defend.
