It seems to me some people think their assumptions about her are facts. Like this thought that she was traine for survival, I've even seen people go so far as to call her a survivalist, but nobody that knew her. Not one person that actually knew here has ever said anything about her having outdoor survival training or being a surviivalist in any way. She like to hike, day hikes on trails, it's not like she was bushwhacking into the wilderness and making her own campsites at all. She liked to camp, at campgrounds,Jigger Johnson was her favorite. That is a tourist campground that little kids stay at with their families, HUGE difference than people that go into national forests and set up their own campsites and live in the woods for a week. That's the kind of stuff survivalists do, not go camping at jigger johnson's. And orky- you consider her a Thrill seeker? What causes you to reach that conclusion? I've never heard anyone who knew her describe her anything like that. She liked to run, hike and camp at touristy campgrounds, not bungee jump and sky dive. Outside of using someone's CC, nothing she generally did was particularly risky if u think about it, and stealing stuff is a completely different kind of risk than what you're talking about. She liked to hike and she loved the white mountains for their beauty, just like lots of other people from new england. She def loved the white mts but to say she was obsesse seems to be exagerating it, it seems like she went to NH several times a year with her dad/family, that doesn't exactly sound like obsession to me. I just think that it's silly that people base theories around what they think about her, not on what the people that knew her said about her. Nobody ever described her as a risk taker, a survivalist, or having any survival training/experience at all really, or being obsessed with the White mts. I think it was Emmett who was saying that since she went to wp she was trained for survival. I don't think that's necessarily true. WP isn't boot camp, it's a college for the military & she was there for a year and a half & was majoring in chemical engineering. Just going to wp does not mean you're now suddenly a survival expert or received any outdoor survival training at all. She had never attended any sort of boot camp & I seriously doubt she had received any sort of field training at all, which is where they would teach you basic survival skills, I assume. Although I have several good friends who were in the military in iraq, Afghanistan & even Guantanamo bay, none of these guys received any specialized outdoor survival training to my knowledge, they certainly aren't experts at winter survival because they were trained by the military to go fight in Iraq. Idk, i just think we should stick to the facts, things that we KNOW about her, things that her best friends and family have said about her, not what people online who have never met her have said. Her friends & fam have said a lot about her, but I've never heard them say anything about her being a survivalis, being trained for survival or being a big risk taker.

So many of her actions from that night make much more sense if she wasn't traveling alone. But if she was going with someone I find it hard to believe that the FBI wouldn't have been able to figure that out.

Well, if she was suicidal, was there a pattern of mental illness? How many other times did Maura attempt suicide? 6? 7?
Or zero?
Isnt it possible that thie situation involving 'attempted suicide' was the first so-called attempt.
I betcha Patrick had 'shed his clothes'
I would find out if McKay ever offered an opinion about the mud in the face.
I mean stuff in the eyes...... Really?
When is the media going to inform the public? Never?

actually, i don't think MM had any significant survival training, nor do i think she is/was wonder woman, as she is sometimes portrayed to be. but you either didn't catch that, Jenks, or i was unclear. a fascinating feature of your writing, aside from length and repetition, is the flip-flopping. one day fred's a saint, another he's a sinner. and all manner of opposites. i won't provide examples. just my observation. note that i can say this without calling you names (but i can think them!) and so goes the 10th year, so far.

They train at WP.. That's where most of the LTs come from.. They train hard at WP (least they used to)... Didn't say she had been trained at Ranger camp on survival.. Like what bugs/plants to eat & how tot get water... I'm saying she coulda ran much further than thought.. Even if she didn't do nothing at WP, she was still a State Champion Cross Country (distance) runner

All cadets take a prescribed series of physical fitness courses such as military movement (applied gymnastics), boxing (men) or self-defense (women), swimming, and beginning in 2009, advanced combatives. Cadets can also take elective physical activity classes such as scuba, rock climbing, and aerobic fitness. As with all soldiers in the Army, cadets also must pass the Army Physical Fitness Test twice per year. Additionally, during their junior year, cadets must pass the Indoor Obstacle Course Test (IOCT. Every cadet is required to participate in either an intercollegiate sport, a club sport, or an intramural sport each semester. So, no more training than your average college athlete. At the time of her disappearance she was fond of her drink and had quit the track team, so in her case perhaps a below average college athlete.

I have passed everything along to PIs that I have learned along the way and they pass it on to LE.They are the ones investigating the case. Your not an investigator and neither am I. My hopes are that one day that the real investigators will solve this case. You have had no problem mentioning blood - that was never tested or confirmed to be MM's in the aframe, but you never mentioned the vodka bottle. I find that interesting. Is it because the blood on carpet makes it a "foul play' angle, but the vodka bottle makes it look like first party destruction? Do you know what lying by omission is?

Assuming Maura drove the car to New Hampshire also assumes that she did not behave consistently over time.
A personality in motion tends to continue behaving consistently.
It also assumes that she was more motivated to drive to New Hampshire randomly then to graduate from nursing...by risking driving the Saturn a short distance.
These assumptions are counter intuitive....unless someone drove the Saturn for her....and the week of time afforded by the death claim was intended to procure a car for her.

If we are to believe family about the condition her car was in, then driving it alone into the white mountains region hours away from your dorm at night .... would be considered a risk-taking move NO? From 2007 article done in New Hampshire Union Leader Fred Murray "We were concluding our collection of 4,000-footers. I was doing the last three I hadn't done." One day, they hiked to Owl's Head; the next day 23 miles on three 4,000-foot peaks. "Then she whipped out of her knapsack for finishing my 48th, a Long Trail Ale, and handed it to me on the summit of West Bond. " It was typical Maura," Murray said. that is a little bit more adventure than a girl that likes to go to a campsite and roast her hotdog and cook smores as Jenky now portrays her as being.
