hannah_b wrote: <quoted text> I am by no means doubting the info you got, but - WHY then would her friends at UMass be looking for her shortly after she left and be worried enough to notify UMass security? Something doesn´t add up here. The friend that I speak with didn't go to UMass with her--only a high school friend who stayed in touch with her and-I don't have contact with any friend who went to UMass with her (only a clinical instructor)---perhaps they were concerned because of the crying episode (the phone call while at work) and the accident with her father's vehicle?

Let me break the news gently. A lot of young women and young men, too, have a tearful episode once in a while. One of the many reasons the R.A. system came into being was because of stressors involved during one's college years. This hit and run victim....while I doubt MM had anything to do with that, I do believe that she was caught up in some type of relationship issue which was proving very stressful. That Sunday(?) communication with her bf in which she said that she had not felt like talking and that SHE would get back to him later, is good indication she wanted privacy. Now for all of the romantics,....because I'm using the word relationship, this does not necessarily mean MM was caught up in some intimate relationship with someone other than her bf. This cannot be ruled out however. We know she was preoccupied with something, some situation that had been on her mind. In fact, paperwork from accident involving her father's new Toyota indicated she had been inattentive while driving. She had not wanted to speak with bf when he'd contacted her. While she had spent time w/people she knew at the party, some questioned why she had left the party (early?) and had not stayed longer. In my opinion she had mixed emotions regarding some stressful, unresolved situation in her life.

I'm hoping that those of you who are attempting to bash MM have absolutely nothing for the search for her. From the response about my comments, it seems that possibly the abductor was not someone impersonating a trooper. Possibly it was the real McCoy???????? It's evident some of you are attempting to protect someone. If I were MM's father, I'd find someone from out-of-state to investigate her disappearance.

It's at least refreshing that you've been able to pull yourself away from the transcript issue, but now you're riding the hit-and-run situation. Didn't you mention this before?
