Oh I'm sure there is a queue of people eager to help. One thing James has done very well is engage people with the mystery of Maura's disappearance via the blog. I shall definitely purchase the book. I don't think there will be any huge revelations but I am interested to see how he presents and argues his case. I agree about Mr. Green. I understand if Renner needs help to keep the momentum of the blog going while he gets on with the book but I think Green was a bad choice. It seems like the promotion from humble poster to contributor has gone to Green's head.<quoted text>
Haha. I didn't take it that way, but I see what you mean. Green's attitude might have pushed some folks away, but I bet many will still want to help. More power to them.
Renner seems to be big on crowdsourcing. I'm guessing they can use all the help they can get if Renner is up against a publishing deadline and still has a lot of research left to do. A lot of people seem to think Renner is going to solve this case. IMHO that would be a lot of pressure, since law enforcement and however many PIs don't seem to know what happened to Maura. My expectations are not that high.
My interest in the blog has been Renner's interviews and public records. I'll still probably buy the book but am not a fan of Green's posts. Unless/until Renner starts posting more interviews etc, I have lost interest in the blog.

I agree with you on all points. It'll be interesting to see what Renner does with his book vs his blog. I don't expect a whole lot of new info, but hopefully some new interviews. |

Judged: 2 2 1 Green was never humble - his ego has always been huge. I've been reading his comments on the blog for over a year, and he has always had a very high opinion of himself and been very condescending to others. That fact, along with his abuse of Beagle and the constant derogatory references about Topix posters (while using the information we post here) made me dislike him long before he was promoted to Assistant King of Renner's blog. I also think it's really funny that he is delegating the tasks he feels are beneath him - I guess he needs free time to write his billion word posts and comments as well as time to post here pretending to be somebody else. |

Judged: 2 2 2 I totally agree with everything you've said. I have trouble believing though that Renner hasn't peeked at Topix or checked his own blog while he was gone. It would be a shame if he knew how JG was acting and just watched and did nothing as it effects his reputation as a person and a writer. Afterall it was he that put someone in charge of his blog while everyone else had to watch as this person grew more rude, mean and insulting by the day until his head grew too big for his body and was ready to explode. Thank you :) |

Judged: 2 2 2 I vaguely remembered this incident, so had a look around - it was back on January 27, 2012. I think Renner's response is priceless. By John Green: "... I put a good deal of work into that analysis and - for whatever reason - James decided to not post it. I scrutinized it closely and it does not violate any of James terms for posting on this blog. While I will concede that he may have had good reasons that are not evident to me for not posting it, that is arbitrary and ad hoc and puts participators on this blog - which remember was set up by James to help in - in the position of potentially wasting their time. I thus won't be posting any more comments here. Doubtful that James will post this message either, but he should because it too violates none of his standards for acceptable posts.~ J. Green" Renner's response: "J. Green: Your post was about 5,000 words. Way too long. Please keep your responses succinct. This is fine. But I can't have people posting novellas. No offense. But you can say what you need to say in fewer words." :) |

Judged: 2 2 1 I meant humble in terms of status not attitude! The link you have posted to the Green/Renner spat (sorry I haven't figured out multi quotes yet) is priceless. It's made me like James a little more. |

When I see the script being read - the director immediately says " lindsay lohan will be perfect for this part" The soundtrack is as follows: The moment Fred drops Maura off at the dorm " Hotel California" starts to play while she packs up her room and prints the email from billy, and searches for direction. Although it has been used many times " The house of the rising sun" will be great right after the accident while Maura packs up her car and runs off. I can hear the organ now. |

Judged: 1 i remember this....and thought Green meant what he said; of course, he came right back. you're pretty darned good at applying search parameters/values to bring up just what you need, when you need it. their dissonance and contrasts will not likely resolve easily or permanently. watch and wait. |
