Harassed? Certainly. Like the time I talked to an autobody shop manager who had seen the Corolla just after it crashed and all the cops all over it. That's when the minor vandalism occurred in the back yard a few hours later after dark. I don't know what all is going on, but I definitely disagree about the spalted wood remark. That's not a coincidence, and neither is the vandalism, among other things. It's true that real private detectives, if they are honest and objective, would probably not include me on a list of suspects, but there could conceivably be something about me, my whereabouts at a particular time, something, somehow that does make me look like I had something to do with it. If so, no one from the Murray/Mehrmann camp has exactly extended themselves or offered any clarification.

The history of PIs is one of working for the biggest buck available. Some are ethical, but very few. If one of them works for my brother's best friend, then he definitely is not ethical or trustworthy. He is out to get me pure and simple and is well paid for it. And he could easily pose as DC or as easily not. But he is at least local.

Real detectives, like Chuck West, Mark Mudgett, and whoever is handling Maura's case, are usually a different story altogether, but not always. They are often very sophisticated and clever. It's their job. They do it every day. They train and update periodically, just like MDs, lawyers, and lots of other occupations. But even real cops, public detectives, so to speak, will use online threads like this to poke and prod. Some real cops become obsessed with a person that they just "know" is guilty, and then their obsession can get way out of hand, like it did with a Greenfield cop. If they can't pin one crime on a guy, they'll frame him for something he's not guilty of. That may sound too out there for some, but if you're old enough and are from the Gloucester area, you might remember a MA state cop Cpl. Souza, who was on the take years ago from drug importers. Or the MA state cop, a Lt., who tried to kill an asst. DA in the Springfield office one night with a knife not too many years ago. Lots of bad cops among many good ones.

Unfortunately, I'm in the dark about a lot of this. I would just speculate that if someone is targeting me for this, then they are probably themselves a kind of connection to what really happened to Maura Murray. Someone or some group has gone to a lot of trouble and expense to keep me in their sights. Being their target, after a while, can wear you down, which they know.

I would, at this point, publically ask Maura Murray's family to make some kind of public statement regarding all this. Do they endorse it or do they separate themselves from it? What is their relation to these threads and the old MMM forum? Her family is curiously silent. This whole thing would look less like a freak show if Maura Murray's family would make a reasonable public statement. Why don't they?

I use DC as an umbrella term to cover the many monikers he has used, which, incidentally, I don't have a big problem with. I have received three emails from him in the past few months. They are weird. Yes, it's always possible that someone is impersonating him in some way, but I doubt it. I'm not sure what's going on, but I don't think the kinds of communications I have received from ispyeverywhere@... are normal. Why would he include Helena's email address? Why would he send along ads for Viagara? And someone else's email address at a Clipper something newspaper in Duxbury? And a few other people. The whole thing is really weird - for example, the time a guy visited my sister at her home in Naples Florida a few years ago to make some strange comments about Maura's disappearance - like out of the blue. And a list of other things. There's a lot of space junk that has fallen into my little patch of turf that does not make the Topix threads. Maura's disappearance is definitely not confined to the posts on this or any other thread or forum. But something is going on and I really, really, really don't like that it keeps trying to attach itself to me, here, locally, in Amherst.

I don't know what to think.

Maybe I should just "confess" and get cleared by the real cops, then that would take care of it all.

I really wish I could talk to someone neutral (not therapeutic) about this, but Topix is the only choice, and a very poor one at that. Little threads are just a bad way of getting at something and making some progress.

I think that if someone is more or less after me, then maybe that's a clue as to what really happened. I'm all at sixes and nines over this today.

Are you saying that Maura Murray called Bruno's Pizza in Amherst MA the same night as she received the upsetting phone call at work? On the same night - whether before or after midnight - but, in plain English, Thursday night?

In other words, on Thursday night,

1) Maura or someone using her cell phone called Bruno's Pizza,

2) Petrit Vasi was found unconscious, and

3) Maura Murray received a very upsetting phone call while at her security post in Melville?

All three happend on the same night? Is that correct? You know for a fact that there was a call made from Maura's cellphone to Bruno's Pizza on Thursday night? Do you know exactly when it was made and how long it lasted? Do you think police already have this information? Can you say HOW you know that a call was made from Maura's cellphone to Bruno's on Thursday night?

these remain reasonable and serious questions to ask. Dawn and i have asked them, too. there is a curious and angry silence.
there are honest pleas from families of loved ones lost....not usually scheming.

So why would DC put the Dominoes Pizza phone number on a Topix thread for me to see right after I had been to the Amherst Motel, which shares a driveway with Dominoes and is basically directly behind it? And then urgently ask me three times in one week why I had been there? Did he actually think I was visiting Dominoes? How would he think this if not informed of it or having observed it himself?

This implies that I saw the Discovery phone bill and tried to do some investigating on my own about Dominoes. Actually, I was looking at an apartment at the Amherst Motel, so I appeared to have come from Dominoes if someone was watching me. Why was he so crazed about what I was doing there if he didn't know exactly where I was?

So... since I was almost certainly being watched when I visited the Amherst Motel; since someone, probably local, slightly vandalized my backyard just hours after I said on Topix that the Corolla had been examined by police; and since Quija repeated on Topix the word "spalted" in an unusual context the day after I phoned an Amherst instrument maker to see if he was interested in buying some spalted maple, I have to assume there has been some interest in me that relates to Maura Murray's disappearance.

Since eavesdropping and following someone around are not cheap or easy for the average person, then there has to be some money behind this. I don't think this kind of money came from Maura's family.

This makes me think that there is a PI from the Amherst/Northampton area who is being handsomely paid to make it look to Maura's family like I had something to do with her disappearance.

But then why the Haverhill/Franconia location for Topix?

I don't get it.

And I'd still like to know why DC would send me all those email addresses, including Helena's, and those online ads for Viagara, etc. from Canada. And why would one of DC's buddies email me back that the original email sent by DC was infected?

I've noticed a certain pull to focus on the accident scene in NH. It never makes woodsville or Havehill Topix, just Franconia. Equally odd, maybe equally coincidental. Then we see people trying to keep Maura's name out there in Amherst.

For whatever reasons,(I think it was ill health), Helena decided to give up the MMM forums.
Helena once told me not to post on Topix because it was not helpful. That really hurt at the time, because I thought I was helping. I have no idea anymore what the Murray's are doing as far as all this goes.

That, and I really wish I didn't care at all. I'll bet a nickle that if the family even does read Topix at all, it's not very often. JMSO

and one last thing. To think police would bother reading and weeding through all this Topix chatter about Maura seems funny at best. They have to be more hands on than that I would think. This place seems more like a meeting place for other reasons, like beating a dead horse. I think I'm done for awhile, there doesn't seem to be any use for me to post anymore, if ever.

Maybe. I would understand their reluctance to read these Topix threads, but I would also understand that just as Maura's father has left no stone unturned in Haverhill, he would leave no thread about his missing daughter unread. After all, the original MMM forum was set up by Maura's family, at least it would seem that way.

The problem is how active is her family and how active are the people who claim to work on the family's behalf. Maybe the family is resigned to her disappearance, but I'm not sure the same is true for some other people.

Well, if only two or three people - people who contribute nothing new anyway - were to stop posting, then there would be almost nothing left. I don't know. I wish I had moved out west years before 2004. I wish I had never contacted Helena and tried to help. This thing has ruined my very stupid little life. I am convinced that I did not "allow" this to take over my life. The insinuations, the intimidations, the vandalism, the being followed by the PI my brother's best friend hired, the strange visit by someone to my sister's house about Maura, everything has often made me wish at bedtime that I would just go peacefully in my sleep. Now there's nothing left. I can only believe that Maura's family takes pleasure in ruining the lives of innocent people - because they sure haven't distanced themselves from any of it.
